I decided to take down 1 of the Jack's. (Punchy) was 34" tall & tbh, had fair amount of LARF. I looked at the trichomes & I do think this could have gone another week.
The advantage of growing multiple plants of the same strain, is take noobs like myself, can experiment & learn. I will let the other Jack (Bob) - 28" go for another week, as it had similar looking trichomes. I sacrificed a bud & cracked it open to look under the scope. Cloudy for sure, but the amber was a bit thin. Back in she goes & I will take a look in a couple of days.
I have to admit I felt a bit guilty or bad as I cut down Punchy. Ha, f that! I 'm gonna smoke IT & I will love it!
I just want to do the plant right as I had put a lot of time in the grow. Once cured, I will sample it to a plant that went a week longer.
I started with DWC, but had to scrub that project because I could not control the water temps consistently. Soil was for sure easier. After listening to some podcasts & talking with friends, I think my next run(s) will be in coco.
Now that my setup is pretty much complete, I anticipate the next runs to get easier in regards to technique & having worked out all the technical specifics. The nutrients, different strains, grow mediums will always keep my interest.
I learned so much on the 1st run - so many videos so many articles - I have to say - you just have to go for it & not stress about it throughout. It's important to take the time to learn how to control your environment if your indoors. I went from a 3 x 3 tent at the start, then switched to a 4 x 4 tent after flower. It changed the whole dynamics of my gear & it took time to adjust it, especially since I travel often. In the end I am happy as a 1st run - I don't expect a high yield from Punchy but with all I learned - not bad for a 1st run. Comments welcomed.
@Qaggy, I appreciate the reply. I has been a good run & I certainly don't want to blow it at the end. I will keep a scope on them and watch the bulk. It should start this week, then assess the flush timing. Cheers , Stay Safe & Stay Tuned
