Well this is my first ever hydro attempt! I’m super excited but super nervous. I’m not worried about knowing how to handle the plant, I’m worried about making sure the reservoir is kept right where it needs to be. No matter what happens I’m excited to learn this super interesting way of growing😁
Honestly, after this one DWC grow, I’m a huge believer in hydro. I started this seed with another one of the same strain, same breeder. I put one in hydro and one in coco. Both are healthy. But, wow. I would say the hydro plant is at least 5 times bigger. Huge stems and beautiful fan leaves that are a la big as my face. Can’t wait to flip her to flower eventually 🤪
This is my very first hydro plant. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to soil. I have been growing for over a year and have never been able to pull more than 20 grams off a plant, even if it was healthy it’s whole life. This plant is about double the size of most of my past grows and it’s beautiful, can’t wait to see some buds😁
Just a quick update. These were taken a week and a half apart😮 I’m still waiting on my Hydro Guard to come in, but this root zone is thriving, even without it so far!!
She is doing amazing. I have already had the chance to clip a bud off and dry it, to test it. Her taste was amazing and her high was great! She needs a little more time to fatten up but she’s getting there. One problem I noticed is a huge pH fluctuation. I messed up by not checking the pH frequently enough, causing some of the leaves to start showing the effects. When I checked, the pH was 7. I’m dumb but lesson learned. I think she’s going to be okay though from now on😁
@HighFromHome, Yep you nailed it! The forgiveness level that coco or soil has is the main reason it’s taken me so long to try any hydro set ups! But it was cheap and easy to setup so we will see what happens😂
dwc is nice and if done right you get a huge yield, a few tips for you, your water is way too high, the idea is to have a gap underneath the clay pellets of just air, now in the water you have your air stone making oxigen, if your trying to get that going you want to water by hand so the roots can breath and also they will stretch way in the bucket, now remember yur gap between the water and the bottom of you net basket, this is where the roots will eventually be stuck in air before hitting the water, but that air is a high oxygen and those roots soak it up and just take off
also after she is going for awhile and things look happy, make sure you keep an eye on ph, check your water ph every other day cause it will drift way down, your prime ph zone for dwc
is between 5.6 and 6.2 so aim for a 6, your plant will be huge and you will be hooked on dwc, good luck and i have a few dwc diaries if you need to look
