*************************** **   Week Four Update   ** *************************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~ Note: All environmental, soil, seed and nutrient information can be found in Week One. ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SUPPLEMENT KEY (The amounts in the nutrient list above is meaningless.) Base Solution: Tap water - plus - PT = Pro-TeKt (1.5 ml/Gal.)  CP = Coconut Water Powder (0.75 tsp/Gal.), pH ~6.5 Weekly:                        MP = Mammoth P (0.16ml/L)    MK = Mikrobs (0.25 tsp/L)       Every Other Watering: FS = Fish Sh!t (0.5 ml/L)             AV = Ale Vera (1/8 tsp/2L) Every 4th Watering:     MO = Molasses (0.5 TBS/L) FERTIGATION THIS WEEK D23 - 1L tea each. pH ~6.4. Aerated for 24 hours.       For One Gallon of Tea         Place in tea bag:          • 3 TBS Nature's Living Soil - Per manufacturer          • 1 TBS Molasses - Recommended by NLS. Feed the microbes!          • 0.5 Cup Earth Worm Castings - Added for a richer tea.          • 0.5ml Mammoth P - I noticed some possible P or cal-mag problems two days ago. This may head-off any developing problems.          • 1 TBS Roots Organic Elemental - I noticed a possible cal-mag problem two days ago. This may head-off any developing problems. D24 - Each plant was lightly defoliated. Only the ten largest fan leaves were removed across all three plants. This opens the lower branches to more light.       • Later in the day I did some SuperCropping. I just gently bent the branches that I thought would produce good buds. It allows them to "go horizontal" and catch more light. D25 - 1L, MK,FS D27 - 1L, MP ENVIRONMENT THIS WEEK Relative Humidity - 46%-77% Temperature - 66F-82F Comment - During the last season, I monitored the Vapor Pressure Deficit probably every 30-minutes. This time I am just looking at daily ranges. All is good and it is lower stress. But, going thought the last grow really helped me understand what is going on. OVERVIEW OF WEEK •    DAILY COMMENTS • Day 22 - I noticed the first pre-flowers on the Sour Stomper. I'll be feeding my tea blend tomorrow. Perfect timing.  • Day 23 - I increased the watering amount from 500ml to 1 liter. This time it was tea. Even with a full liter, there was no runoff. I water very slowly to allow the water to permeate the media. I expect to continue to water 1 liter at a time. I may have to adjust my schedule a bit and allow two drying days between waterings. Eventually, the plants will grow to where I can cut it back to one day between waterings.  • Day 24 - Removed about 3-4 large fan leaves from each plant. This opened the lower branches to the light. I also SuperCropped most of the branches. Gently twisting each branch at its base between my thumb and forefinger. This weakens the branch temporarily. When they "heal" the branch will be more horizontal, bringing it into the light.  • Day 24 - My plan suggested this is the first week of flowering. Only the Sour Stomper is showing pre-flowers, so I am not changing to the flowering fertigation schedule.  • Day 25 - Just a "clarifying thought" concerning LST. In the past I was very aggressive, essentially attempting to get more than one bud along a branch. That was not my intent, but it was the result of my extreme LST approach. This time I will try to keep it to one bud per branch. The goal of LST will be to get the _top_ out to the light, where it can turn upward again. Anything below the "main bud" will be stripped, just as if you are lollipopping the main stem. I ordered some tomato trainers from Amazon to start the process. I will use my existing spike if a branch needs a secondary tie-down.  • Day 27 - One liter of water just gets the plants through two days. I'm not ready to increase the every-other-day waterings, but it won't be long. The Sour Stomper has really taken off. It started a noticeable stretch today. Super UZI #1 also shooting out a strong main shoot, with no signs of pre-flowers.  • Day 27 - Major LST session. I purchased "Tomato Stem Support Clips" off of Amazon. They were only $10USD for 100. THEY ARE GREAT! Once a branch is about 6"-8" long you can use the clips to bend it to about 90-degrees relative to the main stem and the next day it is reaching for the light out beyond the reach of the other branches. Take a look at the photos to see what I mean. COMING UP  • It would be fair to say that the Super Stomper is blooming. But because the others have yet to show pre-flowers, the condition is still "VEG."  • Remember, Super Uzi #1 is on Day 1. The Sour Stomper is two days ahead at -2 and Super Uzi #2 is behind breaking ground on day +3.       => That means at the end of week 4, Day 28, Super Uzi #1 is 28 days old. The Sour Stomper is 30 days old. And Super Uzi #2 is 25 days old. It also means that it was more difficult to get the Super Uzis to sprout. The Sour Stomper spouted first. Draw your own conclusions.  • I'm looking forward to using the new support clips. I think I will be able to minimize the stress on the plant and increase production.

@blendmedmedman, I am very pleased. I put them in jars today with some Bovenda packs. It dried too quickly, but I didn't have much control over the environment. The 180 grams dried to 57.5 grams. Very pleased. Now, it probably needs to dry a bit more an there are at least 10 g of stem included (I had to hang them somehow.) But the buds are very solid so I am expecting some good smoke. I've already started the soil for season four. The diary will be full of details. All organic and closely following the advice of BuildASoil.

@TheOtherSide, thanks for the comment. I was way behind. I posted four weeks in the last two days. But now I am caught up. I'm really trying to document what I do and to keep track of any deviations from my plan. That way I know what I need to do differently next time. I do like how quickly you can run a crop of autos. If all goes well, I'll get four crops this year. Good luck with your garden as well.

@Tweezer, Thanks. Wait to see what happens in the next few weeks. I fell behind in updating my diary. I just started week 8 and had to fix an organic nutrient problem. It is all documented. I just need to upload it. Thanks for looking at my diary.
