I liked this strain so much, i wanted another round, so here it is,
I purchased the seed from the Hague Seed center (real seedshop, with several breeders and ofcourse his own brand seeds), i popped it into a small tube along with some mineral water from bottle and kept it in my pants for a couple of hours to keep it at warm temperature, after some hours i tapped the bottle, and the seed fell to the bottom of the tube, some hours later i could see some white of the cracked seed, so i popped the seed into the soil.... so now some waiting...
This time i didn't take an autoflower, i took the normal feminised version.
I want to see what difference it makes to grow the normal version versus my previous autoflower.
The feminised version takes about 9 weeks bloom
It's known to me for being a very easy feeder,
can't wait to see her head popping out of the soil.
-update day 3: Welcome to the world dear baby girl, first sight of her
Cheers
Evertything is ok with baby sugar kush
I see the starting development of the first set of real leaves
ec is unmeasured the first week,
i did add 1ml of terra to the watering and some lemon juice to adjust ph level
Hi welcome to my grow of the regular version of the sugar kush strain
this is a very tasy strain with a healthy thc level
it's rated 20%, but even the autoflower feels like it has a higher percentage
besides the taste this is one of many reasons to grow this one
growth looks just normal so far
I have started with a little bit LST to compensate the growth in height (to keep it lower)
I released the LST to let the sidebranches get some growth
From today i think i will put it on 12/12, if sidebranches don't develop well i will switch back (as long as it's possible).
growth is a little slow, i want a little bit spiral shape on the bottom to keep it a couple of inches lower
i'm feeding at ec of 1 now
she's doing far better now
perhaps i'll flip the schedule to 12/12 next week
-last day of this week for this girl, i realised that last 2 weeks i made the pictures one day too late, so the diary went out of balance a bit, correcting this week.
Week 5 of vegetation, 6th week since arrival of seed
Everything is fine
She looks healthy and is stretching out slowly
up till now i don't see major difference in comparisation to the growth of the autoflower version, ofcourse the autoflower version is a lost faster, i would be 4-5 weeks away from harvest, but very curious about the development of the "normal female" version.
I was planning to flip the schedule but now i think i'll let her grow for 4-5 days in 18 hour schedule and put her in the dark for one or two days to put her into flowering mode.
If she doesn't develop as wished i will wait longer.
--UPDATE day 4 week 6
she is in the dark since yesterday, tomorrow i will put her in the light again, i hope flowering signs will come soon..
Last week i put her in the dark for 2 days to induce flowering
I think i saw the first preflowering last night, today tried to make picture of it, but on the picture it shows green, in real i see 1 preflowering hair in the main bud.
plant looks nice, as more flowering signs will come i will upload more pictures, that's where the fun starts
Flowering period has started
very very happy with the result of the LST too
the LST didn't cause any stress
size of plant is good
ec is at 1.35, i started adding molasses for the friendly bacteria
I added some pictures of the cat for the Artsy stoners competition featuring my B-class Toyger (designercat).
nothing much happened
i left the ec at same level since the leaves are still a bit dark
the small buds have started to develop
i like the sight of those small buds
This looks ugly, i know
i sprayed the plants with a chinese solution against mites, it's supposed to be very low toxic and i covered the tiny buds before spraying. This should prevent the bastards from spreading.
I think i got lucky, the mite away spray is cleaning out good
this week i will spray another time with kalium salt (recommended by a friend)
the kalium salt can be used almost till the end of flowering
most of it contains of kalium nutrient
Nice buds everywhere, they're already looking dense
let's see what will happen coming week
I'm happy, she's developing nicely
buds are kind of dense already
smell is very weak and non weed like, only a bit kushy here and there
i left nutrients at same level
really hope that buds fatten a bit more
after putting her outdoor a couple of days when it was very sunny, she looks like finishing, i don't know the reason, but it looks nice
when the weather gets very good i put her outside sometimes
grow progression is good
bud is fattening up a bit
looking better day by day
i raised the ec a tiny bit, plant is looking happy
development of the buds is good
i went out of weed so i tooke a branch down
will do another this week
taste is good, but it needs to grow more trichomes
Bud is fattening up
Densing up too
finishing early, seen some milky trichomes already
nut too sure about stopping with nutrients
still busy with thinking about that.
spder mites were returning (i have many different flowers in the house), so i gave some garlic extract in the watering last week, just trying to keep 'at low level. Can't do much, when i get rid of 'm they will return anyway (i have small outdoor organic garden with flowers and some greens)
ripening of the last pieces
smell is nice and non weed-like
only watering, no nutrients
i smoked a couple of pieces, taste is more intense than the autoflower and totally different
some bad luck, some bad decisions, anyway, the outcome is good... BUT i highly recommend the Autoflower version, it's far better, and taste is completely different than normal version.
4 years later i found a piece of this Harvest, still looks and tastes great.
@victor_lion, a bit late with the update, but i updated today.
the first sign of preflowering is showing now, calyxes start to emerge from the stem and the first preflowering hair was visible since last night.
I’m following! I’m curious about the strain because I use marijuana for pain, but also I am very curious about the auto vs photoperiod experience. Good luck with your grow!
@ShaggyGrower,i tried it in the past with clones, vegging with more light, there wasn't a big difference in growth (height). It could be that seedlings behave different, thats the main reason for vegging with low wattage light, starting from seed is a bit new to me though, it could be different with plants grown from seed.
@bobo420, yes, it looks like i'm going to get lucky with this one, she already survived a spider mite attack
There is a smell, but it's totally different than normal weed, not skunky at all.
People will think it's some sort of strange fruit.. lol
@bobo420,
Thanks, I've started with LSTíng her, that will slow the development down a very little bit. I'll upload some pictures of the LST in progress one of these days
Hey wats up bud , thanks for popping by your plants are awesome really im dumbstruck . . I love dwc its the only way i can grow weed tried soil kept dying on me so ja DWC YEAH !! Lol , oh and HST ill post pics of my plants how their stems have split in the middle slowed for maybe a day or 3 my bad but they are still going strong i do plaster them with aluminum tape
@Smokwiri, fair enough -- i would be too paranoid for this, I have bronchitis real bad, and I just wouldn't trust it myself.
hopefully everything goes well =)
@Jaindoh, it's supposed to be a lot less toxic than products like the in europe famous brand "vertimec", i covered the tiny buds'while i was spraying and we're very early in flowering.
Within 15-20 days all will be out of the plants system.
If i would leave it this way, the mites would have eaten the whole plant within 1 or 2 weeks.

I think it might be a bit early to let her go into flower, if your lamp is 50cm from the plant you have plenty of space to let her get a bit stronger, she seems a bit fragile at the moment
