Hi all! I’m back for the solo cup challenge! So I germinate my seeds in paper towel soaked in water between two plates, I put it on top of my cable box because it’s just perfectly warm. 24 hrs later the seed has popped open and is ready for planting. The solo cup has been watered 24 hrs ago to get the soilless mix ready. I just make a hole with a pen and then drop the popped seed in. I cover the seed with some soil and then water it a bit more. I’ll update with more pics throughout the week.
Going well, typical one week of growth I can’t see the solo cup causing any problems for a while. Started nutrients, my favourite (advanced nutrients). I actually moved the light up really high in the tent, reason for this is I’m kinda wanting this plant to stretch out more than normal, it’s just a tactic for this solo cup grow who knows if it will help. Ummmm temps and humidity are super stable, I am watering to runoff once a day now and I feel like later in this grow it’s going to be at least twice a day. I’ll post pics as the week progresses.
Third week and all is well, I’m wondering how big this will actually get in a solo cup. Watering everyday, one day just water and next day water with nutrients. Temps and humidity remain constant.
Defoliated all fan leaves yesterday and she has recovered very well. This plant short and stout, without lst it’s a little hard to get light to all the bud sites. You can see signs of flowering already so she is starting her bloom nutes this week. Temps and humidity remain constant. Watering her once a day to run off.
Week 5 has started and this is a pretty hearty little plant, with another 4 to five weeks of growing I think this little girl is going to have some chunky buds on her! I’ve been alternating one day water one day nutes and still watering to runoff everyday because they get dry very fast. I might start watering twice a day soon if she needs it. Humidity and temps have remained the same. All in all she’s healthy but in a tiny cup haha.
Starting to smell a little now, I’m actually surprised how chunky this little plant is getting in such a small pot. I did some more defoliation just to get rid of old fan leaves and create a little more airflow. She’s drinking twice a day now in the morning and at night. Temps and humidity remain the same.
Chunky buds already, probably still 2 weeks left to harvest. Stopped nutes, feeding pure water twice a day to runoff. Temps and humidity remain the same.
This might be the last week for this little lady, she’s really smelly now. Trichomes are still clear so we will see how fast she finishes up. Been on pure water for over a week now, buds are still bulking up so I may run her for as long as possible. Temps and humidity remain the same.
She’s almost done, not a lot of amber trichomes but they are turning quickly. Temps and humidity remain the same still watering twice a day. I will update through the entire harvest and drying process with wet and dry weights as soon as she is done.
First off I want to thank @growdiaries for running such a fun contest. Got less than an ounce but to me that wasn’t the point. It’s nice to try some new experiments and lets others get a new perspective when they are starting their own grows. Love the @growdiaries community so many good people and helpful hints/tactics. Been here for a while and I’ll be here for a long time coming. Thanks for viewing everyone!
