Here in Ontario Canada we are legally allowed to grow and harvest 4 plants at our residence.
This is the first week reported for my Outdoor 4.
Plants have been in ground for 1 week. They jumped immediately in the first week outdoor, despite night temps bordering freezing.
OG Kush auto has not been planted in 5Gal pots for outside yet. They were added in Week 7.
Been a very bad year here in southern Ontario for bugs due to extended heat and drought. Anyone have any tried n true recipes for getting rid of leafhoppers? I’ve tried a lot of mild solutions but still they persist.

Hi Buddy, first advice is not to be too much concerned about bited leaves as usually they will not die, at this moment your plant has only aesthetic damages. Your girl is attacked by grasshoppers/crickets and the only remedy in addition to neem oil is to shade the whole plant with a white mosquito net. Also you can surround the bottom with rock wool, this will prevent crawling creatures from passing under the net. The net will have very little influence on the amount of light the plant receives. Hi :) I tried a mixture of alcool (400cc), Marseille soap (50 grazie) and water (200cc). You grind the soap and dilute it in hot water (don't put water+soap in the microwave I tried and it blew up lol). Then you let it cool a but and add the alcool. Spray it on the leaves (especially under the leaves) and on the stems but don't touch the buds. Treat in early morning/late evening. You may need a few applications to get rid of them. Ah yes, it may leave white soapy residues but it's no big deal.
You could also try a very smelly garlic tea (just boil some cloves) or, if you have access to a field, some nettle tea (it smells so bad you'll want to die but it's almost magical). Good luck :)
Plants had a better couple weeks now with some rain. Still hot but now there is a lot more foliage for the bugs to chew on, so plants look much better. Growing fast regardless of rain. OG Kush auto is in third week of flower. The photoperiods will start to flower in another 2-5 weeks.
Temperatures have been down over past 2 weeks averaging +27C. Had three solid days of rain that started Saturday. Blueberry-Romulan, Glookies, and Grapefruit OG have all been topped around 6’ for the home stretch.
UPDATE: the day I took this OG Kush auto pic I noticed what looked like a possible seed formation. Then I found mould. I cut out the mould and found this plant to be chocked full of premature seeds! All my plants were from feminized seeds, so there is a hermaphrodite in the mix somewhere 😡
All plants over 6' and 2 closer to 7'
Time to build a pen around these.
Not a lot of flowering happening yet.
Rain has been average.
Last high N fertilizer was given 3 weeks ago, now gave a light shot of organic bloom juice.
Sept 19 and 20 hit -1C overnight! Way too early for that. They were tarped in their compound overnight for frost protection. The grow conditions on this journal do not allow for negative temps to be reported???
All three plants were chosen for their ability to handle cold weather.
These will not get anymore nutrients now.
All are flowering strong!
Had to water them for the first time since July.
No bugs or issues at all right now.
Rebuilt the compound so it 8' now to hide the plants a little better.
Grew in 3G fabric pot and used a homemade super soil, with just one small bloom boost at start of flower.. Had two but one was hermaphrodite - killed it.
Plants are very close to finishing now with their colours really showing.
There have been 3 serious frosts to date, so plants were tarped overnight.
Slight bit of powdery mildew on the Grapefruit OG.
They stink to high hell and the new neighbour seems unimpressed, so I had a chat - we both like fishing!
The new compound I built works well.
Some reflowering still happening.
Moving along nicely!
Had another frost and 1 snow event.
GOG has more PM on it but leaves only, and smells just fantastic!!!!
1 more week until chop.
Glookies is an absolute monster!
The whole neighbourhood is trying to figure out where the skunk family is!!!
Plants never stopped flowering yet but have slowed considerably.
We had 5 major frosts and 2 snow events during this grow and all plants stood the test.
One night was -4C.
This is all coming down in two days where it is scheduled to be a +22C day.
I was very underwhelmed with the potency based on what breeder states compared to what I experienced.
It did get hit by the hermie auto OG Kush slightly - 3 seeds per quarter ounce depending where on the plant it was picked.
If you want giant buds and a huge yield, this is the strain!
Despite her beauty and decent yield for the height, this was not a potent plant. Disappointed with what should have been a very heady smoke based on her lineage. Flavour was nice but a bit harsh.
Would like to try a different breeders version of this strain because it should have been a winner.
Other than the PM and me worrying about how slow it flowered, this was a great plant to grow and smoke. The smell is phenomenal and easily drew you to it over the two other plants it grew with.
Very nice sour citrus flavour that had a sweet finish. Very recommendable.
