Looks like I left WAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much moisture in the coco before I mixed it with soil, the pots are way too heavy for my liking. Won´t be needing watering anytime soon, maybe in the start of week 3 :D
I also do foliar feedings every night when the lights go off, I spray them a light seaweed extract. Recommended to try, all my plants in all my grows have loved that stuff!
Managed to stun my plants a bit on this week by lowering the light too low and some of the leaves started to show signs of light stress. Seems that it´s far more powerful than I tought it would be. I am starting to think that it was actually a very good purchase for 79 euros. Because of this little accident I once again followed the best advice I have ever got with autos; Run them on 24/0 as long as the conditions are perfect and there is no visible stress, when something unexpected comes along switch to 18/6. This will allow your plants to rest a bit and get over the stun sooner than continuing 24/0.
Anyway, the plants grew absolutely fantastic during the second week! So far the 50/50 coco/soil -mix seems to be doing very well, even tough there´s still far too much water in the pots.
Weeks 1 and 2 were backogged, the grow is now on day 18. I will try to update every day and maybe add a live camera feed at some point since I have a currently useless IP-camera in the drawer :)
I had to go on a weekend trip from friday to monday, I was a bit worried to leave them for even few days since I hadn´t done any feedings yet due to water residue from soaking the coco and they were on a spurt. But check the pics from the end of week 2 and the start of week 3, wow :)
yo mate! I have a "mutant" Chile in my tent, she's growing like a tree. I would suggest you to cover those white buckets to keep the roots at dark, it's better for them. You may use some aluminium foil, better than anything! Keep on growing! 🤘
Hi! Yes I checked your journal, your Chile is getting Big :D. I will cover those white buckets, I have a huge roll of black/white -plastic I am going to use for it.
Going to start flowering for Speedy on sunday when she hits 3 weeks. I was planning to veg her for 4 weeks but space is seriously going to be an issue with 60x60x140 tent and four plants so I can´t let her get any bigger.
Speedy recovered from topping very fast and is reaching for the skies! She is a very vigorious plant, seems to have good genetics, so thanks @James for always providing the highest quality :). The lime color just keeps getting better and she´s develeping very beautiful smell, fresh & fruity. Today I also received the grow tent I ordered, decided to go over the budget with it - altough it was only 50 euros from Amazon - but still a lot of money for me at the moment. The closet ain´t completely lightproof and I don´t want Speedy to go full tranny on me, and I would have problems with ventilation if I tried to seal the closet with something. I can´t drill air holes into it since it ain´t mine and I don´t want to pay for a new one :). Not sure if I will put the tent up today, because today I also received some Amnesia Haze from a friend and it seems to be doing it´s job very well, feeling a bit too soft to do anything that requies me to move :)
I hope she flowers as good as she vegs, and I am really anxious to see the actual flowering time for her. Like I mentioned earlier, I am going to take some cuttings off from her and veg them on the side while this one is flowering. I don´t know yet if I am going to do one plant with SCROG or a nine plant SOG or something from between, I have to see what happens when I put her into 12/12. @james, what do you recommend for maximum yield in 60x60x140 space, soil/coco -mix and 300w (150w true) LED? SCROG or SOG? I am going to flip lights when she is 4 weeks old, so I have a good 7 or 8 weeks to work with the cuttings and do a longer veg if I end up with one plant so vegging time ain´t an issue.
@SKELETOR, thanks for the info, the plants look healthy and well developed, it was more of a comment on the settings than a remark on the plants. Good job, it's always best to listen to the plant and adjust everything to their needs, sometimes they can be quite sensitive.
Keep up the good work ;)
@bobo420, I have tried placing it lower but leaves start to droop and curl up within couple of hours from lowering the lights. I tried 20cm, which almost killed the autos, and 30cm but they didnt seem to like that either. I will wait until they are flowering before hanging the lights lower again.
Here we go! Just followed this fresh, new and interesting diary. Since you’re growing Speedy Chile, I suggest you to follow @Endriu‘s diary as well! He has one of them, and she’s getting amazingly huge. Very cool diary!! Happy growing bud!!! 😃
Hey hey wats up buddy , i really love your low budget grow really a lot hey makes me thinks back a year ago when i just started no tent box nothing a small plant on a bucket with one damn light big up to you for this show people it can be done !! If you have the time please check out my diary "Rubob" lol guna follow if you dont mind ?!
Girls recovered from foliation much faster than I expected, cut off some leaves 24 hours ago and the new growth is clearly visible! From autos Royal Cheese is responding to LST and foliation very well, Northern Light and Stress Killer are still trying to put most of the growth into the top of main stalk. So if you are looking for an auto that is easy to train, I recommend Royal Cheese.
