Day 1 (26/05): The seedling has popped out of the soil today which marks its first day! I need to fix the lighting when I take pictures because they are turning out a bit yellow, it is more green in real life. The temperatures are a bit high in the tent so I will be thinking of solutions. The humidity is also quite difficult to keep high as we do not have a humidifier so I am needing to spray the tent with water and we've put plates filled with water in the tent as well to keep the temperatures low and the humidity high. However, they only need high humidity during the seedling and veg stage so it shouldn’t be too much of a concern. Day 2 (27/05): I forgot to take a picture today but the seedling is growing strong and already catching up with the other strain in the tent even though it’s 2 days behind. Reduced the intensity of the light to about half temporarily to make sure that the temperatures stay cool (was reaching nearly 30C in the afternoon). Temperature in the evening was 24.1C and humidity at 44%. Day 3 (28/05): The picture of day 3 represents the true colour of the seedling much better but so happy to see that it already has its first 2 sets of leaves and growing a tiny new set. It is very healthy and strong and I think it will catch up and even overtake the Green Gelatos in the tent. Trying to keep the temperatures lower during the day by spraying more water and replacing the plates of water with colder water when it warms up. Day 4 (29/05): I am having the same issue with the lighting of the photos again and can’t get the phone to focus and not look so yellow… Although the third set of leaves is growing well and the seedling looks strong and happy. Still keeping the light at 50% intensity because otherwise the temperatures are too high and it seems to be helping. Day 5 (30/05): I am having the same issue with the lighting of the photos again and can’t get the phone to focus on the plant properly, but it is growing well. Today I started giving all of the seedlings in the tent BioBizz Root Juice (4ml/L) of about 0.2L of water just before lights off at 17:00. This will help with the root development and make sure that it focuses on growing roots during the “night time”. Day 6 (31/05): The seedling is growing strong and big. I have noticed that the first leaves are quite different to the Green Gelato strain as they are more round rather than the typical spikey leaves. Nevertheless, it seems happy with the soil and the watering level (200ml per 2 days). The temperatures are around 28-29C during the day and 23-24C at lights off. I am trying to keep the humidity at a happy 50%. Day 7 (01/06): I forgot to take a picture of the AK by itself today but it is the pot in the background. This is actually good to compare it to the Green Gelato strains. It has pretty much caught up in size (it is even bigger than one of the GG plants) but it has less of the new leaves. But by the looks of it, I think it will grow out both of the GGs. The temperatures were reaching 30C again so I have read online that it could help to keep frozen bottles to decrease temperatures, which is what I started doing and that dropped the temperatures to 26-27C.

Day 8 (02/06): The AK is growing amazing, its leaves are super big and it’s already growing another set of new leaves. Based on feedback from my other GG diary, I started watering at lights on instead of lights off because the girls could be getting cold with the lights off, wet soil and the fan blowing which makes sense. Humidity remains stable between 45-50% and temperatures are 26-28C. Day 9 (03/06): I finally figured out the problem with the lighting and the pictures now pretty much represent the true colour of the leaves. It is growing super fast and there are already new leaves on the bottom pairs of the first leaves. The stem is quite sturdy already, I test this by turning the pot to different sides (left and right 90 degrees) to see whether the plans stands straight still or if it leans and this seedling does not lean. Looks good, can’t wait to see it grow even more in this week! Day 10 (04/06): My god, it’s like it blew up overnight, it just grew 4 new leaves! Seems like it’s definitely racing the other strain as if trying to prove something 😄 It’s looking super healthy and the fast growth means that it’s happy, so I’m happy. Also noticed today that if you smell up close in the centre it is starting to smell beautiful 😍 Today was the last feeding of Root Juice as well because it has gone past the 1st week that was suggested on the feeding chart but I thought I would still give it Root Juice before moving it to a bigger pot in a few days. Day 11 (05/06): It just keeps growing faster and faster! Today the new leaves are already big and there are so many more new leaves starting to growing along the stem as can be seen in the second picture. I have noticed though that the leaves are a bit curly, if you look on the second picture from the side. I googled this and it does not seem the same as when the leaves curl at the ends because of overwatering because the new leaves are curly as well. I think this just might be particular to the strain but I am keeping an eye on it. The leaves are also outgrowing the small pot as they are much larger now so we will be replanting all 3 girls in the tent tomorrow into bigger pots. Day 12 (06/06): Today was the big day of replanting. We took the AK and the other girls out of the small pots carefully and planted them into bigger square 18L pots. The soil in these pots is Plagron All Mix which already has nutrients in it. This was not my first choice as I initially wanted BioBizz All Mix or Plagron Batmix but they had run out of stock of those unfortunately for us. However, as the soil is still organic and has a good composition it should work just fine with the BioBizz nutrients. I fed them some BioBizz Bio Heaven before the transplant (1ml/500ml between three plants), which should promote nutrient absorption. However, for the next week we will be feeding them just water for as we want them to adjust to the new soil and make sure they do not get nutrient burn. As can be seen in the comparison picture of all 3 girls, the AK is definitely catching up! Day 13 (07/06): The AK seems to be adjusting to the new soil well as it hasn’t stunted its growth at all, if anything it made it grow even faster! It will probably start growing even faster as the roots start to reach the nutrients. There are so many new leaves on the stem, it’s super exciting! Today I just sprayed it a little to keep them cool and the light intensity has been increased back to 100% so I will keep an eye on the temperatures but today they were 28C during the day and 25C during the “night” and the humidity remains stable between 45-50%. Day 14 (08/06): It’s growing so fast I’m struggling to keep track of all the changes and the new leaves forming. It is looking great and the new leaves are not growing curly anymore so I think it must just be this strain and the way it grows its first leaves. It is finally looking like a great cannabis plant with its fan leaves all big! Today I fed it about 300ml just around the centre where the roots are currently, with each watering I will be increasing it slightly to accommodate for the growing roots and keep them happy.

Day 15 (09/06): The AK is growing so fast that it already has pistils!! It is becoming so much bigger with so many new leaves and now pistils as well. I think that towards the end of the week it will be ready for low stress training. I also think that the roots have now reached the nutrients in the soil because it grew a crazy amount in one day. Keeping the humidity between 45-50% and the temperatures between 26-28C. Day 16 (10/06): The AK is getting pistils all over the plant now, on the stem and even little pistils on the new leaves that are growing. At this point it has already outgrown its sisters (the Green Gelatos) and it is growing taller as well. Day 17 (11/06:) It literally feels like it’s exploding in growth! So many new leaves that will be colas soon. It is definitely growing much more vertically than its sisters and the leaves and stems are more spread out while the Green Gelato is more bushy. I think this AK will be easier to train and expose the new colas that grow as well. The trunk is very thick but not yet stiff so we will wait one more day for it to grow a little bit and then start training. Exciting! Day 18 (12/06): When I measured the AK today it was already over 20cm (in comparison the tallest Green Gelato is 15cm, which is in the background of the photo on the left). Not that many updates today, growing really healthy and strong and it seems to be happy with the environment and the watering quantity. Day 19 (13/06): It is sooooo tall. I quite like how spread out everything it, it’s so much easier to see what’s happening and what new leaves and pistils are forming. I can also already see colas forming at the top and some at the bottom so training will start tomorrow 😄 I think it’s gonna start growing even more when we are training it because it will be exposed to more light. Can’t wait! Day 20 (14/06): So the training started today and we were amazed by this AK. We tied it down to one side first with some garden wire to the side of the pot into which I cut holes, and after a few hours it was already pointing up to the light again! It is so resilient and seems to be thriving. Time for these new colas to be exposed to some light! I’ve also noticed that the humidity is very stable, which might be because there is more soil and water evaporating from it. But we will be doing low stress-training over the next week and adjusting leaves and stems as needed. Also before we started training, I fed all of the girls 500ml each of water with BioBizz BioGrow (1ml/L) and BioHeaven (2ml/L), and this is what they will be fed every other day for the next week (because the soil gets dry quite quickly even when checking an inch deep). Day 21 (15/06): The training continues! We readjust the garden wire to bring down the colas and spread them apart so they can all grow simultaneously. We adjust the training twice a day, once in the morning at 9am and the second time before lights out at 5pm and it seems to be going really well.

Day 22 (16/06): Continuing the training, just trying to keep everything as far apart as possible so that all the colas can get light. Already noticed that there are some new leaves and colas growing in the centres of smaller stem and even some on the main stem. Today I fed them their nutrients and as I assume the roots are now reaching all of the soil, I have watered all over with a bit more water (800 ml per plant). I feed them in the mornings now so they can time to absorb the nutrients throughout the day. Day 23 (17/06): The colas are already looking so juicy and delicious and it’s just the start! I would say that it is starting to flower now but I will still keep this under vegetative section of the diary because we are still doing training. To be honest, I think we started the training too late but the AK is still quite bendy and wasn’t resisting the training, I think it just might have flowered a bit too early. Day 24 (18/06): The AK is growing massive, it is definitely going to give huge yield as it’s already growing out of the pot (hopefully there is enough space for all the roots underground!). It smells amazing as well with all the pistils and it is actually still quite easy to make adjustments with the smaller branches (you can see if you compare day 23 and day 22 pictures where we are trying to adjust the stems to expose more of the colas. It’s thriving! Day 25 (19/06): The AK is growing really well, there are already clusters of colas but even where it is a bit empty there are new colas and leaves growing! We are scared we won’t have enough space to contain this girl 😁 I am still feeding 800ml and it seems to last 2-3 days but I do let the soil get quite dry so I will be increasing the watering to 1L each at next watering because I think she is taking up much more water now if the soil is able to get dry within even one day. Since I think it is safe to assume that it has entered flowering, I have added some more nutrients to the mix. I am now using BioHeaven (2ml/L), BioGrow (1ml/L), BioBloom (1ml/L), and TopMax (1ml/L) to promote blooming Day 26 (20/06): Not that many updates today, just trying to rotate the pot around to expose the different budlets to the centre of the tent where the light is highly concentrated. Can’t wait for this beautiful girl to continue growing, and at this rate it will be the first ready for harvest! Day 27 (21/06): Today I’ve noticed that the AK has a purple-ish tint to the stems that are growing fan leaves (the bud stems seem to be purely green). I’ve also quickly read about this and it seems like it could either be because of the exposure to the light, making it a little “tan” or it could be magnesium deficiency but since it is only slightly purple and not as red/purple as on the pictures online, it don’t think it is anything to worry about either. Will keep a close eye on the AK and GGs as their stems are also purple. But other than that, there are so many new tiny leaves growing in the middle of the plant where it is most exposed so can’t wait until they grow up! I’ve also increased the water to 1L today and it should last about 2-3 days, and I am continuing with the same nutrients Day 28 (22/06): Not that many updates today as well, temperatures are at about 28C but the humidity is around 40-45% and I try to keep it a bit higher because it is naturally quite dry in the tent especially with the lights at 100%. But I did manage to get a beautiful picture of the main bud in all of its pistil glory 🌿 This is just taken with my phone on 2x zoom, might need to invest in a nice macro camera… 🤨

Day 29 (23/06): Today was extremely hot in the Netherlands, and will be for the next few days as well with day temperatures reaching 31C in the tent. I have prepared two frozen bottles to replace during the day while the lights are on but hopefully they won’t suffer too much. I think all three of the girls will need to watered every other day during these hot days because I noticed the soil dries up much faster. So today I fed the AK and the other girls 1L each with the normal nutrients. Day 30 (24/06): Not that many updates today, still very very hot (hence the bottle in the background 😃 But the smaller budlets are definitely catching up to the main ones in the right bottom corner. We are trying to keep the smaller budlets closer to the light now so they can catch up, so the pot will be rotated this way for a bit. I just can’t believe how fast and big it’s growing Day 31 (25/06): Today was an extremely hot day and the temperature was 32C when I woke up so I quickly replaced the bottles but even then it only drops the temperature for a few degrees. It seems like tomorrow will be the last day of the heatwave and it will start raining after that so hopefully the temperatures will go below 30C again. I was also initially planning on watering today but when I put my finger in the soil it wasn’t completely dry (probably because I increased the watering to 1L) so I will water tomorrow instead. Day 32 (26/06): Today is the last day of the heatwave but it was definitely the hottest, temperature inside the tent in the morning was 34C. I’ve managed to drop it down to 31C but it stayed at 31C the whole day, and thankfully it started raining towards the nighttime so the temperature dropped to 28C. Unfortunately there was not much we could do because we are suffering from the heat ourselves, hopefully this heatwave doesn’t affect their growth too much. Other than that, I fed the AK 1L of water with the normal nutrients and it looks happy. Day 33 (27/06): Today the temperatures have decreased by the tent was still quite hot so I sprayed some water a few times to cool them girls down and still using ice bottles to cool down the overall temperature inside. AK is doing great and flourishing, there are so many budlets now and the ones on smaller branches are now becoming almost as big as the main branch colas. I was reading about BioBizz nutrients and apparently the guide that the give in terms of how much to give of each nutrient is just a guideline and it needs to be adjusted to each plant which might be why the very first leaves (they aren’t even fan leaves) are going yellow. But it might also be that it is just the first leaves about to fall off since they are probably not needed. Will keep an eye on it to see if more of the fan leaves start yellowing. Day 34 (28/06): Today we’ve readjusted the training a little bit to give some space to the new budlets that are growing. The stems are becoming more stiff and less flexible so we are being extra careful to not damage her (like we did accidentally with our other Green Gelatos). It is crazy how big the buds are growing and we can already tell that it will be an amazing and big yield. I also decided not to water the girls today because the soil was quite wet and I want to avoid over watering to eliminate that as the cause of yellowing of leaves for sure. The temperature is getting lower so it stayed below 30C today with the ice bottle still inside but I’ve had to spray today to increase the humidity so we will definitely consider buying a humidifier for the next grow to control the environment a little easier. Day 35 (29/06): AK is doing great, the buds are thickening up and they are definitely looking really healthy. Feeding with the same nutrients still and haven’t increased any of the quantities as I want to wait and see if it happy because I don’t want to overfeed it with too many nutrients if it doesn’t need them. Overall, really good growth in week 5 and it has definitely grown when comparing it to the photos at the beginning of the week!

Day 36 (30/06): The AK is growing super healthy so far, I do not see any big problems with it except for the two first leaves that are going a bit yellow but I think those leaves could just fall off soon because the plant does not need them. Other than that, it is still growing the small budlets at the base of the stem but I am not sure how big they are going to grow in the end. We have also noticed that the pistils are getting more orange which means that it should it be in the mid-flower stage. Can’t wait! Day 37 (01/07): Not that many updates today, the temperatures are still just under 30C but there is a small fan constantly blowing on the plants so hopefully they are not too hot. The AK is definitely still doing the best although there are trichomes forming on the Green Gelatos already and I don’t see any on the AK yet but I think that it just the difference between the strains since trichomes should really be showing towards the end of flower. But it is growing really well. Day 38 (02/07): Today I actually noticed that there are two more fan leaves which are starting to turn yellow, they are below the canopy so they might not be getting enough light but one of the Green Gelatos is having quite a few yellow leaves which got me thinking that this could either be stress from the relatively high temperatures, could be that the leaves are below and just not getting enough light or another thought that I had is I could be underwatering them per feeding. I give them 1L each and it lasts 2-3 days (2.5 days realistically because I feed them at different times and just check for the soil being dry enough at a few inches deep). What this could be doing is maybe there are roots all the way at the bottom which are not receiving enough water with the nutrients (because I do not see run off when I water them) and it could be just not absorbing all of the nutrients that it is being fed (or absorbing only a fraction). So today I will increase the feeding to 1.5L per plant with the same nutrients (although I still did not see runoff but I don’t want to drown them). I will see if this helps in stopping the yellowing and judge from there. Day 39 (03/07): Today I noticed that there some leaves on the AK that are turning light green in a patchy way. There are also some leaves that are drying a bit more now. From what I can tell it could be a nitrogen deficiency as I have been feeding it just 1 ml/L of BioBloom but according to the chart I should have increased it to 2-3ml/L by now so maybe it is not getting enough nutrients. I was worried to feed it too much so that’s why I haven’t increased it according to the chart. I do want to ask the community through what they think about what deficiency it could be. Day 40 (04/07): Today we noticed that there was mould on the big fan leaves that were yellowing and drying so we have just cut them off to prevent the mould from spreading to other leaves and so the plant does not waste its energy on the leaves. My partner had also rearranged some of the stems to give more space to the buds so that they all get enough light. We also put some of the fan leaves on top (but not covering buds) to see whether it will stop turning green if it gets enough light. Day 41 (05/07): The temperatures were still staying at 30 degrees throughout the past week for all of the girls in the tent and although the frozen bottles help reduce it by a few degrees, it wasn’t really working well at keeping it below 28C. So we have decided to decrease the intensity of the light to about 80% because at the moment it seemed like it was doing more harm than good at 100% intensity and putting the girls through stress. We’ll see if this helps throughout the next week but I’m hoping to keep temperatures below 28C while they are in flower. I have also the AK today with 1.5 litres of water as usual but I have increased the BioBloom to 2ml per 1.5 L and BioHeaven to 3ml per 1.5 L so it is still less than recommended but didn’t want to drastically increase. I did also see run off after I watered so that is a good sign that the nutrients are reaching all of the roots at the bottom as well so I will see whether the colour of the leaves will darken and improve over the next week. Day 42 (06/07): The temperatures today have already been better and it was at 28C when I woke up which means that turning the lights down a bit to 80% intensity is definitely helping. While the lights were on, the temperatures have been between 26-28C and 23-24C during lights off. In terms of the yellow leaves, I don’t think they have gotten more yellow compared to yesterday but I will be asking this as a grow question today to see if anyone has any ideas why the leaves are yellow since they should be getting plenty of nutrients. Maybe it is self-defoliating like the others too. I was actually looking at the bud pictures from last week and you don’t realise the change as it’s growing but the main bud has definitely thickened up a lot now!

Hello growers! My AK has been getting some yellow leaves, big fan leaves and small new leaves at the bottom, and looks less dark green. Is this a deficiency (looks like nitrogen but I don't want to give it even more nutrients) or is it just self defoliating? Any ideas?

If you have been lowering your nitrogen. This begins to happen during flower. To me it's a sign they are sucking up nutes from inside the plant which is what your hoping for in flower so it won't effect the taste of your bud. The small low ones are probably just dying off due to lack of light. I wouldn't be worried here. Happy Growing! 👊😜

Day 43 (07/07): The lights being at 80% intensity has really helped, now we are seeing 26C-28C during lights on even without the frozen bottles inside. I am not seeing any more leaves turn yellow as well. Based on the answers for my grow question, growers have suggested that the yellowing of the leaves is probably due to the age of the plant and it will start to yellow as the buds take up the nutrients from the leaves. I have also been recommended to decrease the nitrogen nutrient (BioGrow) to 2/3 or recommended so I will be giving it 1ml/1.5L at the next watering and readjusting some of the other nutrients to prevent overfeeding. Day 44 (08/07): Not that many updates today, I am checking the AK to make sure that no new leaves are going yellow and only the older leaves are turning more yellow. Hopefully this is just the way of the plant to defoliate the unused leaves but I am making sure to wait until the fall off on their own and will only take them off myself if I find mould. Day 45 (09/07): The temperatures remain quite low, the highest it has gotten was 30C overnight but did decrease to 27C during the day. I also fed the AK today changed the nutrients based on the feedback that I have received on my grow questions to reduce the nitrogen in flowering and use two third of the recommended nutrients. I gave it 2/3 of the recommended BioGrow (so 1ml/1.5L). I have read that with BioBizz nutrients it is still important to keep giving it BioGrow until the end because of the phosphorous and other important nutrients it needs during flowering. I have also changed the dosage of BioHeaven to 3ml/1.5L (recommended 3ml/L) and even though it’s not an NPK nutrient but rather a booster, I still didn’t want to give too much. I am also giving the AK 2ml/1.5L of BioBloom (recommended 2ml/1L) and I decided to stick to the recommended dose of Top Max (1.5ml/1.5L) because it is also a booster so it can increase the size and weight of the buds. Day 46 (10/07): Not many updates from today, the AK’s buds are growing super big and the leaves that are yellow are getting a little more yellow every day but I do not see any other leaves turning yellow yet. Day 47 (11/07): Today I noticed that there was some mould on the big fan leaves so I softly pushed on the base of the stem and they came off. I have done the same to the smaller yellow leaves at the bottom and they all came off pretty easily. It seems that the AK is defoliating a little bit but it is lighter in colour than the GGs which could mean that it is also towards the end of its flowering as well and the buds are taking up all the nutrients are growing super fat! Day 48 (12/07): I’ve noticed that towards the centre of the bud there is development of trichomes, which came later than the GGs but the AK is definitely has much bigger size of buds so we will see which turns out better in the end! Other than that, not many updates today as the girls seem to be growing well. Day 49 (13/07): Today I fed the AK and as it is week 7 tomorrow, I will be increasing the nutrients slightly. I am keeping the dose of BioGrow at 1ml/1.5L (2/3rd of recommended) for the rest of the grow so that the nitrogen levels aren’t too high. I will also be keeping the BioHeaven to 3ml/1.5L (recommended 3ml/L) and might only increase it towards the end when the plant needs to uptake nutrients. I have increased the BioBloom since last week and it is now at 3ml/1.5L (recommended 3ml/L). For the TopMax the recommended is 1.5ml/1.5L but I have decided to feed them 2ml/1.5L so increase the size of buds which it should be fine as it is a booster.

Day 50 (14/07): Some more yellow leaves came off the AK today, which I am not too worried about anymore. At this point, the plant is definitely taking up all the nutrients to feed the buds are they are massive compared to the Green Gelatos. The humidity has been at 45% as usual and the temperatures are finally stable at 26-27C at lights on, which is really good conditions for the girls at flowering now. Day 51 (15/07): Today I wanted to check the progress of the trichomes and I checked with a jeweller’s loupe (60x) and they are still clear but there is definitely more now. As I was checking the trichomes I noticed that there is a bit of a stronger smell now and it smelled to me like Jasmine, so lovely and sweet No other updates apart from that Day 52 (16/07): Not that many updates today, just that the leaves are getting more yellow throughout and I hope that it is the plant just trying to get rid of useless fan leaves because all the new leaves next to the buds are all dark green and seem to not have any discolouration issues at all. Day 53 (17/07): A little dry leaf fell off the AK today so I have removed it so it doesn’t get mouldy on the soil. I was also planning to feed the girls today but the soil was still not dry enough and I would rather not overwater so I will wait until tomorrow to water and feed them. Day 54 (18/07): Today we have finally received our humidifier so we can control the RH better! Obviously at the moment the humidity is quite good but I wanted to try it today because the temperatures were reaching 30C again and I put it on the lowest setting to see what humidity it would reach. The tent humidity was between 50-55% which is good to know but I did turn it off for “lights off” because it was going above 55%. I have also fed the AK today with the same nutrients as at the last feeding and I am still seeing runoff at the bottom so I think this amount of water is good for now. I have also pushed on some drying yellow leaves and quite a few have fallen off. Day 55 (19/07): Today I checked the trichomes again on the AK and the other girls. AK definitely has less density of trichomes compared to the Green Gelatos and I’m not sure whether it will grow more of them or not but they are still mostly clear (the GGs are both half clear half cloudy now). So not sure whether the buds will develop more but it has definitely started smelling more so perhaps it needs just a bit more time and Green Gelatos are just eager on the trichomes. Day 56 (20/07): Today I noticed that the fan leaves that are yellow are starting to turn a pink-orange colour. Not sure what this means but it might just be that the buds are taking the nutrients from the leaves. The main bud is massive and almost the size of my whole hand.

Day 57 (21/07): Today I’ve noticed that the trichomes are growing bigger quite fast but the GGs are definitely ahead so will have to make a temporary box for them to dry in while the AK still finishes ripening. Day 58 (22/07): Today I watered all the girls with 1.5L of plain water as they are all nearing harvesting. The AK is not as mature as the Green Gelatos so it will need a bit more time in the tent before I can harvest it. The number of trichomes is definitely increasing and the tips of sugar leaves are starting to turn a bit purple (this is possible with this strain). Day 59 (23/07): The AK is looking and smelling beautiful today. Not that many updates but the density of the trichomes is increasing and they are definitely growing bigger. Still only about 20% are cloudy at the moment. Day 60 (24/07): Today my and my partner decided that we wanted to take off the yellowing leaves so the AK can focus on producing trichomes and on developing the flower in the late stages. I have included a picture of all the yellow leaves that I removed and they were actually pretty easy to remove as they were already weak and only needed a soft push at the base to come off. It is also getting a lot more purple now and looking very beautiful. I also noticed that the white hairs are starting to turn orange more which means it is nearing the end! Day 61 (25/07): Today I noticed that the majority of AK’s trichomes are now cloudy, I tried to get some close up pics so show but it is so difficult to get them to focus and close enough to see the colours of trichomes. This would mean that the AK needs another week or so to finish before harvesting. Day 62 (26/07): Today I watered the AK first with 1.5L of water and did not see any run off so decided to water with a total of 2L of plain water. The buds seem to be swelling up more as well but they are still quite “scruffy” and not like the Green Gelato which looks were manicured I guess. So not sure if this strain is just this way but there are still quite a lot of white pistils which means it’s not quite ready. Day 63 (27/07): Today when I checked the trichomes they were all pretty much cloudy and the pistils are now starting to become more and more orange. I think the AK will soon be ready to harvest as well!

Day 64 (28/07): Today I when I was looking closer at the AK and the bottom of the buds specifically, I noticed that there were what looked like seed bags to me. I pushed on them and they were empty so I’m not sure if that is part of the bud or if maybe the AK has started producing male parts because of the high stress from temperature changes throughout the grow. I did find a see in one of the other girls today as well which made me look closer at the AK. Not sure what these are but I guess it’s too late now to do much about it. Day 65 (29/07): Today when I checked the AK there were finally some amber trichomes but only on the leaves which is good. More and more pistils are turning orange as well which means it is finally in the final week of maturing Day 66 (30/07): Today I watered the AK with 2L of water but did not see any run off. The fan leaves are also slowly getting more yellow which makes sense from the plant being flushed. Hopefully it will be ready soon! Day 67 (31/07): I started noticing a few amber trichomes on the buds today and the pistils are also becoming more orange, however I do not think it is ready to be harvested yet for a few more days. Day 68 (01/08): Not many updates today again, really just waiting for the AK to develop more amber trichomes and become a bit more mature. Once it is mature we will be wet trimming it and drying it inside the tent. Day 69 (02/08): The AK is definitely getting more ready to harvest and hopefully will be ready on its last day of Week 10. When checking the trichomes they are definitely all cloudy and quite a few ambers now but I still wanted to give it a few days to develop the trichomes and also for the pistils to become more orange. Day 70 (03/08): When I checked the AK today I think that I should be ready now as I was reading that the white pistils can keep growing and never get orange and it’s better to judge by the trichomes. I think the trichomes have developed nicely and some pistils being white shouldn’t be a problem. We will be harvesting tomorrow as it is easier for us and will be wet trimming and hanging the buds to dry in the now empty tent! I will be trying to keep the humidity between 45-55% and the tent will be completely dark.

This strain grew really fast from the beginning, producing loads of fat buds. It was quite easy to grow and it just needed attention with training because otherwise it would grow too tall. It did not need that much water and it worked well with BioBizz nutrients and even handled 30-33C degree heat in the tent. After harvest it has quite a lot of thick roots which explains the big buds. Overall, quite an easy experience and very rewarding grow!
