Mmmmmm, yummy 🤤
Haha too much? This is Delicious Candy by Delicious Seeds. First thing I’ve learned, I struggle to repeatedly spell and type Delicious. This past year my friends and family did a large order on TrueNorthSeedBank, this was my friend’s outdoor selection. We exchanged seeds. Looking forward to seeing whats up as I know nothing of the provider. The genetics are Caramelo x UK Cheese.
This is day 1. My tent is just hung mylar from my unfinished basement rafters. I trap the heat by sealing the top. I typically have more wattage but in lovely timing I had a LED die on me. The fans cut out and then other parts were quick to go. This is my friend’s hobby so he is chomping at the bit, but this will take some time to rebuild. For now, I’ll re-add 64 watts of fluorescent in addition To the 300 actual full spectrum watts leftover. C’est la vie.
I seeded in a peat pod in a cup of HP Pro Mix.
Total uncharted territory with this one.
Day 6 for Delicious Candy. I know its not really week two, but it would put me on cycle with my other diaries. Lots of growth. Looks good so far! First pic is a couple days ago, of Delicious Candy, I just liked the ladybug having a nap.
Day 13 for Delicious Candy. Well, things look great. This may be the healthiest seedling I’ve ever had. The leaves are almost flawless (in terms of no surface specks or flaws). Beautiful.
I transplanted into a larger container using 4-4-4 All Purpose Gaia Green at the concentration they state. The ratio of soil worked out to be 15 parts HP Pro Mix: 1 part perlite: 1 part worm castings. I also incorporated Myke Flower mycorrhizae.
I did a tea again because of the success with other plants. This time, I reduced the strength a bit using 20 Liters of water, one cup of blood and bone meal, one cup of alfalfa meal compost, two cups of worm castings, 1 tablespoon of Gaia Green All Purpose amendment, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses. I did not have Myke on hand so I just tossed in two cups of HP Pro Mix soil, which has mycorrhizae. It would jus be trace as opposed to concentrated culture. I periodically pulsed the stew with a concrete mixer/drill and let it sit over night. The next day I diluted and fed to the plants. Even more than the rest, I have not seen anything damaging yet for the tea.
I’m excited to be getting my other LED back soon. Cheap equipment is only an obstacle if you can’t fix it. Luckily, I know a genius, well at least in some areas. This is chump work for Max Pointy who needs to come back to GrowDiaries. Included some pics he sent me. You didn’t think I fix this stuff, did you?? 🐒😝
Day 20 for Delicious Candy. I am still in love with this one. The leaves are just lovely shaped and interesting, and deep dark green without many blemishes. Transplant will come this week. I went preventative on the tent this week when I spotted a couple white flies. Sprayed everything with Safer’s potassium based soap and neem oil. Also repeated the tea involving blood and bone meal, alfalfa meal compost, worm castings, Myke mycorrhizae and blackstrap molasses. Onward! Back to 600 total actual watts as my LED was returned after last week’s updates.
Day 27 for Delicious Candy. To recap what has went on, lots of preventive peat treatment. I’m determined to keep these ones mite free. I suspect that they need far less potassium but they will have to deal. Everything was soaked pre-group shot.
I transplanted into HP Pro Mix, a small amount more of perlite, Myke Flower mycorrhizae, and 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose dry amendment. I added some CalMag with watering this time.
My tent has slowly been overcrowded by other larger plants, and non-diary plants, and so Delicious Candy as well as others were stretching. Had to do something, I took care of it, you see less plants. More room for the younger gen. I performed LST, it went well.
Day 34 for Delicious Candy. Of the three young ones, this is the most vigorous and off branching. It is stretched because of available light, but I want to keep the LST and not clone as much. I took a single clone today and I’ll have some future chances, I’m betting they take quite easily. I’m looking forward to transplanting. Just giving water and then Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) every other time.
Day 41 for Delicious Candy. Still the apple of my eye of this generation, it revealed the best root structure despite the shaky hand pic. I transplanted in HP Pro Mix, 4-4-4 Gaia Green All Purpose amendment and Myke Flower mycorrhizae. I intentionally waited to go nuts cloning this plant as I was out of of cups, and sensed it would be easy. It just off branches and is super healthy. I did take clones this time and also cleaned it up a bit. I’ll try to clear the veg. tent out a bit at the end of the week and so it should get even more light.
Day 48 for Delicious Candy. I’m sort of forcing this plant to fall in line with two others who had stretched much more ridiculously, and were crowded out. I’m using a tomato cage to stretch the plant and twist it throughout, and cloning along the way. Delicious Candy probably didn’t need the mother role like this, but I want to try to keep things organized. I’ll sacrifice some end of the line show, for the clone setup. I did clear the tent out though. I’ll have to apply some CalMag soon.
Day 55 for Delicious Candy. Things have been pretty healthy with this one, not much change. Only minor signs of nutrient deficiency or imbalance. The whole lot was running out of food though so I applied some 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow. Clones have been easy to take as it off branches. What are my plans here? Not sure.
Day 64 for Delicious Candy. One week of flowering complete, oh yeah ... its true! I was trying to time some generations with my HPS tent but plants like this one really forced my hand. So in you go (into flower). I will aim for eight more weeks to go. I top dressed with some worm castings and am just irrigating the last plant food through. I have about 546 watts of LED split between multiple lights in this tent, which is my original indoor tent.
Day 71 for Delicious Candy. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven week of flowering remaining. This plant (strain) is just a beauty. Tons of clones that successfully root, lots of off branching, nice, healthy green. Starting to get budsites. I gave 0-10–10 Alaska Morbloom with added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I got my heat pump installed and so even though the A/C isn’t really on, I have the fan circulating the total volume of air. The thermometer is right at the floor.
Day 78 for Delicious Candy. Three weeks of flowering complete, six weeks of flowering to go. This is the prize of this generation, really great off branching and growth, really good stretch, and lots of bud pop. I fed 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with added blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag) mid week, and gave water last night as I alternate to balance things. Note I let it dry out and will do so again before more food. The nitrogen depleted in stretch and continues now to facilitate other absorption as evident in the yellowing. Things look good though and I am even getting more early onset smell then others. Note I forgot to do height measurements last week so that jump is actually two weeks.
Day 85 for Delicious Candy. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks remaining. Oh DC, I love thee. Everything about this plant has a high score written all over it. The buds are beginning to become heavily covered in trichomes. I’m liking everything I’m seeing. Alternating water then 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike. Takes a bit longer as the tent is cooler.
Day 92 for Delicious Candy. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. Looking delicious, indeed. A sea of sweet smelling candy cannons. Sometimes my brain tricks me and I feel like I can sense the Cheese underneath, maybe. Last irrigation was water and now I’ll start Alaska Morbloom before fading completely after time. Looking good!
Day 99 for Delicious Candy. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks yet to go. An intermix of colours and leaf fading going on. Very nice sweet smell that gives me a vibe like Strawberry Cough did way back when. Not in that it smells like strawberries, but that it reminds you that flavour does matter as it is just a piercing aroma. I’m really excited for this one. I have one more food application left as I alternate with water. 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom next irrigation and then water for the rest.
Day 106 for Delicious Candy. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks of flowering to go. This has had an odd arc in that it zoomed in early flower but has slowed down as of late. The colours are a wonderful visual buffet similar to fall leaf colours. The smells are still sweet that bring a quiver to your knees. I anticipate this one will fade quickly. I have let it soak up the last feeding and now it will be water until the end of life.
Day 112 for Delicious Candy. Eight weeks of flowering complete, one week to go. Its now clear that this strain just grows the slender cannon type buds, comparing to the bulk patterns of other strains running side by side. The sugar leaves faded very quick. The buds look a bit mixed of orange pistils, fading colours, and just dead leaf. Then you get a whiff and its all worth it. Great aromas. Just very sweet, like if the term “sticky” had a smell. I anticipate then aromas will be worth the upcoming trim job. I’ll probably give extended time in the dark before harvest. Letz goooo!
