This is my absolute favorite kush strain and I cant wait to see if I get a good keeper pheno
Seed put into rooting cube: 7/30/2020
Sprouted above ground: 8/1/2020
Medium:
Promix HP amended with Mykos, and Roots Organic Elemental (calmag)
Before planting into the 5 gallon pot the soil(less) was given a good 1 gallon water/food drench with the nutrients mentioned above. I find this helps start the plants off in the inert promix with the right amount of food. I continue this feed until there is 2 nodes (what I consider true vegetative state). It usually only takes a week maybe 10 days above ground and the pot usually only dries out 1x in that period of time so I only have to water one more time before they get real feed.
I only use Mammoth P and Roots Excelurator 1x a week after the initial drench, and I add them on different days of the week from each other.
She has definitely taken home in her final container and enjoyed a feeding a couple of days ago. She was nice and dry, so I'm sure her roots (with the Mykos helping) I foliar spray with 10ml/g Emerald Goddess a few times a day starting about now. There is a Hurricane fan circulating air in the closet I veg in. If I foliar, the plants are dry within 10-15 minutes maximum so I've never had any issues with mold or anything. I also dont spray after 6pm (they go to bed at 1030pm). Once this and my Ghost Train Haze start showing some differences I'll be able to give better weekly notes other than just copy+paste between the two. Right now they look exactly the same and are growing at the same rate.
Topped at the 3rd node of true vegetative growth. I'll top again after 2-3 nodes of growth which will give me the chandelier of tops I aim for. She is loving her veg feeding and has been growing noticeably every day.
Topped the CK again today, focusing on the outer branches instead of the middle ones. This will allow them all to grow that chandelier of flower I like at the end of flower.
While not as bushy as the Ghost Train Haze plant, this Cataract Kush is definitely showing some great structure. I see some big ol' spear colas in my future.
9/7 is day 1 of 12/12. We are now officially off to the races! She didnt get as much lateral branching as hoped for, but her vigor and strength should still yield some gorgeous flowers
She's done stretching and is right where I like em, roughly 30 in from the top of the soil. She's got some gorgeous huge bud sits and will get a day 21 defoliation at the end of the week, right no schedule.
Ok. I said she was done with stretch a little earlier than was true. She is finally done getting taller and starting to pack on some serious flower sites.
Update 9/29: she got her defol today and just like the GTH, this is a stinky beast but of another nature. Black pepper, dirt, and pungentness.
This is another plant that has just absolutely blown me away. Strong black pepper terps with some earthyness. She loved her defoliation and her sites are starting to swell as planned.
This girl is now just as stanky as the OGTH. If you've ever smelled LA Confidential or Cataract Kush she is 100% on spot. This is the plant I was hoping for :)
The size of the colas on this plant is unbelievable. 8 to 10 inches long and as big around as a soda can. 20-30 days left and this dank beast is gonna be heavy!
She was defoliated on 10/21 and is going super hard into the stacking phase. The smell is of straight up chemicals and black pepper. Those giant colas are as big around as a soda can and rock hard. I will definitely have to take them apart to dry them without risking mold.
She has entered her "flush" stage of low dose nutrients (as suggested by emerald harvest) and should wrap up in the next week to 10 days. Her smell is intoxicating and she is EXTREMELY sticky to the touch
This monster is starting to stink louder than the ghost train haze and is literally oozing with resin. If you touch her, you stick to her and your skin stays sticky.
Easy to grow, massive yielding, and insanely terpy. This sticky strain is my all time favorite kush and ill be keeping it in rotation permanently in my personal/headstash grow. I cant believe how gorgeous she turned out, with literally no maintenance required other than feeding and de-leafing. The flavor is very "kush" with tons of that musky/spicy/pungent with a little citrus on the exhale.
What can I say that the journal doesn't already. A massive yield for a 1ftx1ft area in my 4x4 tent. Tons of frost. Sticky as possibly can be (my scissors hate me, but love acetone today)
