after moving my plants under a closer light, and adding soil, they have started thriving again.

well it took some time, and I had to run a new circuit out to the shed, but my grow tent is operational. The northern lights has really picked up, I'm sure the HID will only improve things. UPDATE: I have transplanted them into their new 5 gallon homes to finish up their grow.

They are all bouncing back from the transplant nicely. Much faster growth today than I have been seeing in the past. A lot of yellow on the bottom leaves, I drilled holes in the bottom of my buckets, (Should have done that in the first place) and watered my plants until 10-30% run off. 24L of water later they are much happier.

Grow Questions

I attempted topping on both my Northern Lights, and My Girl Scout Cookies. The Northern Lights went just fine, but when topping the GSC I nicked one of the Lateral Branches. What should I do to fix it?

I’m notsure you’d be able to get anything on there it’s a pretty small plant. But if you ever break a larger branch tape works well.

I broke my phone and couldn't update for a while. my NL and Cookies are doing great, Blueberry is another story. I was having issues that I thought were caused by nutrient deficiency. I fed it and the next morning it had gotten worse. fearing over feeding I flushed it, but didn't think to add diluted nutrients back into my soilless media (rookie mistake). the next morning was...devastating to say the least. I have got nutrients in the media now and new growth is slow but green. I planted 2 more just in case but I'm gonna try to bring it back.

@RedEyedRenegade, Light Closest~ Sunlight Furthest 150W 8" (20cm) 10" (25cm) 12" (30cm) 250W 10" (25cm) 12" (30cm) 14" (35cm) 400W 12" (30cm) 14" (35cm) 19" (48cm) 600W 14" (35cm) 16" (41cm) 25" (64cm) 1000W 16" (41cm) 22" (55cm) 31" (79cm) But keep it 50cm away from the plants till 2 or 3 sets of leaves are there to take all that light in! Regardless of heat, lightburn is always an issue with HID.Not on here yet but been using 600w MH/HPS setup 2 years now and learned that the hard way early on.. You can always bury a bit from the stem when you transplant, given that it is hard enough,it will just grow roots when covered and lightly watered around it.

@bobo420, I'm hoping to have everything setup in my shed this weekend, then I will do the move to the 1000W when I transplant.

@RedEyedRenegade, when are you going to move them to that 1000w?
RedEyedRenegade
RedEyedRenegadecommentedweek 27 years ago
right now I have boxed myself into a corner, a heavy snowfall mrevented me from getting my (heated) shed setup with my grow tent. so I was forced to ad-hock a small LED in a closet. Today I am setting up an empty closet with a proper 600W MH HID suspended from the roof, to get the light closer, I will also have a 6" fan hooked up to the hood. That being said, how far away would you recommend I hang the light from my plants? - Update: I started setting that up and realized how ridiculously oversized it was, I'm building a small propogation setup using 3 75W plant lights.

That 1000w is going to make a considerable change, she's had a rough couple of weeks
RedEyedRenegade
RedEyedRenegadecommented7 years ago
@bobo420, Yes they have. Hopefully once they get over the shock of the transplant all three will start to flourish.

I’d put some blue painters tape around the nicked branch. You should be able to take the tape off in about a week.

@AbroCadabro, Yeah, I started the 3 cinderella 99's last weekend, they just sporouted.

Those are extremely stretched, you need to get the light closer.
RedEyedRenegade
RedEyedRenegadecommented7 years ago
@KushKing, Thanks man, I'll get that moved around right away.
bobo420
bobo420commentedweek 57 years ago
They look better but for week 5 they should be couple of times bigger. You need to increase your temp, 21 is a bit low
bobo420
bobo420commentedweek 27 years ago
For HPS 10W~1cm should be a safe distance, but it's always best to measure and check that your canopy isn't getting worm

There's quite a bit you need, if you are willing to put a couple hundred dollars in to this we could really help you turn this around... I'm willing to help you if you are interested, as that's how I learned how to grow. :)
