Patagucci Doing my first grow! Not really into the sciency stuff, so I'm sort of just eyeballing it as I go. I germinated the seeds to make sure they would grow, and then I put it in a regular soil pot. You can see that in day 1.
I'm using 3, 60w CFL bulbs, that I plan on installing on the second bucket. Right now, they're sort of leaning against the edge of the first bucket, because installing it on the second bucket would be too high up (I think), and I didn't have enough time to cut and measure. I'm planning on installing the intake / exhaust fans, but once again I didn't have the time.

Hey mate, first of all, welcome on growdiaries!😉
May I suggest you, as a newbie, to use some sort of inert to add to the medium (clayballs, perlite) because, ok, you're not for the science, but a more oxygenated soil is the best for our lovely ladies, and as I can see, you've put the seeds into heavy soil, and a seedlings does not need it.
You could put a thin layer of soil over the seed, if don't want to push it down...

Good luck on your grow! I have pictures of my space bucket construction in my grow diary, if you want to look at a complete bucket system. If I were to build it again, I would make a few improvements, but this one is working nicely.
Also, there are tons of designs out there. You can do a search in the growdiaries for micro grows, or space buckets and see what other people are doing. I built my entire system in one afternoon and I am not mechanically inclined. I'm a retired English teacher! If it isn't a book, I'm confused!
