Greetings Growmie’s!
I’m starting this diary 9 weeks in because the last few months have been a bit crazy. If you would like to see these girls in there earlier stages of life, checkout my indoor Godfather OG dairy
Anywho...
All girls were transplanted into there final locations June 1st ((next year I'll wait 'til the end of June cuz these girls got huge) 😂😌🙌
Trainwreck #1 & #2 were grown from seed and started indoors for 5 weeks before being transplanted outside
Big difference between the two pheno’s.
#1 began flowering soon after transplant and has 10 big beautiful colas. She’s in a 7 gallon stone pot, has a very lovely structure and stands approximately 4 feet tall.
#2 is way more sativa dominant with thin wispy branches and a huge fat trunk. She’s in a 20 gallon fabric pot and is close to 8 feet tall & 6 feet wide.
Super Skunk Auto #1 & #2 grown from seed but also very different in appearance.
#1 planted straight into the ground is about 3 feet tall and looks like she’ll be ready to harvest in a couple of weeks. Started her flush this week.
#2 in a 10 gallon fabric pot is small & fat standing less than 2 feet and kind of an odd looking girl. The white hairs are fat and stubby. I've never seen anything like it. Curious to see how she turns out.
Strawberry Banana #1 started from seed then planted straight into the ground is over 7 feet tall and has started pre-flowering.
Strawberry Banana #2 also started from seed then planted in a 30 gallon plastic nursery pot also just started to pre-flower.
Blue Fire #1 started as a clone then transplanted into a 20 gallon fabric pot. She was getting so tall that I had to tie her back and super crop her as well..
Blue Fire #2 also started as a clone (same mother as #1) was then transplanted into a 10 gallon fabric pot. Big-time drinkers these blue fire girls. They’ve required water every day for the last couple of weeks. It’s been a very hot season. We are nearing the end of July and we’ve already had 25 days of temps over 30°C. This strain has been known to herm easily so I best keep a close eye on them.
Godfather OG #1 started from seed then transplanted straight into the ground is over 7 feet tall and still growing.
Godfather OG #2 also started from seed then transplanted into a 20 gallon fabric pot.
Godfather OG has been rated one of the strongest strains around and Strawberry Banana one of the tastiest.😜 Can't wait
Hope you enjoy the garden
Please come back for updates.
Cheers & Happy Growing!
See ya soooooon
Hello Growmie’s and welcome back to my diary
Trainwreck #1 has started to show some signs of what appears to be a calcium deficiency. I will recalibrate my pH pen and add a little bit more Calnesium next run.
Trainwreck #2 suffered a split trunk from a torrential downpour and strong winds on Sunday, August 2. Repaired trunk with a zip tie and wire. Should make a full recovery.
Super Skunk auto #1 looks and smells divine. According to breeder, she should’ve been done last week but trichomes are half clear and half milky so I’m going to wait a little longer.
Super Skunk #2 is a little ugly duckling but I’m going to be patient with her and hopefully be rewarded.
Blue Fire #1 & 2 are big drinkers & heavy feeders. One of the photos shows a large fan leaf stripped of her nutrients. Maybe a little boost of nitrogen might not be a bad thing 😋
The rest of the girls in my backyard garden look happy and healthy. Preflowering has begun and exciting times are just around the corner. 🙌
Comments or advice always welcome
Stay safe and happy growing
See you soon
If it starts from the bottom up it’s a calcium deficiency, if it starts from the top she needs more water! ( from my experience of course) hope this helps friend & happy growing!✌️🏼🌱
Aug.5, Super Skunk auto #1 has been pulled out of the ground and is hanging in my drying room. Yahoo.
Germination date: May 18/20 - Harvest date: August 5, 2020 for a total of 80 days from start to finish.
Can’t wait to give her a sample.
Will report back on smoke and taste after she dries for approx. 7 - 10 days
Aug.14, dry, trimmed & jarred.
Total Weight was 29 g of smokable bud.
Very small yield. Bud structure was very odd looking, almost resembling a male plant full of seeds however I only got 2 seeds out of the whole plant which is still 2 seeds too many many but I’m not gonna complain.
It definitely smokes better than it looks with a strong taste of sweet earthy pine.
Aug.30th Super Skunk auto #2 got chopped today after noticing a teeny area of bud rot. 🤔 Main cola is as thick as my fist and weighs just over a pound. 🤘😝🤘
Sept.3 was checking up on Super Skunk and unfortunately bud rot has taking over most of her so the entire plant has been trashed. 💩😭😭
Super disappointed 😠
Week 2 of flowering and the girls are happy and growing like crazy..🙌
Trainwreck #1 was showing signs of what appeared to be a calcium deficiency. Started the week with a flush and then the next feeding I gave her some extra Cal-Mag.
Trainwreck #2 with the split trunk seems to have recovered and has little buds forming.👏
Super Skunk auto #2 is stacking big time and starting to stink but in a good way.
Blue Fire #1 & 2 have a little bit of leaf tip burn probably from over feeding. Will give them a good flush next time and continue to keep an eye on them.
Strawberry Banana #1 is over 8 1/2 ft tall and #2 is the healthiest looking girl in my entire garden. 💪
Godfather OG #1 & 2 are beautiful looking girls with great structure and have the strongest smell of all the girls in my garden. Definitely recommend this strain for both indoor and outdoor grows. They’re Beauts! 😜
Super-cropped the top of my wall girls Aug. 10th simply because they were getting way too tall. The cropped branches look pretty gnarly but these plants are super resilient and besides those breaks are going to turn into super strong knuckles that’ll help reinforce and strengthen those branches so they have an easier time holding up the big buds to come.
The first time I saw someone super-cropping my jaw dropped and heart sank and I thought "there is no fucking way she’s going to recover from that type of hard stress". 😲💀
For any of you that have never seen it or are not familiar with Super-cropping, I’m sure you’re thinking the same thing.
You'll just have to stay tuned to see how they turn out 😎
Aug.14 did a major last pruning and defoliation. I hope I didn’t go overboard. Only time will tell.🙏
Thanks for stopping by 👊🏻😷
Cheers and happy growing!
August 17 and 18 we had thunderstorms passing through with torrential downpour‘s and strong winds.😲
Blue Fire #1 and #2 took some damage. 4 lower branches couldn’t be saved and had to be removed.😠
Trainwreck #1 & Super Skunk #2 were brought into the garage and out of the rain. Gotta keep those flowers as dry as possible 👌
All other girls made it thru the storms and are happy, vigourously growing and stretching. The super-cropped plants are recovering 👏 and starting to stretch towards the sky.
So much for controlling their height. These girls just keep on growing. Still amazes me how big cannabis plants can get in just a few months of growing. Even in Canada Eh😜
From here on in there will be no more heavy stress training for the outside garden other than pulling the odd leaves here and there to allow for better air penetration through the canopy.👈
Thanks to all who comment, give advise or just drop by for a peek.
Great community 😷👊
Cheers and happy growing ✊
Aug.24 and another round of thunderstorms overnight produced more rain and heavy winds but luckily no damage this time around. 👍
Most girls have past the pre-flowering stage and are showing little buds coming in. Still stretching and growing like crazy tho. Gonna have some big momma's to deal with. 😲😥
Last week plants were given a good flush with r/o water @ 6.3 pH to get them ready for the flowering stage.👌
This week started Bloom nutrients by Future Harvest cycle/schedule week #1
August 27 wind storm came through snapping another lower branch from Blue Fire #1. 😢 I hope the stress doesn’t cause her to herm.
Aug.29 winds are supposed to reach over 60 km/h today and into Sunday. Let’s hope mother nature isn’t too pissed off 💨
Trainwreck #1 with her 10 big colas👆 are getting very heavy and smells of sweet citrus and pine oh ya💪
Trainwreck #2 is a sativa dominant girl that looks nothing like her sister #1 even tho they came in a 5 pack from Canuk Seeds. Gotta love variety 😋
Aug.30th Super Skunk auto #2 got chopped today after noticing a teeny area of bud rot. 🤔 Main cola is as thick as my fist and weighs just over a pound. 🤘😝🤘
Wow last day of August, summer is flying by
All the girls have finally stepped into high gear and are flourishing although in years past at this time of season my girls have always been further along. I guess this means a later harvest this year? Wondering if other growers are experiencing the same pattern.
Sept.1 and average temps have started to drop during the day and the morning dew has reared its ugly head once again. This will probably be the case from here on in. Going to try my best to keep the girls from staying wet throughout the day.
Sept.3 noticed some powdery mildew on my Godfather OG #1 in front of the wall. Made up a concoction of 1 litre of milk to 3 litres of water and gave her a good spray after the sun went down.
Also sprayed the rest of my girls as a preventative. Hopefully this will help manage the problem.
Sept. 6 this week has been quite windy most days and my Godfather OG blew over landing on top of Trainwreck #1 and breaking 2 lower colas OUCH! 👺 My fault for having Godfather to close Trainwreck
I’m watering the 7 girls (minus Trainwreck 1) every other day with 15+ gallons of R/O water & week 4 bloom nutes between 6.2-6.5 PH and 1100-1500 ppm. Every third feeding is just water with molasses
Sept.. 7 the day started with 15+ millimeters of rain and wind gusts over 50 km/h. A couple of girls got blown over but luckily no broken branches. Time to start tying down these pots geez.
I was checking up on Super Skunk auto #2 while she’s been drying and unfortunately bud rot has taking over most of her so the entire plant has been trashed. FAK!😢😢😢😢😢
Sept. 8 it's been overcast and humid all day and noticed some more powdery mildew on some of the girls. 😩 Unfortunately temps overnight have been in the mid to low teens celsius which is not helping
Sept.9 mixed a new concoction of 3 teaspoons baking soda & 1 teaspoon vegetable oil to 500 ml of water and carefully sprayed fan and sugar leaves trying best to avoid bud sites.
Sept.10 powdery mildew seems to be under control although the baking soda concoction burned some of the white hairs on a few buds.
Trainwreck 1 is on her final week of nutrients followed by a long flush.
Sept.12 the last couple of days have been cooler than average and somewhat breezy. The girls are looking healthy and the colas are starting to put on some serious weight so I added a few more bamboo stakes and a bunch of ties for more support. 👌😁👍
Sept.13 started the day with almost 15 mils of rain (that's about 1 inch for you non-metric peeps)😄 Colas are getting way heavy😲 A couple more branches snapped on Blue Fire 2. Man I can't catch a break. I hope it doesn't stress her out too much. 🙏
Thanks for stopping by, hope to see ya next week👉
Cheers and happy growing👍
Welcome back✊
Outdoor season is finally showing the labours of love with buds a plenty.
Can you feel the excitement? 🙌
Big time aromas in the garden this week are really quite something.👌 Everything from bananas and grapes to sweet & sour citrus and even dirty diaper. What?
Yup that's right...My Blue Fire's smell like 💩 just like the clone mother and she's pure FIRE!!! I've grown this strain indoors but this is my first time growing it outside so I'm really looking forward to the outcome. 👍
Sept.14 the girls are putting on some serious weight. Colas are fattening up nicely but with that extra weight I’ve had to add more support and netting. 💪
Sept.15 last night temps got down to 8 celsius (46F) and today's high was 20 (68F). It's supposed to get even colder by the weekend followed by more average temps next week. Please God No Frost.🙏
Sept.16 Warmest day of the week at 25 celsius although very hazy probably due to the wildfires out west. Prayers for y'all out there. 🙏
The garden is looking amazing today with buds fattening up everywhere. Strawberry Banana #1 in front of the wall is furthest behind as far as bud development but is the tallest of the bunch at over 10 feet.👆 Bless that momma👏
Sept. 17 and just my luck Trainwreck #1 has a bit of bud rot on the 2 big main colas.😠 Damn I babied that girl and kept her dry her entire life. WTF
Sucks having to harvest her early but shit happens so the 2 colas got chopped this morning and are hanging to dry. On the bright side, one of the colas wet weight was almost 11 ounces.
Sept. 18 & 19 overnight temps got down to 4°C luckily no frost.
Sept. 20 and most of the potted girls fan leaves are starting to yellow. Good sign that they are using up their last bit of nutrients from the leaves themselves. I’m guessing 1 or 2 more weeks and my first round of girls will be getting no more nutrients and starting their final flush. Trainwreck and Blue Fire are the furthest along while the wall girls are a couple weeks behind especially Strawberry Banana.
That’s it for now
Til next time...
Be well and see ya soon
Sept. 21 day 52 watered the girls with 15 gallons of R/O water plus week 6 bloom nutrients at 6.5 pH and 1200 ppm. Blue Fire #2 runoff was 6.3 pH and 1250 ppm.
Trainwreck #1 got flushed with 2 gallons of rain water at 6.4 pH. Runoff was 450 ppm 👌
Sept. 22 day 53 and all the potted girls are putting on some serious weight. Buds are getting very fat and heavy which has required even more support.💪
Sept. 23 day 54 Trainwreck #1 got chopped today. Trichomes were mostly clear & milky however I would have normally waited a little longer to harvest but noticed a teeny bit of bud rot near the stems of a couple of colas so I had to bite the bullet.
Sept. 26 day 57 started my first flush (only the 5 potted girls) with flawless finish by advanced nutrients. 15 gal of R/O water @ 8ml/Gal. The 2 wall girls got 5 gal of R/O water with week 7 bloom nutes
About 2 weeks away from harvesting the 5 potted girls and at least a few more weeks before the 2 wall girls so I am praying for decent weather ‘till mid October 🙏🏻
till next time...
Stay safe and see ya soon 👋
Sept. 28 day 59 and the girls received their last watering with Flawless Finish. Straight water only from here on in. Trichomes are half clear and half milky white and the buds are getting harder and heavier each day and now are leanIng big-time. Let’s hope these buds will hang in there for at least one more week.
Sept. 29 day 60 we got 10 mm of rain overnight. They weren’t calling for that much rain so I didn’t cover my plants however it did fill my rain barrels, that’s the good news. Bad news was when I got out there this morning, of course all the girls were super wet and sadly bowing to their leader.
Thought to myself “aaaahhhh!!! I’m not worthy” and then quickly began the not so fun task of shaking the water off each cola hoping the girls will dry out throughout the day. 🤞
Sept.30 day 61 flushed the outside girls with 25 gallons of R/O water at 6.7 pH.
Thunderstorms also came through in the afternoon dropping another 7 mm of rain
Oct.1 day 62 and more early evening rain and temps have dropped significantly. Not helping to combat the powdery mildew. The buds are also wet and very heavy but so far no bud rot🤞 On the bright side, there was a beautiful harvest moon overnight even though we are still a little ways away from harvest. The 4 pot girls have been moved into the garage during the evenings due to temperature and morning dew. The other three girls are going to have to brave it out and stay strong 💪🏼 🤞
Oct.2 day 63 morning temperature was 6°C or 43°F burrrrrrr. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get down to 3°C or 38°F Damn frigid.
To my surprise the trichomes on Godfather OG #1 have all turned milky white with the odd amber head here and there. That was a quick change over from half clear and milky only few days ago. Happy to announce that at 8 AM godfather OG was chopped. Yahoo!!! She gave me over 40 big fat Kolas of smokable flower and approx. 2 lbs of fresh frozen that will be processed into water hash and finally heat pressed to make live Rosin. The tastiest shit ever! BTW it’s been raining all fucking day.
Oct.3 day 64 watered all potted girls with 3 gallons of rainwater each at 6.5 pH. Started to rain again early evening so the girls were brought back into the garage.
Oct.4 day 65 more damn rain! All day in fact. Can’t seem to catch a break. I guess girls will have to remain in the garage until tomorrow.
Oh well...till next time
Thanks for stopping bye
See ya and stay safe
Oct.7 day 68 buds are still stacking and getting harder every day & trichomes on all plants are now milky except for Trainwreck #2 which has turned into a long flowering sativa. Powdery mildew has gotten a little out of control on most of the potted girls so I started the long & tedious task of harvesting 1 plant per day starting with Blue Fire #1. Being a one-man operation I’m not looking forward to all the work that lies ahead however judging by the look and smell of these babies, should be well worth it in the end.
Oct.8 day 69 cut down all the main colas on Blue Fire #2 & Strawberry Banana #2. Giving the lower branches a few more days to finish then chop chop and into the freezer. 😜😁👌
Oct.10 day 71 cut down all the main colas on Godfather OG #2 and keeping the rest for fresh frozen water hash. Also started trimming Godfather OG #1 eight days after she was harvested. First time drying in the garage which is detached from the house and is not insulated. Average temps in there this week were low 50's-60's F and 55-70% humidity. My concern was temps being too low and the fluctuating humidity. So far after eight days of hang drying in the garage with 2 small fans lighty blowing directly on the colas, God father OG #1 was dry and ready for final trim. That worked out better than I hoped. 🙌
Oct.11 day 72 Trainwreck #2 got chopped whole and is hanging. I would normally trim it up quite a bit before hang drying but I need a break today.
Oct.12 day 73 Strawberry Banana #1 finally got chopped today. I shot a video of it in time lapse which compresses my five hour chop time to about one minute.
That concludes the harvest of all my outdoor girls this season. Stay tuned for more photos, final weights and reviews.
...till next time
Thanks for stopping by
See ya and stay safe
Oct. 15 In total Godfather OG #1 gave me 7 lbs of fresh frozen, 21 ounces of dry flowers and 10 ounces of small buds/trim. Collected some kief after a few hours of trimming and it was absolute fire. Nice and smooth with a fresh pine exhale. 15 minutes later I was couched. A fantastic nighttime strain. Very popular with all my stoner friends
Oct. 18 Blue Fire #1 has been trimmed and in jars. Final weight was 12 1/2 ounces of bud, 4 1/2 ounces of trim and 1 pound of fresh frozen.
Oct. 20 Blue Fire #2 has been trimmed and in jars. Final weight was 11 ounces of bud and 6 ounces of trim
Oct. 19 Strawberry Banana #2 has been trimmed and in jars. Final weight was 12 1/2 ounces of bud and 8 1/2 ounces of trim with another 2lbs of fresh frozen
Oct. 21 Strawberry banana #1 has been trimmed and in jars. Final weight was 26 ounces of bud and 21 ounces of trim.
Trainwreck #1 suffered from bud rot and had to be thrown out. That was unfortunate considering the original bud structure was spectacular.
Oct. 24 Trainwreck #2 was trimmed & jarred. Final weight was 4 ounces of smokable bud and 10 ounces for Ice water hash.
Thanks for stopping by
See ya next season
Stay safe
