Grow techniques were used earlier in this plant's life. The tied down was probably cut around week 3-4 of bloom.
They've only been under the new lights for 3-4 days at this point. I mistakenly give them pH dose aroudn this time. Also, the nutrients don't change until 2-3 weeks later, so that info is not quite accurate yet. June 6 is day 60. So, Nutrients listed start day 60. Before that it was just Jacks 3-2-1 at about 3.4g/2.2g/1g dose. I was bumping it up with new lights demanding more.
Canopy has turned nearly dark purple since this picture. It will be chopped on day 66 - Friday, June 12, 2020.
These buds are quite dense. About 35-40grams will fit in a 32oz mason jar with a little room to spare. Easily 40grams filled to the top. Even so, other seeds i've grown of thise variety were bigger yielders. The new light has only been in use for ~30 days, give or take. So, i don't expect anything hugely different. I do notice nugs are more developed deeper into plant, which is good to learn for future grows and how i choose lollipop going forward with new equipment.
Some of the axilliary shoots i bent down later in bloom expecting to be some weak-tea colas ended up being fairly decent -- still fluff because i bent it udnerneath. These are generally from an overcrowded area and too late that i don't want ot cut the plant needlessly. Most definitely thikcer, and had it been exposed to light it would not have grown so leafy. Either way, i get a little more bubble hash from this positive development.
At this point, new formula has been in use for a couple days, lol.
This is a deceptively old plant. Some cheap coco delayed vege growth significantly. Cut February 3, 2020. It is 129 days old as of day 65 of bloom (week 10, but that'll be a harvest so i'll enter that when i chop tomorrow.) It took 38 days for growth to be approaching vigorous (Mar12). It entered bloom on Apr 7. In 4 weeks it exploded, but before that it was a total turd bucket. I've washed and buffered what i used for the ggxww and durban poison journals, but i think it needed more, as i see some of that same slow-down early, but significantly less. No complete stall, but a little slow, nonetheless.
Pulled a 2nd nanner and i just want to be done with this plant after 1 year. Two more harvests of GGxWW. Unless the new journal's phenotype is significantly different, i'll no longer keep this in the stable.
I've added close to 100 grams of bud to the hash bin. I don't weigh wet bud. I won't have an accurate wegiht for this harvest. I'll weigh what is in the racks, but the stuff in freezer won't ever dry and likely won't be included. I'll add the bubble has weight to this comment section - more likely after harvesting the next plant.
I will convert it to bubble hash the moment I have another option in stock. Not so bad as I will make tons of bubble hash when I finally harvest something new. There's hope my current GGxWW diary does not have the same ovule problem, as it is not a clone. Crossing fingers on the power of meosis. Otherwise, a ton more bubble hash on the way.
I was going to chop this early in an attempt to avoid maturation and hardening of the ovules, but the benefits of seeing how lights impacted harvest was woth it. Either I had the lights a tad too close, or I waited 1 day too long as the foxtailing went crazy. I saw the beginning of 3 nanners while trimming, too. May have pulled 2-3 entire time before harvest. Even so, the trichomes were only 10-20% amber.
Dry Weight Update, coming soon as it is ready.
June 15 - Update
3 days and a few hours of drying. The smaller nugs are a bit dryer than I like. Placed a bit over 4oz of buds in 4 32-ounce mason jars with 58% boveda packs and stored in a dark place / coolest room I have avaiable. They are about 80% full. The top colas I am leaving at least overnight. I'll likely put them in jars to even out moisture, then place back on rack for another night tomorrow. Not sure how it dried so fast as humidity around here was high and night temps were in 50s.
Smells better than previous clones' harvests, surprisingly. Almost a fruity smell this time. I have smoked some fluff bits early on, but cannot comment on taste yet. It isn't as dense as previous genetic clones of same plant. I'll chalk that up to environmental conditions being a bit warmer with more humidity. I have a 32-ounce mason jar a bit fuller with previous harvest and it's well over 40grams of very dense nugs. This stuff might push 35g to brim in jar. Even so, i think the quality will be better. Should have 200 g of smokeable nugs and the 2 freezer bags full of fluff for hash it another 100g. This is not a high yielding plant compared to previous seeds I germinated of this strain. Maybe, 50-75 lighter for similar-sized plant. It does produce a good amount of trichomes, but it definitely has an ovule issue. Next harvest of the last cloe will be entirely turned to hash.
When it's all dried, i'll get some pictures of measurements. I'll do this a few times, after that it'll just be pictures of jars. I can't weigh 100s of grams easily.
Jun 17 - Update
Well the small bits are dry and staying in jars with 58% boveda packs. Took 36hours or more for the larger top colas to reach equillibrium (no boveda packs). They are now back in the drying rack for at least 12-24 hours. Definitely ~8oz of buds not counting hash nugs. Next plant will be 100% bubble hash, because .. ovules.. The remnants of this once i have a harvest with something new will also be processed into hash. Light yield, but feel a bit better about it. Density of nugs is better than i thought. I think not trimming as well last time made me think they were bigger nugs last time than this harvest's turnout.
Smoked a joint on the 16th and it almost had some taste to it... good sign this early.. and surprising given how fast it dried.
June 20th - Final Update.
Surprisingly hit 238grams from the 7 jars in picture. Should get 20-30 grams of 25u-120u hash, too.
This harvest was only 29 days under the new lights. It'll be interesting to see the next harvest that has slightly more, then the following which is almost entirely under the new lights from start to finish, including vast majority of vegetative phase. I'll be adjusting things until i clear 1.5g/w as a goal.
Drying notes has an error. I was assuming it was dry at that earlier date - left a "maybe" out. Until i weighed it on the 19th and 20th, I had no idea for certain.
Forgot to mention, I'll give these 30 days to cure before smoking any. I'll burp them fairly often to avoid anaerobic growth. Can easily recharge extra use on boveda packs. Sealed jars are not ideal for curing, but it's a simple and easy option with something similar to a boveda pack.
