First grow attempt plants are currently in small peat pots that they germinated in and they have been inserted into 1 gallon pots. Currently 11 days from breaking soil Can confirm Earwigs are evil woke up one morning to a chunk of seedling leaf gone and no visible culprit. I checked during lights out the next night and nothing but the night after I again peeked in and caught a fat earwig chillen on top of the same damaged seedling. I managed to exterminate it before any significant damage was done. Will attempt to post better pictures eventually. working on obtaining a decent camera. 07/23/2020 - Gave the girls their first real watering today. Added Molasses and Trace Nutes at 6.54 - Better Pics 07/26/2020 - Watered approx 500 ml between 4 plants at 6.47 ph, Looking great! 14 days from sprouting =)

Starting Week 2 strong! - Good growth for all four plants tight node spacing and extremely healthy looking. Seeing some slight differences in phenotypes so it will be exciting to monitor. It may be worth nothing that the plant the earwig chose already has a noticeable odor on inspection and the leaves are slightly more sativa ish than the others. Perhaps the bug knew what it was after lol I apparently have potentially ruined my carbon filter running the high humid air through it. Apparently I was supposed to wait for flowering to attach it to avoid such issues. As of now it has almost zero airflow capability. Live and learn I guess lol I Lowered the light to 25" and decided to run full spectrum with both switches on. The Mars ll 1200 is alot of heat for a 3x3 space but the larger fan is handling temps ok A/C assisted and the plants are loving it. 07/30/2020 - Transplanted the smallest plant into a slightly bigger pot. Testing how hot the happy frog soil I amended a month ago with chicken manure worm castings and bat guano currently is. I hopefully did not overdo it... 07/30/2020 - Watered the Four primary plants with 6.42 ph plain water around the perimeter of the pots as the cores in the peat moss were still damp. Next watering mid-late week sometime shall be a larger nutrient dose. 07/30/2020 - First round of topping, Went for an early one just above the fourth node. Planning on Scrog setup. 08/01/2020 - Watered 2L between 4 plants with ph 6.58 with added nutrients and molasses, The smallest plant seems to be loving the new soil. 08/02/2020 - Added new pics 3 days after topping. 08/05/2020 - Watered 2L Plain water at 6.31, Fed all runnoff to the smallest.

Starting week 3 with a plain watering at 6.31. All plants recovered well from topping and are starting to grow much faster. Looking healthy and strong! Planning on some light lower defoliation early this week to get the bottom leaves off the soil. Still very short and bushy. 08/05/2020 - Watered at 6.31 all conditions remaining stable. (Pics) 08/06/2020 - Defoliated the bottom 3 sets of fan leaves. 08/06/2020 - Used green twist ties to begin LST the main branches (Pics) 08/06/2020 - Watered at 6.51 with added nutrients 7 ml between 2L. 08/08/2020 - Took a few more leaves from 3 of the 4 and adjusted tie downs, left 1 alone as she seemed unimpressed with the first defoliation. 08/10/2020 - Watered at 6.49 with added nutrients. 5 ml per 2L. 08/11/2020 - Final transplant into 7 gallon pots, All 4 had solid root growth and were starting to be root bound. I'm glad I did not wait any longer. 08/11/2020 - Watered post transplant with Plain water at 6.43 Used 4L between 4 plants.

Hi all! First time grower here, I was wondering what's the farthest I can push my plants in their current 1 gallon containers. I am finishing in 7 gallon pots and flowering at week 7 (8 max) I want to avoid being overly rootbound in their final pots.

the more room for the roots the better your harvest will be. in one gallon you could go about 6 weeks in veg with comfort, 7 weeks roots are getting bigger and taking up more room, you are at 3 going on 4, i would transplant in to the 7 gallons at about 5-6 and you will have room in the 7 gal for longer veg if you wanted to go 8 plus weeks. once you go in to flower in the 7 gals you should get a great harvest but that all depends on how long you veg and how big you want her

Transplanted on August 11 into final pots (7 Gal) - Note for next run, I need to have a middle pot to transplant into one week sooner as roots were looking more tight than i would have liked to see and with at least 4 full weeks of veg left their final pots are now going to be tight as well. Plants now have access to some natural fertilizers that i amended their final soil with 2 months ago, will monitor closely for nutrient burn but expect them to really enjoy it! I feel as though rookie impatience has struck me and I feel I was too quick to implement my topping and lst however the biggest lesson I learned was not to defoliate so young period. I witnessed overall an extreme reduction in growth rate and while I am developing a nice number of bud sites and growth is starting to pick back up I really feel like I slowed down the plants growth a lot and they would be much better off had I let them be awhile. The goal for the next 2 weeks is minimal interaction and upwards growth! I'm setting my scrog at 12 inches above pot rim or about 14 inches from soil so they have a long way to go! 08/13/2020 - Start of week pics, Plants are 31 days from Sprouting! 08/15/2020 - Noticing some very slight leaf lightening and nutrient imbalances. Did a small soil sample runoff test. ran water through at 7.03 came out at 5.55... The Fossilized bat Guano I used is extremely acidic and has lowered my soil ph drastically. Looking up solutions. 08/16/2020 - Followed the advice of Pmal027 and watered each plant with 2.7L of PH 7.5 water. hoping to counteract some soil acidity. 08/16/2020 - Was unaware that Fox Farm Happy Frog soil contained nutrients. for 4+ weeks I added a decent amount of Bat Guano and Chicken Manure to beef it up which has resulted in soil that is quite acidic and also overloaded with Nitrogen and Phosphorus. will do another runoff test in a few days to see if the higher ph water has any affect. Monitoring plants closely. 08/17/2020 - Girls look fantastic this morning! Visible growth overnight and leaves perking back up. 08/18/2020 - #3 which is the most distinct pheno is showing early nutrient burn on a few leaves. Nothing severe will continue to watch her.

Did a runoff test on a soil sample and the water went from 7.03 to 5.55. The Guano I used was highly acidic. Do I flush and resume my fertilizer schedule or do I ride it out and see if the plants can use it up? Minor stresses showing but its only been 3 days in the soil. WTD?

Your doing really well there fine. When you LST like you have then your looking to get the tops nice even and vertical before you flip to 12/12. I have noticed when i have my plant heavily LST'd the vertical growth can slow down but its never a concern. Just keep doing as you are becuase its exactly what your looking for.

So 1 of my plants is having a hard time in my low PH Soil I'm seeing the start of brown tips on newer leaf growth. I was wondering if I should water frequently and keep the soil more wet with higher PH water or let it dry out and slow the nute uptake? and risk high PH at roots?

Best bet is just to flush it with 7.0 water until your runoff hits around 6.3. The pH increasing is usually a sign of feeding too heavy.

Greetings everyone, I hope everyone is doing well on this wonderful Wednesday! Ran into issues this week, discovered I added extra nutrients to my soil that I didn't need (N,P) and dropped the ph of the soil to below 5.5. I had seen minor deficiencies showing from nutrient lockout perhaps due to low ph so I watered with a good amount of plain de-chlorinated tap water at 7.5 to offset the low ph. It helped a lot! the plats perked back up and were looking much better and grew a bunch at week 4 start but now in the last few days 1 of the 5 is showing the start of some serious stress. Many of her tops have burn't leaf tips which looks very much like nutrient burn. likely excess Phosphorus. This week still working on upwards growth feeding at a higher ph probably 7.0 next watering and hoping for improvement. If not I will have to flush the one plant at least. I hope everyone has a great week! Any comments or feedback is always appreciated =D 08/19/2020 - Start of week, Journal edit + pics 08/20/2020 - Awoke to visible progression of burnt tips so regretfully flushed the one plant with 7.0 ph water until the water ran clear approx 10 gallons for 6 gallons of soil in 7 gallon bucket. She looks burnt and waterlogged but i think she will recover. 08/21/2020 - Flushed the other 3 plants as well All show signs of damage. =( 08/22/2020 - Plant health continues to deteriorate although new growth looks like it may be healthier. Time will tell... 08/24/2020 - Damage finally stopped progressing. New leaf growth is healthy, Cut off dead material growth stalled a bit but they look like they will be fine. 08/24/2020 - Put pheno #5 out on the balcony to flower might be too late to finish. It is an experiment. She looks beautiful. 08/24/2020 - Installed the SCROG net into the tent. tallest plant is 2" away from the screen.

Week 5 was a fairly extreme week for the ladies. I transplanted them into their final pots but too much amended nutrients in the soil plus an extremely low ph forced me to flush the medium. My response to the problem was slow and because of that they all sustained some damage, one more so than others. After the flush they began to recover and have resumed healthy vigorous growth! I have installed my scrog net and have began to train the plants to fill it up. 08/27/2020 - Start of week journal edit + pics 08/29/2020 - First watering since the flush (really wanted the soil to dry out first) Added 15 ml of Grow nutrients to 5 gallons of water and split it between the 4 plants. Also added 1 tablespoon of molasses to the bucket. PH'd at 6.68 09/01/2020 - Went into the tent to discover the initial plant that was really struggling again in a state of damage as well as one other that had previously been one of the healthiest. The soil was starting to get dry so I am guessing that without the water present the ph again drops to unsurvivable levels. Apparently my flush was not effective. I'm not sure what to do probably water more than I should just to keep the ph somewhat stable. Feeling rather defeated =( I wanted to start flowering on Thursday but now they are not healthy enough to flip. watered 4L each plant ant 6.6 with 5 teaspoons of Epsom salts between them. Only one plant had runoff and it had dropped to 5.2 09/02/2020 - Took a clone from each of the 4 plants placed in rooting powder and straight into soil. 09/02/2020 - Fully saturated the soil at 8.3 no Ph down added. Going to make sure the soil is always damp with higher ph water from here on in.

Hi everyone! I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on veg time under a SCROG in 39"x39" tent? Screen is set 8 inches from pot rim and the plants are 10 inches tall. Just started week 6 veg. Looking to max out the grow space but don't want them to get too big. (Indica dom)

Expect it to at least double its height, once you set it to flower, and you'll get a good estimate of when you should start flowering. Tho some plants might get taller than that.

My plants are suffering a Phosphorus deficiancy due to lockout due to low ph of soil. My first flush only helped for a while. As soon as the medium gets too dry damage resumes. what should I do? I went to check on them today and the amount of damage they took in 24 hours was bad.

Hi there! I can't see any P def symptoms from those pics but you still have acidic soil so I say keep on flushing with pH balanced water (sometimes even 3 times the size of the pot is needed) or add some flush solution if you have (Humic acid, florakleen etc.) 'cos I feel like you might have something build up there that makes it too acidic or maybe you just have very acidic soil and you need to add something like dolomite lime in there to make it more alkaline

Hey Mate, Just want to add, may you wanna have a look at this: https://www.agrobest.com.au/news/How-Soil-pH-affects-availability-of-plant-nutrients-7.htm Helped a lot. You know that your soil can easily puffer the pH of 5.2 for a short periid of time. I would adjust water pH through the whole flower on 6, and I would stop checking your run off when growing on soil. I think would just consternate. Good luck and happy trails for the rest of the way 🤞 Servus✌️ OimRausch

Plants are somewhat recovering, hoping the ph of the soil is stabilizing. #5 on the balcony is showing the start of buds very early stages, the weather is getting colder and we have not had much sun lately. 09/10/2020 - Start of week + pics 09/10/2020 - Took off a decent amount of dead leaves anything that looked like it was hindering the plant.
