Week 1 update - another cloning project from some of the strongest of this years stock. She’s our pride and joy outdoors right now - pushing 7’ and we aren’t even close to the stretch yet😎.
These two cuttings were actually from the same branch (making some room for the missus’ honey suckle). One being the main tip and the other was cut off one node down, slightly smaller and less developed. There isn’t much to my method of cloning and I’m sure you could improve Rooting times with a little more environmental control. That said, with this method it’s not a matter of IF the clones root it’s WHEN. Cannabis is a very resilient plant, especially if taking the right cuttings at the appropriate time in the growth cycle.
We’ve utilized a simple 5gal. Bin with cutouts for the net pots, a small water pump direct feeding each clone and a couple of large air stones. They get misted twice a day. No humidity dome and no other attempts to coddle! Get grow’n chick, we both know that she’ll be popp’n roots soon.👍
Background
We’re going to try and flower these out early for a faster sampling. Both will be less than 3 weeks of veg. From date of cutting. It’s also going to be an interesting comparative grow between the cob flowering lights and the doubled up 100w QB’s in each cabinet. My money’s on the COB light for sure but I am expecting much better from the spiderfarmers this time around.
This one is really cool - supposed to be very orange citrusy profile with a happy uplifting indica buzz. Surprising given that she’s growing like a typical sativa dominant strain. Either way, no judging until she flowers out. Both are lookn good for now🤞.
Week 2 update - nutt’n to really tell as we waited for em to root this week. They were essentially 14 days from clip to sprout - right on Schedule and starting to show through the net pot👍. This is probably the easiest part of the grow - minus a very small top off, I run the same nute solution the whole 2 weeks without changing the res. The water pump and manifold keeps the rooters moist During this time and will give the new roots that extra little bit of solution once they start to spread out. After this, it’ll be a short few days under the full 200w of QB’s (only running 1 right now) as we move into the flowering cycle. Good things grow’n here folks🙋♂️. Hope alls well.

Week 3 update - roots have come in nicely on one. The strongest of the two Is being moved to a 5gal bucket and inmediately being put under the flowering cobs👍. The other one only got an extra few days to do her thing and establish some strength before we turned the QB cabinet to flower as well. Well see how they turn out🤟.

Week 4 update - we are officially into the transition this week with both now on a 12/12 light sched. The clone under the COB light is doing great and she’s gonna turn into something decent when she’s done - fo sho👌. As far as the weaker cutting under the QB’s is concerned, we probably forced her into this a little early - the roots are definitely spreading and advancing so she’ll still finish but might end up a little less impressive than the other due to the shrunken veg. Cycle.
I’m just glad we have these now. The mother is a massive tree grown au naturelle. She’s easily pushing 9’ right now and not seemingly anywhere near the stretch yet 😳😳😳. She’s out of sight but easily discovered by anyone that wants to take a closer look at the side of the house. Always a nail biter at flower time if someone comes along and rips it so good that we at least have a sample from the clones🤙.

Week 5 - 2nd week of the transition and what a difference a week makes when ur grow’n in water👍. The weaker cuttting is proving more vibrant in its own cabinet while the other is gett’n crowded out a little in the cob cabinet. Meh - alls well and both are look’n good. Res is stable, upped the nutes a touch and now we wait and see. Here’s hoping for a ton of extra stretch.🤞🤞🤞.

Week 6 update - come’n into the third week of transition and still crossing fingers for a longer stretch to get these girls a little bigger before they start stack’n buds. We may need these too - I’ll upload a pic of the mother later but she’s pushing like 10’, she hasn’t hit the stretch and you’ll likely be able to see ‘er over our neighbours roof😬. Pretty much a guarantee she’s gett’n jacked if anyone bothers to take a closer look. Either way, the clones are look’n good - could’ve easily kept them in the same bin based on root size right now but we’ll see how they finish out. Alls well and good stuff grow’n👍.

Week 7 update - 4th week of flower and they each really have stretched a good bit this week. Both are clearly loving their respective conditions but the one in the big cabinet is real crowded out now by the blue fires. We backed off the nute mix ever so slightly this week but it was strictly for the benefit of the blue fires which were showing some burn. These could probably take the increase but why complicate the mixing regimen right? the smell is starting to pick up a little too. These will be predictably smaller in terms of yield but so far - still very healthy little plants with more than a enough room to grow👍. As per the pic of momma - they’re from good stock😉

Week 8 update - 5th week of flower and these two running out like clockwork. The buds have thickened immensely and as per photo - we jussst happened to catch a pic of the very first two brown hairs. Both plants are proving very hearty and for their size - still guaranteed to bud out heavy👌. No changes in nute mix, a little pruning is all. We were away for a bit so I ended up taking the res.’ 2 weeks plus on all of em without a full changeout. They’ve no issues whatsoever. Seems all of our previous issues with this medium have finally been put to bed👍. Can’t wait to see how these shake out👍😎

Week 9 update - we’re into the 6th week of flower and all is on straight autopilot with these girls. They’re both small and extremely manageable so now it’s just wait’n on the finish.

Week 10 update - 7th week of flower for these girls and the differences between the cob and the qb are striking. Bud density is similar but the clone under the QB is like a 20mm shell (😎) and the one under the cob is more bulbous and stretchy (probably due to the competition next door😎😎). Either way, I’m so impressed with the dual spiderfarmers. Just one is perfect for rooting & seedlings whereas the 2 panels can truly still blow a plant up in flower. Jury’s still out on whether she rivals the 2 year old cob but surprisingly - it’s gonna be a close call I think🤙. Only issue this week was that we had previously cut out calmag as part of a nute drop for the blue fires. These girls immediately began to show calcium deficiencies within days. So we’ll have to add that back in on next res. Change but otherwise, Alls good to the finish y’all.👊

Week 11 update - into the 8th week of flower now and this girl should be runn’n out pretty soon. Still a little early to cut the nutes out so we added a little calmag back in just for safety’s sake. Probably start a flush next if she starts to round out. The smell in the cabinet is crazy a mix of that earthy kush from the blue fires blends with a really potent sweet citrus off the Cali-orange. A really awesome and obvious difference between em. As per photos the Lighting comparison is starting to get really cool now. The QB clone is such a beast at only 12” height. She’s dense and sparkly, A perfect mini-Christmas tree shape. Well rounded overall. The cob is just a straight up freak show. She’s growing top buds underneath the bottom larf at this point. I keep finding more sproutig up as a sift through the canopy too👍😎. She’s being knocked down and budding out sideways due to the light power. It ain’t as pretty but damn does it produce some serious weight🤙. These ones have been great so far. Only a couple weeks left and side by sides should be coming up soon once we chop out the blue fires🤟😎🤟.
See ya soon y’all👊.

Week 12 update - it’s the ninth week of flower and we gotta be gett’n pretty close to the end by now. I was hoping to have side by side photos available of each clone by now but the last blue fire is take’n it’s sweet ass time so probably gonna be left as a harvest thing. Either way, it’d be a shame if someone came along and swiped momma because if these buds are any indication of what to expect - woah 😳 we’re gonna have a fuck ton of cal-orange this year🙏🤞🙏. Alls well this week - cut out the calmag (again) will prob. Start on straight phd water top offs to harvest. Not long at all now folks😎👌😎

Week 13 update - almost 10 weeks of flowering to the day and the girl under the QB is done🤟. She’ll be a couple more days and then we’ll chop. The cob clone is only slightly behind her and you could probably chop er now but we’ll wait it out a little longer. The biggest surprise of the grow is the difference (actually a complete lack thereof) between the 2 fixtures. The cob should still weigh out more but the QB is neck and neck in terms of overall bud quality. I’ll save the specifics for the harvest details but there is a little taste of the comparison in the pics😉😎. Damn!😳 these are two quality plants here👍👍👍. Had em running on plain water and peroxide the last few days. Other than that, chop deets come’n up yall. This where we do the fuck’n jazz hands!!!🙌
Sep. 27 update - the QB came down today. Only a few days ahead of the girl under the cob.😎
Sep. 30 update - girl under the cob came down today. Yield def. looks higher post trim and we cut a little earlier than with the other.😎

Gotta say that this run went off like clockwork. Humble beginnings and about the most truncated veg. period possible. Yet these girls bulked out like champs. They may be small at about 14” for the tallest, but what they lack in height they made up for in girth😎👌😎. Literally giant football size head buds on each🤙. Alls we can do now is pray that no one swipes the momma at the side of the house. She’s a straigt up monstrosity. Can’t even figure yield there at this point but we’ll be in the pound scale for sure👍😎. Ive always found seedsman to be reliable as a seed bank and if this is any indication of their strain quality, we’re gonna be in for a real treat😋. Any hoo, the deets are below as per usual.
Taste & Smell: 🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭
Effects: 🍭🍭🍭🍭
Full marks for seedsman’s nose on this one. She definitely reeked of a distinctly orange kind of citrus scent. If my busted ass sniffer can pick that up, then she’s a stinker fo sho😃. It’d be great to see this profile round out in the cure but only time will tell.
Update - 7 days into the dry and she’s already starting to present some profile. Sniff’n good👍.
First quality assurance test - took a heavy rip of the bong and oh man, this one’s a winner. Initial thoughts are it’s a high energy smoke which is awesome. But it’s got a real good mix of cerebral and body buzz. I’m actually pretty surprised with the first taste test. The strain description is 100% spot on. Only 12 days dry and she’s nice and smooth with a hint of citrus already👌😎. Seedsman has struck gold here. What a straight up rock’n freebie👍👍👍😎. I don’t usually kick out a 5-er rating unless it’s something special and the scent and flavour profile on this is exactly that.👌
Medium:
Yep - still gonna beat on the DWC drum. It just gets better and easier every run. I’d say the res. Changes were sporadic at best - every 1-2 weeks give or take. Stuck with peroxide this run again instead of going with bennies via hydroguard or hygrozyme. The results speak for themselves and we pushed these clones as close as we could to ludicrous speed in terms of veg. Time. Still save’n them dolla bills on the nutes too. Any deficiency issues like the calmag that was representing in mid flower were easily spotted and addressed on the next res. Change. But again, minimal nute mixing (as well as simplistic regime) and for what we’re using in each res. - gotta be easily a 50-60% savings On nute consumption vs. More traditional methods. Honestly makes one wonder why organic soil grows are seemingly all the rage. I’ve found terp. Profiles, structure, plant health and of course yields to all be just that much better in straight water. What more can I say, we love our DWC.
Method 🎚️
Not much to say as far as method is concerned as there really wasn’t one. This whole grow was kinda spur of the moment because the cabinet was on empty. We clipped a couple clones and tortured em into submission in the quickest possible time frame. Momma outside is still probably a couple weeks away at this point.... So yes, we will be smoking the mature, dried buds of this years prized outdoor during its actual harvesting. Kinda Trippy man😎🤔.
All told the cobs are still beating out even a doubled up pair of quantum boards in a smaller space. I’ve been running this 300w Rapid LED forever and she’s just a horse of a light😎. That said and front to back on a cycle; the pair of 100w spiderfarmers Are not to be underestimated in terms of quality. I am very impressed with how well they’ve performed. Very close in comparison count wise to the cob but still with a little more agility through the veg. Cycle. I can leave one panel off while they’re sprouting and plug the other one in once they’re acclimated and on the grow. The dimmer on my cob really isn’t all that great so this gives the QB a somewhat distinct advantage.
Yield/Harvest🌴🌴🌴🌴
For what these plants are, I’m sorry but this rating is 4 palm trees all the way. Less than 3 weeks of veg. No training, minimal defoliation and very easy to trim due to the crazy bud density. Based on proportional size at only 12”-14” These girls made some massive buds👌. If you’re growing for “commercial” production and cloning off a mother; this is exactly the kind of cultivar you’re looking for (Ticks all the boxes too if ur a hobbyist with discerning taste😉). A final, impressive weigh at 2.26oz for the QB clone and a similar 2.4oz for the COB clone😎😎😎. The comparison is pretty striking, but only in how similar they both counted out in the end. Bud structure was a little different but this is due to a difference in power and focus from the cob fixture which is definitely still the front runner. If the clone in that cabinet hadn’t been crowded out by the other two, ya gotta think she’d have weighed a lot more. All told, if these girls can cure out with the same sweet orange crush scent they had at chop then this is going to be quite the treat of a strain to have in the stable👍.

@GreenHouseLab, cheers bud - appreciate that. Jury’s still out on these spiderfarmers until this cycle is done. This space seemed a little under powered with just one fixture so I bought another and some aluminum angle and squished em both in there for max light power👍. Thanks for checkn er out👊
@Rock_n_Roll_Randy, I am indeed dude. Might be interested in some custom seeds although I won’t lie - gonna have a fistful myself in a few months. What’s the details on these?
