Project Bud V1

All seeds sprouted by day 9. Introduced first nute feed on Day 11. Increased light power from 200W to 400W but temperature of room has increased to 37c. May have to introduce a second extractor fan to blow cool air into tent or adjust height of oscillating fan as it is currently hanging from the roof. Showing good progression so far, but since it is my first grow, i'm not 100% sure if what i'm doing is correct.

The girls have shown a lot of growth this week. I fixed an issue where the temperature was too high due to poor ventilation. Also increased their nutrient intake. At the moment, i only have to feed them twice per week (nute and water in between). Hoping Lisa will have grown 5 nodes by next week so i can start topping her.

The girls are in their final weeks of veg and showing signs that they are entering pre-flower stage. I know i shouldn't have favorites but Lisa is by far my proudest. I'm excited to see how she will enter into flowering compared to the late sprouters. I tried to LST yesterday but i don't think i did it effectively as i wasn't able to make a wide enough canopy. Jennie was too bushy whilst Jisoo & Rose are too short. I only fan tucked for Lisa and try to train it so that the fan leaves are not in the way of newer ones. Going to increase Nute strength in tomorrow's feeding and hopefully we'll start too see them flower this week. The amount of growth in the last 7 days has been the most so far!

Wrapping up week 5, the girls have entered the pre-flower stretch with 2 in the group starting to form budlets. I stopped LST training because i think i didn't do it correctly and they got to a point where i could no longer tie them down securely without worrying they will snap. Instead, i have focused on leaf tucking and the girls seem to like that. You can really see significant growth with the other branches stretching outwards and up. This has also caused an issue with overcrowding. I will have to place them on the floor from now on as they have been suspended on boxes so the light does not have to be lowered too much (avoid heat). I will relocate them so they have more horizontal space to really stretch out when i introduce the flowering nutes in tomorrow's feed. Flowering season has officially begun! 🙌

The girls are adapting to flowering well. I started off this week with feeding them the Bloom nutes. I gave Lisa and Jennie full strength whilst Jisoo and Rose only got half due to their size and development. Starting to run out of horizontal space so i'll probably have to introduce a SCROG net next season to control their horizontal growth and attempt to increase yield. I accidentally gave them B 52 instead of Voodoo juice in this week's feeding but will add Voodoo Juice in next feeding. I suspect i've been overwatering them by giving them 2.5ml each time. I'll reduce to 2ml from now on and see if they take it well. I also think Lisa is a Sativa rather than an Indica dominant strain, even though the seeds came in the same pack. Lisa's leaves are thinner and longer compared to her sisters and her height is significantly taller than the rest. I don't mind though because now i'll have some day-time bud to enjoy 😬

Gave the girls their first haircut this week. I think i may have been a bit aggressive with Jennie and trimmed more than i should've. This might have shocked her a little bit so hopefully she will bounce back stronger this week. Corrected the B52 and replaced it with Voodoo Juice this week. Think i'll go with another week of Voodoo Juice and then introduce the bud fattening nutrients so they can really start to develop their flowers. No major updates this week. Half way there, now the real challenge begins!

Had to suffer through the heatwave this week, meaning that the girls may have suffered from heat stress during the day too. I introduced Big bud nutrients and will keep this feeding regimen for the next 2 weeks. After this, i will introduce overdrive in the final weeks before flushing. Jennie seems to be developing at a pace where she will finish first. Her buds have increased in size by the day and becoming very frosty. I suspected that Lisa may have adopted more Sativa traits and i can confirm this as she looks vastly difference in size and leaf shape from the others. Her buds are also taking more time to develop and doesn't seem to have shown any development yet.

Another week of heat wave this week, so i decided to keep the fans on 24hours to keep the temperature at around 28 degrees and humidity at around 50-70%. The girls looks like they are doing great and have survived 4 days of no water as i had to leave town for the weekend. Came back to see Jennie packing on more weight to her buds, to a point where her top cola is swaying as the top bud is getting too heavy. Had to tie Lisa down as she was growing too tall with a weak stalk. Can start to see her buds packing on some weight, but still no where close to what the other girls are producing. Jisoo really came out and surprised me because i was most worried about her in the beginning since she sprouted last and showed very slow signs of development. Just gonna let Rose keep doing her thing and hopefully and i will harvest her when she is ready.

I decided to extend the feeding schedule and add in an extra week of Big Bud before i kick it into Overdrive. This has given me some headaches because the buds on Lisa and Jennie are getting really heavy so i had to tie them up with some wire just so they don't bend over. I'm worried some of the weaker branches might snap because the tops are getting really fat! Other than that, everything seems to be going well. The temperature has reduced back down as we recover from the heatwave from the previous 2 weeks. I am still not noticing any trichomes on Lisa and this is really starting to worry me as we are now approaching 2 weeks before flush. It is now really clear that Lisa is Sativa dominant so i understand why the buds are fluffy and airy, but still no signs of trichomes is somewhat concerning. Really proud of how Rose bounced back and growing into a fine specimen. Her structure seems sturdy and i'm confident she will be able to sustain a lot of weight. Too bad the Big Bud feeding window has now ended. At the moment, it looks like Jennie may have the highest yield but who knows, Rose might come out and surprise us..can't wait!

Nearing the end of the nute feeding regimen. Going to feed the girls 1 more week of Overdrive and then start flushing them for 2 weeks. Jennie's buds are literally exploding with trichomes. Really dense. Counting down the days until harvest.

Its a sad week because Jisoo has been hit with bud rot 😭 This was most likely due to high humidity levels in the tent. During the heatwave, the tent would reach up to 90% RH after being watered/fed. The 2 weeks after the heatwave was raining so humidity levels stayed at around 65%. I had to chop her top off as the rot was affecting the main stem. Not all is lost as i managed to salvage the healthier parts at the top and proceed to do a test run of drying them. Not expecting much since i had to chop the top without flushing so the buds had quite a grassy smell. The buds are now completely dried and i've started to cure the samples. Since it's my first grow and i was anxious since i had found the bud rot, i decided to start the flushing process this week so i can harvest them next saturday. I checked the trichomes and they seem to be mostly cloudy with a minimal around turning amber.

Officially counting down the days till i harvest the ladies! Going to flush them one last time on thursday with PH'd water and then it's 48 hours of darkness before the big chop!

Easy strain to grow. Certainly gives me more confidence as a cultivator now that the i have my first grow in the bag! Season 2 coming soon!
