13.05.20 - Germination began, I started with x5 Speed Bud Auto and x2 Northern Lights Auto.
Day 1 - 17.05.20 - 100% successful germination of varied sizes this will be classed as my
Day 3 - I removed 1 speed bud and 1 northern lights as they were not very happy when the others were thriving.
Day 4 - use of plant start at 150ppm was used to soak the small seedlings in jiffy’s. They have been transplanted in their jiffy into the 6inch basket where they will remain for the remainder.
Day 7 - all x5 plants transplanted to a handmade 10L bucket with 5inch air stone with 6 inch basket. They cost a pretty penny but the air in the water these create is amazing especially with the 8 outlet pump I have.
I had intended on using a HPS 600w which I own however the heat that it is creating even with the ballast outside of the room won’t go below 30deg C. I have INKBIRD humidity and temperature sensors. Once 18hrs light fell I replaced it with a speedy delivery from AMAZON, I did look into it first and seem to be quite common......Wakyme LED grow light
I originally bought a humidifier which is no use nor ornament as it hasn’t been needed or come into use as the humidity remains 50-55% I open the tent door zip slightly and that reduces it and holds it around the 45% mark.
I will be investing in a dehumidifier to counteract that problem.
Touch wood, these are the only real issues I have had but I have acted quickly
Day 7 i I transplanted the seedlings in jiffy’s to the DWC basket water level was “just” touching the bottom of the basket which meant there was 1mm- 2mm air gap between the water level and the jiffy’s. The high pressured air in the water to spit when air was released at the top which kept the bottom of the jiffy moist which had minimal roots showing to the exterior of it.
Day 7-13 I originally had 7.5 litres of water that was to the bottom of the basket. I replaced the water on the 13th which meant the water was changed after 6 days at such an early stage I will regularly change the water in the buckets. You can change every 7-14days but I am taking no chances.
I refilled and added nutrients on Day 13 which was yesterday. And the plants are doing really well and are a nice VEG green colour. Hard to tell on the pictures with the light colour but you can see their progress.
When I replaced the water this week I put 6.5L of water in each bucket With nutrients PH’d as close to 5.8 as possible. Some varied from 5.72 - 5.9. I have noted these on each bucket so that I can check if one does better than the others or shows deformities or stress I can amend it to match the others but hopefully not in such a close proximity of 5.8ph with an EC of 700+-
The roots are now showing in every pot with the longest being some 6inches.
The new Wakyme grow light is top notch so far with VEG button on only. Anyone contemplating buying one it cost me £99.00 from amazon and so far is performing just how I would like.
Humidity has been taken care of with a cold air intake fan which is pulled from another area of the building of a cooler environment.
Temperatures are spot on where I want them but I do allow a 2degree +- allowance but it does change back to its original temperature quickly enough.
5 more speed bud germinated and 2peyote critical feminised photoperiod germinated.
Crystal candy XL auto ordered x10
Gorilla glue, Pineapple Express and Cali Kush waiting in the wings. I have these already
If I can be anymore help to anyone let me know. Your diaries are helping me and hopefully I can provide the same to you
3 completed weeks now and it’s really starting to take shape.
I was wondering when it would be likely to explode with growth and days 17 to 22 it has literally doubled in size in 4-5days
Because it has done so well this week and has reacted really well to the nutrients I prepared the same mix again with new H2O.
I have put them back under the 600w HPS now and I am using the LED for a crystal candy grow in another tent.
No real problems as such this week. The roots in the bucket are touching the bottom in bulk and have a fish bone style look to them and are A healthy pure white.
It does have a faint weed smell to the tent, I have switched on the carbon filter with extractor which is removing the smell And getting rid of waste air. I have an input fan with ducting blowing air in low down.
Nothing much to report otherwise. I expect that there will be a dramatic difference again next week as I imaging days 21-28 will see visible flowering.
I will be back in touch next week 😀
a few things have changed this week I was originally running DWC but the buzzing of the Air Pump was vibrating through floors and walls. I have put it on buckets upside down, on a pair of trainers, on its side you name it I’ve tried it.
I researched hard about transplanting them (in the baskets still) into coco and it is more popular than I thought.
I was a bit worried because the roots were about 15inches long at the time but I managed to do it successfully and the plants are thriving again.
At the minute I am using CALMAG and canna A and B. I have ordered Bloom nutrients which should be here Monday.
Today is Day 28 the plants are a nice size. I grew this strain for its speed (given the name) it’s supposed to take 42-49days. I don’t think it will be too far off this if slightly over.
This started to flower on day 25 with white pistols. These have chunked up slightly over a couple of days already
Week 3 I added a CO2 bag which may be helping the plant significantly.
I have done some more LST to all of these plants.
Watering once a day before dark
Let’s see how this week goes
Plants have taken well this week to the extra nutrients I added. Rhizotonic, cannazym and Boost accelerator.
Ppm has increased and we are one step closer to finished product.
Stems have thickened up and has grown about 10-12 inches in one week. I feel that LST worked wonders on these plants. And will always do it on every grow I ever do.
There are about 10-12 Bud sites with the main one on top the biggest of the bunch.
I replaced the HPS with a Spider farmer LED 1000w. I have another LED arriving tomorrow to help cover more area.
This is my favourite hobby out of anything else I do. I have thoroughly enjoyed every step of the way. Weeks 3 and 5 so far are my favourite, that being the size increase in week 3 to 4 and then the flowering stage to where we are now.
I defoliated a lot of these plants to deal with high humidity and to bring that down to 45-50% and for it to focus on thickening the buds up. Which it seems to be doing
Here’s to next week 🍻
Nothing much to report as it’s business as usual. Feeding every other day and water and cal mag in between. I will be feeding less and less over the course of the next week or two.
Just keeping up with everything and making sure temps and humidity is at its standard
They are coming along and can’t wait to see the end product
-Reduction in nutrients done
-Will start flush this week
-Defoliated some unnecessary leaves this week.
- buds coming along on nicely
-smelling great
-not far away now
2 out of 14 seeds have made it to flowering. 10 didn’t even germinate. That was through no fault of my own. The same procedure was done with these as all my other grows. It’s a good end result taste wise not so much yield wise due to the lack of seed success
Not the biggest yielder by any stretch but I knew that anyway. Was one to test out. Easy novice strain to grow. Weeks 6-8 is where the magic happens.
I could of let these go a few more days but it was chopped 8 weeks +4 (60days) as all indications were showing as done
Sucks to have such a bad germination rate. I bought the 10 random autos from budda seeds. Only 2 germinated of them, very disappointed to say the least. Same as you too, all using same method! Good luck going forward bro
