Hit rewind, I want to run this one back again. Remo Chemo by Dinafem, a backcross of Remo Chemo. This is attempt #2. The first go was marred by pests, greed, and amateur. Poor Mark, dedicated rep., barely able to put up with ol’ Beans. Not this time! Its time to do this the right way (no JINX). Hoping this grow is clean. Of the first, the product was concussive, but I didn’t clone it. I loved it, thus the syndication episode. This is day 2. My tent is hung mylar in an unfinished basement. I normally run just LED but I had one die on me. The fans cut out a couple days ago and by the time my friend could grab it, the damage was worse. He has no problems fixing the cheapie, but it will take time. Meanwhile, I’ll add 64 watts of fluorescent to help a bit. I still have 300 actual full spectrum watts. I will include the damaged light photos. I seeded in a peat pod in a cup of HP Pro Mix. Goal #1: CLONE.

Day 7 for Remo Chemo. I’m calling it week two to get it on cycle with my other diaries. It is the start of the week anyway. Things are progressing well, no issues!! A bit smaller than the other two.

Day 14 for Remo Chemo. A little funky colouring on some of the leaves, strange. Hang in there, little one. I transplanted this week using 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose amendment as they recommend. The medium ended up working out to 15 parts HP Pro Mix: 1 part perlite: 1 part worm castings. I also used Myke mycorrhizae. Bigger container, time to stretch. I did a tea again because of the success with other plants. This time, I reduced the strength a bit using 20 Liters of water, one cup of blood and bone meal, one cup of alfalfa meal compost, two cups of worm castings, 1 tablespoon of Gaia Green All Purpose amendment, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses. I did not have Myke on hand so I just tossed in two cups of HP Pro Mix soil, which has mycorrhizae. It would jus be trace as opposed to concentrated culture. I periodically pulsed the stew with a concrete mixer/drill and let it sit over night. The next day I diluted and fed to the plants. Probably shouldn’t have given it to this young a plant. I’ll be clear that colouring was there pre-tea, but perhaps since the transplant - not sure. I’m excited to be getting my other LED back soon. My good friend is really a machine and fixed it, sending me a few pics I’ll throw in for fun. Cheap equipment is no problem if you have a brain to fix it (not mine🐒💩). MaxPointy, overdue for a return to GrowDiaries.

Day 21 for Remo Chemo. Everything is looking good. I was a bit concerned with some leaf discolouration but maybe its fine. Ready to transplant. Got kind of a lean from handling and nitrogen. Through the week I started treating for pests as I noticed some whiteflies. I used Safer’s potassium based soap and neem oil sprayed. Better to be preventative. I repeated the overnight steeped tea again today with the same techniques including blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal compost, worm castings, Myke mycorrhizae and blackstrap molasses. Its been almost two weeks now but I will make a note that I did get my second LED back. Back to 600 actual watts.

Day 28 for Remo Chemo. Lots of things happening. Regular applications of pest treatment, potassium based soap and neem oil. I’m not letting up now! Everything was soaked before group shots, and I’m sure the plants need to work through the Potassium. Its rather obvious with this one considering how thin the new leaves are. I transplanted Remo Chemo into HP Pro Mix, a small amount of perlite added, Myke Flower mycorrhizae and 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose amendment. I gave some CalMag with watering. Average root structure. I had other non-diary plants becoming beasts, and crowding everyone out. I could tell a few of the younger plants were stretching unnecessarily. I have made some adjustments, put in some calls, and you are seeing less plants. I performed LST when I transplanted, seems to be fine, now I hope the branches can thicken up.

Day 35 for Remo Chemo. Chugging along and trying to keep up with the other plants in terms of available light. The young plants are stretching more than usual. I took two clones of decent quality today, with the potential of more later on. I’m not sure whats up with Remo, still getting a bit of leaf discoloration or paleness, despite the other plants telling me they like the 4-4-4 amendment. Just giving water with Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) every other time.

Day 42 for Remo Chemo. Transplant early in the week put this one into a larger container full of HP Pro Mix, 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose amendment and Myke Flower mycorrhizae. Average root system, but expected considering how is has lagged a bit behind its generation. Still trying to clone this one, it has been tough with the overcrowding/stretching, and this iteration of Chemo hasn’t been overly vigorous. I will keep trying until successful. Hopefully at the end of the week the tent will be cleared and I can consider further training and Remo will have much more light. Still, things seem fine and certainly gaining steam, nice wide fan leaf fingers.

Day 49 for Remo Chemo. I have adjusted for the generation of stretch by using plastic tomato cages. I ditched the larger pot and just bent them to fit the smaller container, that allowed me to twist it on, and I’ll have the option of using it if I choose to up-pot. I’m hoping this gives some support as I twist it around, and try to take clones. Sacrificing ease and show buds for the mother role. At least I’ve cleared the tent out of the giant mature plants. Going to have to apply some CalMag soon.

Day 56 for Remo Chemo. It has taken awhile, but it has adjusted to the extreme training. Slowly growing, with a wide fan leaf spread. The three tomato cages were running out of Gaia Green and I was unsure my plans, so I fed some 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow with Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Next steps to be decided. There has not been much clone action on account of the lack of speed.

Day 63 for Remo Chemo. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks of flowering remain. The tomato caged plants are so far ahead of other clones, and gaining, there is no way I could have vegged them for another seven weeks. I have to keep rolling so I moved them into flower. I top dressed with worm castings and have been trying to wash the previous plant food through. My flower tent is actually my original tent which at the moment has 546 watts of LED split between different lights. I prevent treated for pests yet again and likely the last time for these ones, I have been consistent.

Day 70 for Remo Chemo. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks of flowering remain. I finally got some stretch and I can say that Remo is sort of on a slightly longer stretch schedule. I think everything is finally in order once I’ve been able to jump into flower nutes, I gave a large dousing of 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Things have absorbed and I will let it dry out completely. My tent is on the cooler side because its LED but also because I finally got my heat pump. I always had a line in this tent but just reinstalled it for the season. At this time of year my A/C isn’t really running but I have a centralized system so I have the fan circulating air. Note that my thermostat is basically on the floor - but it is cooler until the heat is needed.

Day 77 for Remo Chemo. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks of flowering left. A little slower than others in the tent in terms of jumping into bloom, I may hold it back an extra week at the back end. Coming along though as there are pronounced bud. I fed 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) mid week, and gave water just last night as I alternate things. I’m exercising patience before getting too deep into analysis with this one. Lots of green left so the nitrogen stretch demand, and nitrogen demand for other absorption has been minimal. I missed inputting height last week so that jump is deceptive and not entirely true.

Day 84 for Remo Chemo. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks of flowering remaining. Remo hit is stride and is starting to make some noise. I would give a bit more veg. size next time. The frost is subtle, but its coming. Alternating water and food, but because of the cool temps it takes awhile to dry out. Still feeding 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag).

Day 91 for Remo Chemo. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks of flowering complete. This one is coming on hard now, starting go bulge, respectable run. Trichomes are forming everywhere, very aesthetic, with the deep green of the strain still there. Last irrigation was water as I’ve finished with the Beastie Bloomz. I will be applying Alaska Morbloom next and generally fading out thereafter. I’d like to think somewhere out there, Mark the Dinafem distributor is thinking, “Oh, not a complete f*** up this time.”

Day 98 for Remo Chemo. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks of flowering remain. Showing its bulk and orange hairs. This slow burn delay is familiar with my only other experience, the difference is this plant was grown better and with no spider mite/moonshine seasoning. I am waiting to give water and to dry out completely, and then I forsee one more food application before switching to just water. Last irrigation was 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). The smell is subtle, like it would remind me of the colour green, like a forest. Not pine. I do know the effects will be potent.

Day 105 for Remo Chemo. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks of flowering remaining. Just soaking up the last feeding now and the next irrigation will start waterings until the end. The smell has been delayed but its there just like last time, its a subtle green dank. I know the strain is super potent too. Its trying to cling to its green foliage and not outright fade but I shall win that battle too.

Day 111 for Remo Chemo. Eight weeks of flowering complete. One week of flowering to go. The smell is very subtle, it begs you to go searching for it, but its there - a lovely kick and a bit of fuel. The colours have started to really pop at the end and the buds are lovely, remember this was a slow starter. Just giving water as it dries. Nearly at the end and it will get extended darkness this week as I have other plants to flower. Stout little thing and I wonder if there would be drawbacks to growing a monster version.

Hey Beans, I was lucky enough to grow some Remo earlier this year and man am I glad I did. Beautiful looking strain and very tasty. Not a very big yielder however the potency and bag appeal make it worth your hard labour. 👌 Happy growing and good luck with the Remo Chemo😷👊
