I've decided to create a separate journal for the plants that have been transplanted outdoors.
They're all doing very very well. I'm pumped.
This year I transplanted with mycorrhizae treatment on my roots.
I also added insect frass, malted barley, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, worm castings, aloe vera powder, humic & fulvic acid.
So far they have doubled in size the first week. I will be back to see them this week and will be defoliating and trimming lower growth.
All is well with the outdoor crew.
Jack Herer, my original sickly gal I rushed outdoors and into a pot a week earlier than the rest that were waiting for mycorrhizae etc., is just a height machine. It’s sooooo tall already!
I topped Blueberry and Green Crack this weekend. Hoping to give the rest of the plant/branching a chance to catch up and "bush" it out vs. the Xmas tree / normal growth pattern I've just left in years past for the most part. I may do the same with Early Skunk and Phantom OG next week depending on how these two respond. I will NOT being topping Jack Herer since she's a beast and we've kept track of our tallest plant each year (Kali Mist was over 12ft last year and Jamaican Lambsbread was 8.5ft the year prior).
Jack Herer is now a ridiculous 6ft tall! I won’t be topping her. Going to see if we can beat last year’s 12ft Kali Mist. Phantom OG keeps growing quickly. Structure is similar to Blueberry. Less sites but strong and pronounced in their location and growth. Early Skunk as always doing her thing without stealing much attention. Healthy and strong growth.
Mostly defoliation was the theme of the weekend, and it took me over 5 hours to properly take off a third of most of the girls. I topped Bubba #2 to see how different I can get the structure to be vs Bubba #1, which will be left as is (I did however aggressively pull outwards all side branching).
I top dressed the soil with 4-4-4, Kelp meal, Alfalfa meal, malted barley, Humic & Fulvic acid, aloe powder.
Little work on the plants this past weekend. No topping, no defoliation, no feeding, just water.
They’re all happy & healthy.
Jack Herer I should note, is over 10ft now 🤯
Lots of defoliation this week after not seeing the ladies for about 14 days. Solid growth overall, very pleased. Top dressed soil with Gaia Green 4-4-4 and first dose of 2-8-4, Alfalfa meal, Kelp meal, Insect Frass, Aloe Powder, molasses, fish hydrosolate. Attempting this grow without worm casting tea. Lake water as usual (it’s about 6.8ph normally, with double the Cal / Mag as most lakes 👌🏼)
Topped Blueberry again, and the smaller Bubba, also Green Crack CBD. Also the very very top of Early Skunk.
Kali Mist still appears to be flowering strangely. She was a bag seed from last year’s outdoor grow. Only found 3 seeds and this is the one that made it (planted as a bonus directly into the soil).
Black Dog has emerged from its lifelong funk. It’s still quite small but has responded well to training and the outdoors.
Big Bubba’s Gift is now 6ft x 6ft. She’s a monster in the 65-gallon pot.
Jack Herer has now surpassed the 10ft mark, at 10’4 with measuring tape.
