Tangerine Dream and Bad Azz Kush Clones

Yayyy! The Holy Herb is finally legalized! As someone who grew up where Ganja is very illegal and treated like heroin, I fucking love Canada for legalizing it and able to grow this Magnificent Plant! Make all drugs legal and end the War on Big Pharma Corp! I am pumped for my first outdoor grow. I took clones off the mothers and will wait for them to be strong enough before I put them outside. A hybrid method because clones are ‘apparently’ little bit less resilient especially if the mothers had sickness or some type of reoccurring deficiencies.

While I flipped the soil for my tomatoes and green peppers. I decided to dedicate an area to grow the 4 clones. 2 Tangie Dream and Bad Azz Kush. It took 500L of Miracle Grow soil mix to fill the box generously. I added a grill on the bottom of the box to prevent creatures crawling from the bottom to feast on the roots. The clones from the Mothers Tangerine Dream and Bad Azz Kush are going to be my first outdoor grow and it will be interesting to see the yield. There was an ant and aphid infestation on the top soil, i applied safers insecticide and the next day the top soil was mint!

Topping combined with LST Is working out great so far since I cannot let these babies go beyond my neighbour fence. I have no idea what to expect so far because I have never used the LST and mainlining technique before. My main concern as it comes to outdoor grow is pest and bud rot but so far so good!

Only one clone has fallen behind. The top left, tangerine Dream clone 2 has been slow. The rest are thriving. That bottom wire mesh is solely to bend the branches. The idea is to fill that 20ft^2 with buds, I topped until 16 bud sites then kept bending the branches.

All the clones are doing great! They are getting bigger than their mother. End of week: Mission accomplish, the canopy is completed before flowering. Except for LST, they have been almost maintenance free.

The clones are thriving, the node spacing is very nice too. The main branches has way tighter node spacing. I defoliated the right column until 4 nodes from the top.

Flowering isn’t until late August, that is when the daylight schedule is close to 12/12. I topped some clones to even out the canopy because the tops are starting to compete. I am working on adding some side supports and a trellis net. I could have bend the main stems more horizontally but I did not have the space and it was pretty hard since they were too low to the ground. If I grow again Outdoor next season, I would plant then length wise instead of 2x2 plants. I will add 2 trellis nets, 1 before stretch and 1 after stretch. The branches are starting to sway and i want to avoid dealing with heavy colas if any. The support structure is finally complete and I added a nylon tarp to protect the buds against rain. I hope bud rot stays away 🙏🏽🙏🏽. I defoliated 2 feet off the ground and topped once more as they are growing too fast.

The tops grew through the nets and are getting thicker for the buds. I will not top again because flowering is close. I am adding more phosphorus and less nitrogen because they are growing faster than I expected! I pruned all the lower weak branches. I did lots of HST, I will post the pictures soon. ✌️🏽

The stretch is beginning now are the nodes are tight. The pistils are showing more and more except for recently topped ones. I had a mint plant growing 2ft beside the clones. The mint grew 3 times its size in 1 months and the thick roots were so deeply embedded. The roots went inside the cannabis box. The mint plant was so bushy that it became a sanctuary for spider mites which was my problem lately. One thing I learn, remove anything too bushy that is close to the ganja plants. Some plants are not harmful to weed plants but harbour mites and insects which will harm your plants.

The ladies have been stretching nicely. The clones with more branches are thicker and the ones with less branches are taller and skinner. There is nothing special going on right now, I am just waiting for the stretch to stop.

The clones have really stretched and I will place the second row of trellis. A grass hopper has been hanging around, I chased it but it came back. I spread flour all over the cannabis plants. If this does not work I will spray them with pepper and garlic mix. So far only the Tangerine Dream clones are showing white pistils, Bad Azz Kush clones are still stretching with tiny white pistils.

The stretch has stopped and the bud sites are actively forming. Bad Azz kush is behind by 1 week on flowering and Tangerine Dream has lots of pistils. I feed blooming fertilizer every 4 days and feed water everyday. They have become really dense and there will be lots of colas. I added the second trellis to support the heavy colas.

I am feeding the Tangerine Dream and Bad Azz kush clones fertilizer every 2 days and water everyday. The base has really thicken and lots pistils are coming out. I cut down on nitrogen because I am happy with the height and focusing more on phosphorus and potassium 0-50-30. Climate change is messing with the weather. We are going to have an abrupt season change in the next two weeks. I hope no bud rot issues doesn’t arise. It is already very cold at night and it rains a lot. I should have spaced the clones further apart for more air flow in between the branches!

I am having powdery mildew. I am applying sodium bicarbonate! I am having some seeds, either from hemp make cross pollination or herms around the neighborhood.

Bad azzz kush is really behind is flowering. Tangerine Dream is getting bigger and started to bulk. Weather is going to be so bad next week. RIP. I will be lucky if I harvest!

Weather is rainy and cold! The buds won’t be happy! I cut multiple small and 1 big branches because of powdery mildew. The centre is hard to reach and the mold accumulated there. The colas are getting day by day and it’s pretty cold at night! Thanks to NaHCO3, powdery mildew is gone. The only concern at this point is bud rot. The next week will be very good, lots of sun, lots of UV!

This week’s weather is great and the cola keeps getting bigger! Tangerine Dream clone 1 is almost ready to harvest. If the weather would have been bad, I would have harvested this week. But I will let it go for another week and see. TD clone 2 is behind by 2 weeks. Bad Azz Kush clones are behind by 2-3weeks. They both have long Azz flowering times :( I am lucky that the weather has been in my favour!
