Time for another round of MSNL autos! :D
Had a bit of a rocky start with the heatwaves lately but this girl was my standout. Germinated quickly and easily - took her straight from the mail and popped her into a shot glass. I'd bought a heat mat for this round of germination trying to be all proactive and whatnot, then it was too hot to use it! Classic Tonks timing. Anywho after 14 hours she cracked and I moved her into a DVD case in damp paper towels til the next morning. Planted her in pre-soaked coco and we had a lil sprout 48 hours later. 😊
She struggled in her first week, likely due to the heat. Had the portable air con running full time but it was over 40C outside so couldn't keep it any lower than 30C in there with the lights on. Anywho she's clearly resilient so I'm really looking forward to the grow. :D
Still going strong despite all the heatwaves and being locked in cars during open houses and whatnot. :D I'm not sure if I'll top this girl, might just do some LST instead. I've only got two girls this run though so I'm keen to let her stretch her legs, give her all the space she needs. I'll see how she goes during week 3 😄
Still going strong! Decided against topping her, so I started some LST, which was not so low stress... you can see the paler patch on the stem where I overstretched a bit. WHOOPS. But she seems to have taken it well. Used plant ties and bits cut off a coat-hanger for anchors.
She was only locked in the car for 3 hours this week so I just used that as her dark period for the day, and Mr Tonks got her straight back under the light once everyone left the open house. :)
So pretty much failed at LST on this lass... the main branch was super strong early so I couldn't get it to bend sideways and go round the pot. Gonna end up with a lopsided travesty of a shape. But she's going strong! Seems to be a bit more nute sensitive than the GDP, could see some bits of tip burn starting, so I've been flushing this one every 5 days. So far so good!
Moved up to watering daily this week! Trying to keep on top of flushing so I don't burn her, but it's so bloody hot she really needs the water. I'm doing the most random feeds lol doing the silica about every 3 or 4 days, crystalic and resinator every second day (not counting flush days), Trying to keep the A and B stable throughout. She's not gonna be a huge gal but she's flowering nicely :D
The start of this week she had bit of clawing going on with the darker leaves, so I dropped the N levels down after a good flush. No further clawing so far, so fingers crossed :D
This week I had a buddy looking after the girls for a few days, headed to Melbourne for Download Fest. He did a fabo job :D No gardening experience so I left lots of notes, still impressed he got the pH sorted cause we all know how fiddly that shit is when you don't use pH perfect nutes and haven't practiced!
She's flowering really well, gonna do a big defol tomorrow and see if that helps with the deficiencies/excesses going on atm, hopefully then I can keep this low level of N without her getting much paler cause she's gone fairly bright green. Also going to add the PK Heavy next week and see if we can get those buds bulking up!
PK Heavy week! Love watching the buds explode. Definite increase in size, really happy with how she's handled it. Since she's been a little sensitive I threw in an extra flush this week, all seems to be going well! Bit of nute burn happening but this late in the game I'm more than happy with that small amount.
Still fattening up nicely from the PK week! Tried to keep it going by dropping the A and B a bit earlier than usual and using the Rock Resinator as the main nute with it's 0-7-8 NPK. Triches are looking good, couple of ambers, mostly cloudy, still a few clear. The first trich pic is of a lower bud with more clear. On track for one more week of feed and then flush time. :D
Gal is getting frosty! She's really exploded these last few weeks, big chunky buds now covered in triches. The smell has gotten crazy strong, looks like she'll be a sticky bitch to trim :D This week been just focusing on PK nutes - started getting some signs of PK excess though! Lol the last couple days of this week I started to flush early with molasses. Triches are looking good, hopefully she'll be ready to come down in about a week. I think I'll be chopping the GDP first so this gal should get an extra few days.
Flush week! Actually started the flush towards the end of last week. Solid 7 days of ph'd RO water, then in the dark for 24 hours. She faded really nicely this week, the smell has increased a lot too! Decided to chop her first, so she's coming down day 76.
What a hectic grow! Despite all the drama she came through amazing, and she sure as hell put up with a lot. Poor girl was locked in the car 8 times for open houses, dealt with heatwaves and stupidly high humidity and all sorts, but never really had any issues. Some drooping leaves midway through, bit of N excess, but all issues sorted quickly and easily. First plant of the last 6 that had 0 mould issues. Really really impressive genetics.
Buds were really dense, so was actually quite an easy trim. Knocked out the whole plant with Mr Tonks in just over 4 hours. Nice and sticky.
Dried over 5 days after trimming then into the jars for the cure. Had a bit of a sample yesterday, seems like a really nice 'up' high! Will update the smoke report once I've had a proper go at the cured buds.
The Numbers:
11L Fabric Pot
Coco/Perlite 70/30 Blend (Nutrifield)
Harvested 76 days from sprout
99gm final dry weight
UPDATE: Smoke Report
So she hasn't finished curing but the taste and smell is developing really nicely in the jars. Spicy, fruity, and sweet at the same time. Already quite smooth! Great 'up' high, energetic and euphoric. Fabulous wake n bake strain!! Good bag appeal too, the nugs were all good size with nice frost levels, and have a strong pleasant odour. :D Will be growing again!
Sorry to be mushy, but thanks to everyone on here for the comments and support. Been a particularly shitty year and it's been so nice to escape on here now and then and focus on something we all love to do and share.
Good work, congratulations. As you wrote, I like the genetics of the plant too. Grow fast is strong and big. soon I will also reap, I am looking forward.
@Tonks,
Please, I want to ask you for your opinion. When harvest? My plant is 77 days, it is still early and it seems that it will be early in the week. The smell is already strong, but the pests are not half brown. How would you reap the experience afterwards, sooner or later? thanks for the reply
@MSNL_Seeds, Truth!! I've tried letting the coco dry out completely a few times since that post but she was still living in flopsville. Earlier this week though I gave her a big defol and she perked up heaps, do you think she was just making a bit of a microclimate cause I let her get too bushy?
