This is my first Grow and I'm doing it on a bit of a shoe string budget. I'm using an old wardrobe to grow in. Using a couple of computer fans to draw air in. I brought a second hand 400w hps light which weighed a ton! Which I then modified to be able to run either hps or cfl bulbs. And to cut down on the weight I removed the light housing and wired the ballast outside of the wardrobe.
I germinated the seed using moist paper towel and 2 plates, and the tape root appeared in 24h.
The seed has been planted in a peat pot which I cut slots down the side, hopfuly to be able to see when the roots start to show. I give it 1 good watering to soak the soil then I've been waiting a couple of days until watering again. It's also under a propergator to help with conditions.
I've now re potted plant in a 15lt pot, this might be a bit too soon, but as its going in the new pot already in its peat pot, im hoping it'll be ok. Ive swapped my light over to a 400w hps bulb and switched to a 24h light cycle.
I've also used a small amount of nutrients this week, half the recommended dose once every other few waters.
I've noticed the first set of leaves going yellowish, but from what I've read this is normal and not due to excessive nutrients.
Last week after re potting I thought I'd swap to the hps bulb and 24h light cycle. However, after the first day I decided to change back to the cfl light and stick with the 18h light cycle.
I'm now also feeding with formulex once a week, and that seems to have really helped with the growth.
So my plan is to stick with the cfl bulb throughout the veg stage, and switch when I put it in to flowering.
I've had some great advice from my local hydroponics shop, so hopefully I will keep seeing good progress.
Nothing new to report really, everything has stayed the same as far as light, heat and watering.
I'm still using the formulex once a week and I guess that's what has caused the increase in growth, it's really exciting to see her coming on now.
The only thing I have been wondering is, when's best to start pruning and maybe loose a few of the lower leaves? Im guessing the leaves with only 3 fingers aren't needed? Think I'll wait to get some advice before I start hacking anything away from her. Lol.
Had a busy week looking after her this time. I topped her mid way though last week. It felt so wrong taking a pair if scissors to her after trying to take good care of her. Lol. It definitely slowed her growth down for a good few days after.
Then at the weekend I re potted her in a larger pot. I think it's 20lt but not 100% sure. She went a little bit limp after re potting, but only for a day or so, and seems to have recovered nicely now.
I'm still on an 18/6 light cycle and using formulex once a week. Though I intend to switch to using Ionic soil grow from tomorrow, so hoping to see the veg stage really come on this week.
I added a video clip this week too. Showing off my top of the range cupboard. 😂😂.
As always, any advice or criticism welcome. Thanks, and happy growing.
So this week I've switched to a 12 hour light cycle, and started using soil bloom nutrients. I'm only using half strength to start with and using every other feed.
I can see what I think is a bit of nutrient burn on a couple of leaves some I'm glad I went easy with it.
Having looked at other people's diaries to see how they progress, i dont expect to see much change over the next week or 2. Other than she might stretch a bit. I'll have to wait and see.
Happy growing people.
She's doing great now I've got the grow tent. I'm able to control the temps much better. I'm now also adding pk boost and hesi boost, to help produce bigger buds.......i hope. Happy growing people.
No real change to what I'm doing at the moment. Just patiently waiting. I'm really enjoying the smell every time I open the grow tent now. Also from what I read about this strain, I'm hoping to see the most growth in the last 2 weeks of flowering. Happy growing people.
Still just patently waiting now. As this is my first grow I dont really know what I should be expecting at this stage as I dont have anything to really compare it to. If nothing else, im glad there's going to be something to smoke at the end of it. Lol. Happy growing people.
Everything seems to be going ok still. A few of the larger leaves have been turning yellow but im guessing this is normal as the plant puts it's energy into making sure the flowers grow. It's only ever one or two leaves every now and then.
Everything seems to be going ok still. There are still some leaves that are turning yellow but it doesn't seem to be causing a problem. Happy growing people.
