Hi all! I’m back for the solo cup challenge! So I germinate my seeds in paper towel soaked in water between two plates, I put it on top of my cable box because it’s just perfectly warm. 24 hrs later the seed has popped open and is ready for planting. The solo cup has been watered 24 hrs ago to get the soilless mix ready. I just make a hole with a pen and then drop the popped seed in. I cover the seed with some soil and then water it a bit more. I’ll update with more pics throughout the week.
Going well, typical one week of growth I can’t see the solo cup causing any problems for a while. Started nutrients, my favourite (advanced nutrients). I actually moved the light up really high in the tent, reason for this is I’m kinda wanting this plant to stretch out more than normal, it’s just a tactic for this solo cup grow who knows if it will help. Ummmm temps and humidity are super stable, I am watering to runoff once a day now and I feel like later in this grow it’s going to be at least twice a day. I’ll post pics as the week progresses.
Third week and all is well, I’m wondering how big this will actually get in a solo cup. Watering everyday, one day just water and next day water with nutrients. Temps and humidity remain constant.
I defoliated all fan leaves yesterday and she has recovered very well, not flowering yet but will be very soon so starting bloom nutes this week. I like the stretch that is starting with this strain it’s easy to get light to all the bud sites. Temps and humidity remain constant and still watering once a day to run off.
Day 29, she started flowering early into the last week. I do like the thin leaves this strain produces, no problem with getting light to budsites. Watering daily to run off, one day nutes the other day just water. Humidity and temps remain the same.
Starting to smell now. This plant looks pretty typical for a small northern lights. I did some more defoliation just to get rid of old fan leaves and create a little more airflow. She’s drinking twice a day now in the morning and at night. Temps and humidity remain the same.
Really smells good, drinking a ton twice a day, I totally stopped nutes for the rest of the grow to really flush her out before harvest. I’m guessing 2 to 3 weeks but we will see. Temps and humidity remain the same.
I’m proud of this little lady, such a strong growing plant. She has the smell of a skunk and stretched really nicely so all buds are basking in the light at all times. I’m thinking maybe 2 weeks longer and she will be ready. The buds continue to bulk up. Temps and humidity remain the same and she is on pure water twice a day.
You can tell she is finishing up but still has a bit to go, No amber trichomes yet just some milky ones. Temps and humidity remain the same and still watering twice a day to run off.
First off I want to thank @growdiaries for running such a fun contest. Got less than an ounce but to me that wasn’t the point. It’s nice to try some new experiments and lets others get a new perspective when they are starting their own grows. Love the @growdiaries community so many good people and helpful hints/tactics. Been here for a while and I’ll be here for a long time coming. Thanks for viewing everyone!
