This diarie is actually being created now that the plants have completed 1 month since germination. Its my second crop✌️🏼😁 First i tried auto seeds from FastBuds, using remo nutrients. I was able to harvest something between 150-180gs of dry bud from 3 plants. I decided to change to photoperiod strains since they can endure more training and usually gives more bud, overall. Im far from an expert but got some study on the matter.
This week there had plenty action. I bought the PPM meter along with the liquid to identify Ph. I had an eletronic Ph meter but it was trash, always had to re-calibrate. Also, the nutes i ordered was finally here. At the end of the week all tree plants seemed pretty healthy, so I've decided to top them.
Nothing special, besides the second part of the mainlining technic I've been reading about, from this guy Nebula's Haze. It involves doing one topping after the third node (arround week 3) then wait for the plant to recover so you cant topp it again. This time on the forth node of each side, also removing the second node. Now the plants have 8 nodes each. Since the 🦍 was the most stunned by the first topping, ill wait a couple more days to cut her again.
On Saturday i went visit a friend and he gave me a clone of his plant. Blue Fire its the name, from the great Humboldt Seedbank. On monday i finished the last topping process for this batch. Now on it will be just lst and maybe some supercroping later. The plants seems to be recovering well buy i decided to reduce the nutes doses so i dont mess up putting more than needed. Since the roots didn't covered all the pots yet, there's no enough water on the plates so i can measure the PPM. Its a delicate time but hopefully it will keep going well.
Well, this week i tried to pour more water in each plant so i could read the ppm in the waste. I got some high readings, arround 900-1100ppm. The plants seemed fine to me, so i cleaned the plates that I set my pots on. There's a chance that some salts accumulate on the plates so the readings were not precise. Anyway, i decided to water the plants with plain ph'd water this week to prevent any chance of stun. Hope with clean plates i'll get some better readings next time.
Do you guys think i can do good on flowering keeping the grow between 21-26c° (70-78f°)?? Since i dont have a AC there isn't much i can do about the temp rn
This week was pretty slow tbh. Again this week, i decided to keep just using water till i get some low PPM readings. Fortunately the only one that seemed to get really affected was Frisian Duck (she slowed down and got some brown patches on some leaves), more because of pH fluctuations. The other two kept growing well. Gorilla is an absolute monster, growing almost twice bigger than its sisters (even being the last seed that went to soil). Yesterday (08/08) I've got the first good PPM reading since i started flush the plants last week. Only Frisian Duck got the low readings tho, so im slowly going back with the nutes fort her, half the dosage and alternating with plain water. Luckly it doesn't shows any new brown marks on leaves too. The other plants got lower readings as well but still too high, so will be one or two more waterings with just plain pH'd water for them. Next week the rest of the ferts should arrive, including florakleen, so im not worry with excess residues on soil.
This week both my orders arrived (3x 20l fiber pots, 50l of coco soil mix, 946ml GH Liquid KoolBloom and Florakleen) so i decided to transplant the girls to the bigger pots. Before doing it, i did a little clean up on the lower and older leaves and had to cut some of the roots so they could fit in the new pots, which are taller but not larger. Im also slowly going back to give them nutes, almost half of the proportion i has giving before, alternating with plain pH'd water. Since this week was kind of stressful, im planning to give them one or two more weeks of vegging so they can grow a few more centimeters (Frisian Duck mostly) before flowering.✔️
This week i got some extra light for the grow. A friend of mine (who's also a grower) assembled four 30w/35.000k cobs for me and helped me to install them on wednesday. Now i have 520w total! Beside that, i used the cleaning solution for the first time (Flora Kleen) and ordered two new mini fans so i can retire the big one im using. Plants seem to be doing well, even Frisian Duck. The cold weather helps to keep a nice temp inside the tent.
So, this week i noticed that the plants were ready to flowering. Frisian Duck didnt reach the size i expected but the other two will compensate for her. Gorilla have 44cm and its roots are absurdly big to the point that they are perforating the fiber pot and reaching the water on the plate below. Chiclé is also doing good, with 36cm and also have big roots. I defoliated and took some clonea from them on tuesday and changed the timmer config. on wednesday so probably one more week to see some flowers.
Nothing much to say about this week besides changing the timmer to 12h of light. All plants seem healthy, even frisian duck. A heat wave hitted my city so the temperatures have been higher than normal. Hopefully they will lower on the next few weeks.
The plants got even bushier this week and started to form more bud sites. Both Gorilla and Bubbledawg stretched as hell and seem to be still growing. Frisian Duck also got bushier but grew just a few cm. This strains have a really compact structure compared to the others but also seem to have potential to grow thick buds. Overall, this was a pretty regular week, beside the heat wave that got even stronger. It seems that the temps will be higher till end of the month. Hopefully i will be able to lend an AC from a friend soon or im fearful that they will starts showing signals of stress.
This week was time for defoliation. On monday i defoliated all plants and started to give them a slight higher dosage of pk boosters and Floranova Bloom. Everything seems to be going well beside some microscopic ants that are everywhere in the house and now found out my grow. I aplied some cinnamon powder in the top soil of each pot and mixed some of it in the watering. I didn't see anymore of them since this so i suppose it worked. The rain season is about to start so the temps will get lower but the humidity will go higher but im optimistic that everything will go well. Thanks for y'all who follow my diary!
Well, this week i noticed a little nitrogen toxicity on bubbledawg and gorilla (probably caused due to continuing using relatively high dosages of CalMag till first week of flowering). Im cutting CalMag and reducing Floranova Bloom to half dosage for the next two waterings. I also flushed the plants with some flora kleen to prevent the problem to go further. Since both bubbledawg and gorilla were occupying too much space, i decided to cross the branches in a away that allow the colas to receive more light. The temperature are high again but tomorrow im getting an AC with a friend so this will not be a problem.
Pretty normal week. Beside borrowing a AC from a friend I've noticed the plants have started to fatten up the buds and stopped popping new leaves. Now its a matter of wainting patiently for the harvest.
I don't have anything to say for this week. Time seems to be moving slowly as harvest approach. Im hopping they do fatten up a little more, but who knows...
Smell got really strong this week. Im keeping the AC on most of the time so the humidity levels drop down. I think still 3 weeks to go by the trichomes looks, and the plants keep fatten up ok. Almost there
This week i checked the trichomes meticulously for the first time. I could see almost none ambar trichomes besides some on the leaves. The plants also still making new white pistils, so i moved the panel up since it may be a signal of light stress. Im planning to start the flush on next tuesday (27/10). The smell and aspect of the buds are amazing tho, covered with resin to a point that gorila is almost white! The only one im kind ofd disappointed is frisian duck, who doesn't resinate enought nor have a strong smell. Hope the flush and drying/curing can fix her. Overall, my best grow till now.
First week of flushing done. No yellow leaves yet and trichomes are looking mostly milky, almost none ambar. I already bough some nice mason jars and ordered some custom stickers with each strain name.
Second week of flushing and still no yellow leaves yet. Gorila probably have one more week left while the others seem to need two or three, by the looks. Harvest window started but i'll wait for some more amber trichomes and yellowing of leaves. 10th week of flowering done.
Im kind late in post this week diarie but there it is!
So, this week a harvested my little Humboldt's Blue Fire clone. It didn't weight too much (20g+- dried) but will be enough to wait for my main plants. The three of them got even bigger and gorilla's already showing some sparse amber trichomes. I watered all of them yesterday so I'll wait for gorilla to dry out to chop her down. Probably two or three days from now. The rest still have one or two weeks to finishpla
