Pxndorx Hello colleagues, I'm here to share this diary that is currently in progress as of today (5/28/2020), which is about 3 Royal Gorilla from the ROYAL QUEEN SEEDS bank. First of all, I wanted to clarify: - I had an incident during the first 3 weeks of cultivation with the pH meter; it was off by 0.8 points, almost completely blocking nutrient absorption, which is why the plants grew very slowly during this period. - This is my first time growing in COCO, so this complicated things a bit in figuring out the meter issue, as I had gotten a bit too confident (ROOKIE MISTAKE). - This is my 2nd grow. - I struggled to get the watering right; it's my first time using coco and I didn't know the best way until I figured it out. I didn't want to make the mistake of treating COCO like soil. I also wanted to detail a few things that I think are important to mention and can help readers follow along. - I always use dechlorinated water that has been sitting for at least 48 hours. The EC of my base water is 0.1; this was corrected in the 2nd week of cultivation since I didn't understand much about using the PPM meter (first time measuring these parameters). I add 2 parts calcium to 1 part magnesium with micronutrients; in this case, I got the MINER brand which had 1L bottles at a good price. - They are in Geotextile pots since they were recommended for the oxygenation they provide to the substrate and improve the root system (I'll comment on how I found them at the end). - The workspace is a tent measuring 1M x 1M x 2M with 4 passive fans. - I later added 2 more plants to the tent, but that will go into another diary. - I had a lot of trouble maintaining humidity and temperature parameters during the Vegetative stage since it was very hot in the region where I live at that time. I think with that we can start the Diary. If I remember anything I might have overlooked, I'll add it. With all that said, let's get started with the diary 😎

Pxndorx The first 2 weeks of the plants were totally normal, a bit slow due to the pH issue clarified in the first week, but nothing out of the ordinary. I just wanted them to grow more so I could start doing some pruning.

Pxndorx This week I want to clarify the idea I had for each plant. It's my first time doing pruning on the plants; I had never pruned in my life, so I was a bit hesitant at first, but after seeing many diaries and reading in forums, I decided it was something I had to try. R. Gorilla 1: I wanted to do this plant using APICAL pruning until I got at least 8 colas. R. Gorilla 2: For this plant, I wanted to do FIM pruning (although the plant didn't accept it on 2 occasions, resulting in it ending up being APICAL pruning). R. Gorilla 3: And for the last one, I also decided to do APICAL pruning just like G1.

Pxndorx This week there's not much to add, I was still dealing with the headache from the slow growth, until I hit the nail on the head with the pH meter.

Pxndorx Finally, I had found the solution, damn meter... The plants are starting to grow at a faster rate, although not as much as I would like since I just started adding Calcium and Magnesium to my base water this week.
