Hi 420 Family. So here we go! My fiance and I have decided to start our first grow - hopefully the first of many. We have done a lot of research and came up with the following setup. Autoflower Seeds from Fastbuds: 3x White Widow, 3x Purple Lemonade Soil: Freedom Farms Premium Classic (Coco Coir, Worm Castings, Compost, Perlite, Vermiculite,Volcanic Rock Dust, Bone Meal, Gypsum, Dolomite Lime, Kelp Meal, Organic Nutrients) Pots: 10L Fabric Pots (started with Jiffy Pellets) Lighting: 400Watt Sunmaster (full cycle) Nutrients: GHE FloraCoco Tri-Pack Intake: 90 Extraction: 250 That is the just of it. Without further ado, let's start! 03 Jul - Seeds soaked in water. 05 Jul - Jiffy Pellets have been prepped and seeds moved to their fist homes. Only the PL have showed mini white tips. 08 Jul - First signs of life! (Changing this to be thee first day of week one. Makes more sense to me haha..) 10 Jul - Seedlings are healthy and roots have started to move. I have transplanted them all to their final homes! 11 Jul - Things are looking good, no additional water today except for two sprays a couple of hours apart. 13 Jul - They seem to settle in well. 14 Jul - Nutrients added added at 50% of the recommended for seedlings. So far so good. 😅 Up until the morning of the 10th, they were given small doses of water and sprays frequently. The Jiffy's dried out very quickly so we kept them moist. Humidity dropped a bit to the end of the week, but seems to stabilize around 40%. Low for seedlings, but I will see how it goes. So far so good. Until the next one!

Hi 420 Family. First day after the transplant and things are already looking great. I am giving them only water for now, waiting for the second second set of leaves to start very light nutes; the soil itself claims to be quite rich enough for the first 2-4 weeks. But we will see! Also dropped the lights to 75cm, the temps are still good and leaves are looking up I will monitor it for if it is maybe too close at this age. I am looking forward to this week and can't wait for the next update! D9 - 16 Jul - Second feeding is done with the same solution strength. They seem to be doing well! The two middle ones in the top and bottom row have weird leaf shapes - not super concerned yet but keeping an eye on them. D11 - 18 Jul - They have really taken off and are doing very well. Next feeding will be later today and I will be upping the nutes a little bit they are still at half of the recommended strength for seedlings so they should be fine! EDIT: I did feed them, with 1ml/1L of each GHE FloraCoco Grow and Bloom, they LOVED it. D13 - 20 Jul - This is officially day 13 since they broke soil, and man have they grown in the past 2 days! I am very happy so far, not sure if this is fast or slow - this to me feels very fast. Haha :) NOTE: The one Purple Lemonade (middle bottom row) still looks weird. Since day 1 her leaves were oddly shaped and they have a bright green color to them... Asking the community for some help with this one. Other than that, we are misting them every couple of hours, they look like they are asking for the light at this stage. Things are looking up and really looking forward to week 3! D14 - 21 Jul - Hard lesson learnt because I had to go and be a smart-ass... Seems like I might have given too much nutrients, too early, and it hurt the one Purple Lemonade (middle, bottom row). Possibly also stunted the one on the left as well I guess. I had to water this evening and so I did just that - 500ml. I hope she recovers well... Other than that, the White Widows are loving everything I have been doing so far. I am going to play it safe for now and hold off on the nutrients in week 3, just room temperature water. So far I am happy, and from what I read on 'praying leaves', so are they (most of them)...🙏 D14 Height: WW1 - 10CM WW2 - 10CM WW3 - 11CM PL1 - 9CM PL2 - 9CM PL3 - 12CM Bless Up!

Hi 420 Family. Quick question: Would it be too early to give them quarter/third strength nutes at this stage? About 2.5 weeks old (since they broke soil).

Your diary says your soil mfg says 3-4 weeks before needing additional feeding. Please adhere to that. If you start feeding your seedlings, you may overfeed, even at 25-30% For example, I use FoxFarm Ocean Forrest, and I normally don't feed for 30-45 days. If your plants are looking good, don't force feed, "just because". If the breeder says, the strain likes nutes or not, will determine whether you start at 50%, or something less, after the 30-45 day period. If you get nute burn or lockout in veg, you can most likely grow out of it, but if you do this in flower, you will have to live with knarly looking leaves until harvest. Good luck, and good common sense down the road.👍

Hi GD peeps. How much should I be watering these 10L fabric pots? So far I have bsen doing 500ml with no run-off, and just did 1.5L with little bit of runoff. Should I soak the pot on every feed with about 1.8 to 2L, and leave until moist-dry before next feed?

Hi GD peeps! The ladies are doing well so far, but my one Purple Lemonade has been dodgy since day 1. The leaves started out oddly shaped and sort of twisted; now they are even more so and have a strange lime green color. Same everything as the rest in the tent. Any ideas...?

Hi 420 Family. So! The past couple of days have been awesome! I am loving every moment of this grow operation. I probably look at them every hour or 2, haha. It is addictive to watch them grow, and by watching them grow, I mean just that! They have had a growth spurt and it does not look like they are just going for gold! The middle bottom one seems to recover from the overdose, so I am happy about that. At least she is not stunned too much, the one on her left is considerably smaller than the two to her right but she is starting to get bushy. Overall, week 3 I think is my best start :D and I am looking forward to what else week 3 will bring! D17 - 24 Jul - So the soil was quite moist-dry (more to the dry side) this morning before their watering. I gave them each 500ml of PH'd water and will continue to do so until the end of the week - watering when they need it. I am spraying every couple of hours and so far and seem to like it! D18 - 25 Jul - WW is still getting more bushy, and the PL stretched a bit but seems to start filling up now. I will water again tomorrow! D20 - 27 Jul - They seem to be coming along nicely. One PL still in recovery, not sure how she is supposed to look in this phase, but nevertheless she is growing. Fast. I have still only given them 500ml PH'd water tonight, the last water only feeding. Day after tomorrow I am starting with light nutrients again. Let's hope for the best. D21 - 28 Jul - Good news, all of them started showing pistils, and now they are starting to pop up everywhere. End of week 3; I have only given them water this week. PL2 still looks very strange, but she is growing. I am not too sure about this one so I will be posting a grow question for some advice. I was thinking of doing some LST and defoliation, but I don't want to mess anything up. I will keep the fancy things for the next round. :) Also, starting nutes again tomorrow at a very light dose. Hi GD peeps! Thank you so much for all the help and answers so far. You are all amazing <3 So I have a question regarding the bottom single leaves (the very first ones) should I be taking them off or trimming them? They don't get much light anymore due to the larger leaves.

Hi 420 Family, So today is the start of week 4. Plants had their first nute feeding after the week of PH'd water. So far so good and they seem to love it. The WW's are bushing a lot, more than what I expected. PL seems more stretchy, especially 2 and 3; the first one is still somewhat bushy. Middle one still growing very weird, I don't know what could be causing this. Nevertheless they are growing fast. D22 - 29 Jul - I have tucked the fan leaves to allow the side branches to get more light. The WW's side branches are starting to reach the same height as the main colas, I think that is good. So far so good, and I think they are entering the pre-flowering stages. Exciting times!!26 D26 - 02 Aug - Everything seems to be going fine! The burnt Purple Lemonade is doing very well and seems to recover pretty well. The other two are just doing their thing. White Widows are also doing very well; the one seems to be more bushy than the other two, and I have spotted two wet spots on the leaves around the main cola. I am going to trim her a bit later this evening, perhaps two or three of the larger leaves on the other two WW's as well. I have upped the nutes to the "Growing" schedule, and switching them to pre-flowering nutrients on feeding after the next. They have transitioned quite quickly and they are all showing beautiful milky pistils. Super amped to see how these ladies turn out and really happy with my progress thus far. Hi 420 Family. Start of week 5 and things are looking great. These ladies have exploded... They all seem to be doing well at this point. Only problems that I can identify last week was that the stems (especially the main ones) started to wilt later in the day. They are not soft or limp, they just sort of bend slightly at the tips. I am not sure what is causing it, but about 1-2 hours after watering they seem to be fine again. I have taken off some of the larger lower leaves, like 3-4 per plant; during this process I snipped one of the main cola's mini side branches by accident... She seems to be doing okay tho. They are also starting to smell at this point and it gets a little more intense by the day. Smell is very sweet and earthy, so quite pleasant. On day 27 I gave them 700ml of water with the growing schedule nutes; yesterday they were quite dry, so I gave them 1L of plain PH'd water. This was for preparation of the pre-flowering schedule feed I will give them tomorrow. Let's see how it goes, so far so good! D32 - 8 Aug - I have taken the advice from all the comments and answers to my question; I have done some LST on all of these ladies. Only the one WW's main stem is pulled to the side, the rest already have too thick stems... For all 6 of these ladies I have pulled open the very first 4 branches from the bottom and one or two of the third set from the bottom just to open them up to more light. This was last night and the pictures are of this morning, they seem to respond very well to it. Can already see a bit more pistils and they are all facing up. Still keeping at the pre-flower nutes until the end of week 5. For now, they have had their last feeding on day 30, late the evening and I want to have them dry up a little more before I water them again - I assume by this afternoon. So far so good!! Current height: WW1 - 35CM WW2 - 35CM WW3 - 55CM PL1 - 50CM PL2 - 55CM PL3 - 58CM D35 - 11 Aug - The stretch is hopefully over soon..... They have gained about 10CM average in the past 3 days. Light is sitting at 45CM+- from tops, I have moved the tallest ones to the sides, with the shortest ones in the middle; it seems to even the distance from the light in a way. I know that I am losing a lot of light at this stage tho. Nevertheless, I have accepted my first-time-growers-fate (lol) and I can just hope for the best at this point. I have learnt a lot from this grow and I am definitely going to improve on the next one. For now, steady as it goes. Feeding approximately every 1.5 days with 1L of bloom-schedule nutes. My one Purple Lemonade has very strange leaves and some of them seem slightly deformed and lime green on the inner part of the leaves. I have flushed, and I have also done a week of just water, I reckon it is just this specific seed that was sort of bad. End of week 5 height: WW1 - 45CM WW2 - 42CM WW3 - 59CM PL1 - 60CM PL2 - 66CM PL3 - 70CM PS: In these past 4 weeks I have learnt so much from other growers here on GD, so a special thank you to each and everyone of you for guiding me thus far. :) Many blessings to everyone, stay safe and good luck with your grows.!

Hi all. So I have 6 plants with a 400w HID. 3 of them are about 10-15CM taller than the others. My light is currently about 45CM from the top of the tallest one. Would this affect the shorter plants negatively? Should I raise them to the same level and up the light to 60CM rather

Personally, I would just do some LST bending to even off the canopy. That said, the small difference in light won't cause any noticeable issues.

Hi 420 Family. So I am very concerned about the one WW.. It looks like testes haha. Is this normal? Only the one has them, and there are a couple of them on the older branches - usually two at a time and a branch node. There is one with two pistils coming out of it, the rest not.

those do look like sacs, perhaps your plant is a hermie. i have heard people picking those off and still get a good harvest, or you could cut your losses and chop her. if they are sacs they will pollenate your other plants and could ruin most of your hard work. when the plants get seeded up there is little to no smokable bud, when the plants do not get seeded they give us what we want, female buds that are dense, tasty and sticky. while the seeded up ones lose that as they focus more on making that seed. the thing about hermie plants is you can not even use the seed as the offspring will all be hermies. so you can take some time and pick them off with tweezers or chop her, or take your chances to see what happens

Hi 420 Family. Start of week 6, and we are well into the blooming stage. So far so good, these ladies have gained a lot of growth over the past 2 weeks, they have stretched a lot and have now shifted their energy into making buds. The one WW is a little ahead of the rest in maturity it seems, the other two WW's not far behind. PL's I think will flower for an extra week or two looking at the bud sites and the pistils. At this stage they are getting about 1L of bloom feed every 1.5 days but it does seem to pick up and they are getting more thirsty every watering. I guess they will eventually settle on about 1L per day. D36 - 11 Aug - All good and no complaints, other than the stretchy PL's. Let's hope they just make for awesome bud sites. D38 - 13 Aug - Steady as it goes... Bud sites are forming nicely and I have not again spotted any sacks on the WW that initial had about 6/8 sacks on the oldest branches, nodes closest to the main stem. Very happy that I didn't kill her; I am still keeping a close eye tho. The PL's have again stretched a little bit but not as much as last week, thank goodness. They were watered yesterday morning and will be letting them dry out properly before giving them another feeding. D38 Heights: WW1 - 46CM WW2 - 45CM WW3 - 62CM PL1 - 65CM PL2 - 72CM PL3 - 76CM Stay blessed and I wish you all a happy grow!

Hi 420 Family. The past 6 weeks have been up and down a bit here and there, some noob mistakes made also.... But nevertheless, things are starting to look great. All of these plants are showing quite hairy bud sites and the pistils are mostly milky. WW's are ahead by about a week or two from what I have heard from other friends and growers but we will see. I have upped the nutes a little bit this week, and also added a small about of BioBizz Bio-Bloom. Let's see how it goes! D47 - 22 Aug - So far so good. Buds are swelling up nicely and they are starting to stink (the good kind). White Widow has quite a spicy, potent smell. Purple Lemonades smell sweet and fresh (some purple in the stems and the stems of certain leaves but no purple flower yet; I do hope I get at least SOME purple flowers!). Otherwise, they seem to respond well to the nutrients I have been feeding the past 2 runs. I think for the next feeding I will add some more grow tho, the PL's seem to have a slightly larger appetite for Magnesium/Nitrogen perhaps. After that, proper flush and then some worm tea that I will brew from my leftover worm castings and the normal flowering schedule to follow. I am happy thus far and I really am enjoying this so damn much, I think I've already won this round. :) D50 - 25 Aug - Ladies are responding well to the extra nutrients, and the smells are just next level... The WW's are much more dense and are fattening up nicely. PL still a little behind I rate, pistils are mostly still straight and not as milky. Otherwise, all systems are good and happy to start week 8 tomorrow! :D I have added a heaped cup of worm castings to the top of the soil, let's hope for a great flavor and even more intense smells over the next 2 weeks! Happy growing.

Hi 420 Fam. So I would just like to get your opinion on my 3 White Widows. Only SOME brown/slight yellow orange pistils here and there. Tomorrow (26Aug) is start of week 8. Should I start flushing tomorrow to have full 2 weeks, or do these look like I can start flush from week 9?

Stop! Don't flush. You still have 5 weeks or more left in flower. I'm assuming in the other answers, they thought you meant week 8 of flower. You still have lots of time left. Wait until at least 60% of your hairs have turned red AND curled back into the flower. Just a sidenote: flushing is altogether pointless and harmful. The science is not on the side of flushing, but if you must flush, wait at least 3-4 more weeks. Cheers!

Hi 420 Family, So yesterday was start of week 8. Seems like this will be the last week of nutes for the WW at least. Then about 2 weeks of just water. They are starting to smell DELICIOUS!!! The WW's actually have quite an overbearing smell to be honest, it can get really intense especially when things are moving when watering. PL's have a very sweet and lemon'y aroma. This week I have dropped a bit on the Grow bottle, and added some more of the BioBizz Bloom. They seem to like it, I think haha. Otherwise, things are looking good and looking forward to see them fatten up this week! :D D56 - 31 Aug - Considering everything, these ladies seem to be doing well and they are all fattening up. The WW's have pretty decent main cola's, the one closest to maturity is starting to get a little purple in the top buds! The one PL also started showing some purple streaks here and there, and all of the PL's have some purple single calixes which I am pretty stoked about. Tomorrow I will do another shoot for end of the week under some proper lighting. Happy growing, and good luck everyone!

Hi 420 Family, Week 9 starting with a bang! One of the WW's is starting her flush, about 60-70% brown hairs all over. The others still have some time to go. The WW that hat had some LST on the main stem really exploded in density; the last WW is little more behind, but also getting nice and fat. As for the the PL's: one is ahead by about a week I guess, should be starting her flush end of the week possibly; the other two are slowly getting there and have started to bud quite wildly if I can put it that way. Furthermore, we have been having Loadshedding here in South Africa, again... So plants have to run under a weak LED light for about two hours every day. I make sure they don't goin complete darkness either way, but surely think that it would have an impact on harvest. Let's see how it goes. D63 - 7 Sep - WOW these WW's are amazing... The pics speak for themselves. PL's - the one is doing good, got nice and dense, while the other two aren't really fattening up as much as I had hoped. Maybe they need more time... All three of these PL's have a yellowish tint on them, and I have tried flush for a week, and even add more or less nutes, so far they haven't really responded much. Take into account that this is the first grow, and 100% my fault I am not getting the results I have hoped for. Either way, they are sticky and quite hard, just not as dense. Let's see how they perform over the next couple of days. Otherwise, I am one happy grower! :) NOTE: I took off some of the larger, burnt, or bud-shadowing leaves over the weekend. Not much tho, but did seem like it was necessary. Happy growing and stay safe out there.

Hi 420 family. Not much to report at this stage. The one WW is very close to being chopped, for some reason she also started drinking less water - not sure if that is related to harvest time... Otherwise, steady as they go! D69 - 13 Sept - So the one WW is almost ready for her chop! Thinking of pushing for 2/3 more days perhaps, but have turned to the community for some assistance! Furthermore, the others have received the first water-only feeding this afternoon (they were pretty dry at the time). I think I might be skipping on the GHE Ripen for now, a friend warned against it - I need to do some research on this. I bet the nute-free feeding was good in any case. I removed all of the burnt and super yellow leaves, or any that covered main bud sties. I have also used some more paper clips (XL sized ones) to pull side branches to the main stem, it works pretty darn well in keeping the plant upright because these buds are getting extremely heavy - some of the branches could not hold them up anymore. This also sort evened the canopy out a little, which is great of course. Plants are now a little more compactly packed (with good airflow still) for the last week or 2 before harvesting... So far I am really damn happy and I think this will be a good harvest! Next seeds will be prepped soon actually - also from FastBuds: Gorilla Cookies, Orange Sherbet, and maybe another White Widow :D. Happy growing!

Hey GD peeps, it's me again. :) Looking for some advice on this little lady for her harvest - 10 days of flushing so far. 1) Should I trim all fan leaves and leave her for 3 more days, 2) 2 days of darkness after the last three days of flushing? Any advice here would help! TY! <3

i would give her another week of flush, after that you can chop, r put in to darkness, if you can check your trichomes as that is the best way to see if the plant should be harvested, i looked at the fast buds, for that strain and they suggest a flower time of 30-35 days, most strains flower for 7-8 weeks, so if you let it go another week, you should have a better yield as well as a stronger smoke, either way with all the flushing you have done she will be ready when you are, as far as doing the dark it does not really do much except the darkness helps ripen the buds faster, so to make it easy, chop and hang when you are ready, good job on the grow

Hi 420 peeps. So I am making this post retrospectively. Had some issues with updating the diary so support had to step in. :) Thanks by the way! So pics were from this past Sunday. Today they are on 12 days of flush, and they are now going into 72 hours of darkness without water to push some extra trichome and resin production. I hope this works out as well as I hope... I am super stoked about these plants and they smell incredible!!! They are being chopped on this coming Sunday, 27 September which is day 83. I have already harvested the one WW and will post deets along with these. :) Happy growing everyone, stay safe! Bless up!
