Firstly I would like to thank GHSC for this opportunity to grow their wonderfully named strain Wonder Pie and also the generous opportunity to win a dream trip to Amsterdam.
A little info on this strain.
Wonder Pie (Wedding Cake x OG Kush)
Wonder Pie is a cross of Wedding Cake with their selected OG Kush.
Taste/ flavors:
Fruity/sweet to gassy making it a good all round strain. The influences from Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie are dominant while the OG Kush flavor comes through on the exhale.
Characteristics/Effects:
The plant grows tall and will double in size during the flowering period and should be topped and trained to maximize yield.
The buds are long, very dense and covered in trichomes.
The effect is balanced, making it an ideal strain for day and night.
Flowering Cycle:
60 - 65 days indoor
Yield: High
Nutrients:
Bio grow/bloom and enhancer
Sounds awesome too alot of growers im sure, an all in 1 simple powder feeding but what I like is what's in it , all ingredients seem to have been sourced from the highest quality so I'm sure it will perform well.
2nd June
I fired up the nursery tent temp to a steady 25-26 degrees Celsius for 5 hours with germination soaking water inside to get it up to temp, then dropped 5 seeds into water (PH 6.5) for a 15 hour soak. 2 of the seeds are very small so let's see how they go.
3rd June
After 15 hour's I placed seeds pointy end down into peat based soiless mix and just under a light layer of coco as it won't crust up and make it difficult for seeds to surface as I've encountered before. I then gave them a light watering and covered with plastic to retain moisture and humidity. Pots will be topped up with substrate as they stretch up creating more roots. Lighting will be 2 x T5's
4th June
The first wonder of the grow broke through.
5th June
Another 2 up overnight. Only the 2 smaller seeds to go.
7th June
Time to top up pots with substrate.
9th June
Number 4 is up but looks to be struggling a little.
10th June
End of week 1 with 4/5 seeds sprouting.
Summary
That's the first week down with mixed results. Number 1 and 2 are going strong with number 3 a little smaller. Number 4 is tiny and I will make a decision on continuing with her if I think she is worth time and materials needed to grow her.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck to all involved in the contest..✌️
Looking good mate. Nice to see some Down Under grows.
Might be a bit late because you're well in to flower, but jump on the Neem powder bandwagon - it solved all of my bug issues.
@Ryder,
Nice...I'd be keen to see how it goes for you. I dissolved the neem powder in water and used it as a foliar and that got rid of my thrips problem. With my latest plant which is still just a seedling, I mixed the powder straight in to the medium before planting, so we'll see how that goes long term.
@mrgold10, thanks for the advice mate, I'll look into the powder.I do give them a folair of neem before flip but didnt treat the medium. I ordered some diatomaceous earth straight away and I'll use that when top is dry and reapply after watering when it's dry again see what happens...🤞
Another one? I haven’t noticed any pollen sacs yet, but sheesh. It’s too bad cuz it’s a nice looking strain. I’ll keep looking for hermie but I’m mostly curious to see if this can finish flowering near the end of September. Better luck next one. 😎
