Having just started a Sweet seeds + speed Auto, Red poison auto from sweet seeds was next on my list to be grown with Jack 47 in my arsenal after that.
I'm already growing some sensible seeds strains so I didn't want to dip into them.
I considered buying a seed for the 'one girl one cup challenge' aka Solo cup competition but knew I'd send myself crazy deciding which I should use.
I had half decided I wanted to go Indica dominant as an entry for their shorter size anyway so...... after looking at images online of the Red Poison, I thought it would actually be a good choice.
"....So a 16oz cup is a what now?"
pint - no
litre- no
half pint - no
500ml - nope
473ml - yes, ah ha!
473ml = Nothing, the size doesn't exist in the UK.
online I can get 10 delivers fow a few quid. I'm not paying that, I'll find something.....
Closest ( It's near perfect to be honest) I found was an, ahem... recent... 30 and fab cup. I've videoed it's contents as proof
I'm thinking as Indica she's gonna drink a lot (compared to sativas in my opinion) but I also have no drainage.
Even though I think she may be a big drinker, I'm not worried about her drying out so much, she'll quickly bounce back from a drying out with a drink. I'm more worried of Over watering
I still need to (at time of writing this) actually make a homemade tent first, buy some (probably 2) cheap bulb fixtures, I've still got some foil blanket left from other tents I've made and I've got some spare house hold LEDs I'll bang something together......
Not much to report this week, I've decided that the new grow tent I will make, will need to be for the wedding cake auto I am growing as she is getting too big for the nursery tent aka converted shoe cupboard.
She's only been on water so far
I've finally given this girl Red Poison auto, some space to grow.
she's now in the nursery aka converted shoe cupboard alongside her wedding cake cousin.
some small amount of homemade nuits and tap water only.
I'm hoping she does something soon and starts to stretch a little but I'm enjoying the learning curve regardless.
Red poison from Sweet seeds is growing well but I worry I may be a bit late for the one girl one cup challange.
This girl has had no issues so far and seems to have solid genetics.
not much else to report which is pretty boring for the diary but great from a growing sense.
The Red poison auto from Sweet seeds has started to flower.
I'm still undecided on whether I should top her off or or leave her natural?
She has been fed some homemade nutrients ince this week only.
I'm certainly looking forward to the coming weeks and hopefully this girl turning beautiful red
This girl is in sweet little bud mode.
I hope she doesn't have too much of a stretch, as she's getting close to the LEDs but i have a little space to adjust if necessary.
I'm hoping she'll fatten up rather than grow upwards.
homemade nuits only this week and a top up of just tap water.
This girl is going to get in the benefit of going into the big grow room now along side + speed auto and Jack 47 auto.
I'm rearranging homemade tents. so, while I have the smaller plants, I can put them all in the same tent aka converted wardrobe. I can get rid of the shoe Cupboard and replace with another mailbag tent.
not much else to report.
just a steady little grow.
This is what under watering looks like. FFS!
Been a really busy week and things have been overlooked.
You can under water and revive but it's hard to over water and dry out for root oxygen intake.
This girl is perky once again
It was a photo from a previous cup challenge that brought me to grow diaries.
Seeing a plant in what I call the 'bikini shot' which is a plant trimmed to her Buds only. But not too far trimmed for drying and curing. Just stripped to her beautiful kola body whilst still in her pot.
I do photos like this for every plant.
I see it as a finishing touch to a grow and a moment to reflect and enjoy the effort of both grower and plant.
I often leave a girl like this a few hours while doing other things life throws our way, sneaking a look at her in her glory now and again. 😉🤪
I was in this comp the second I saw it.
Red Poison auto wasn't my first choice but was next in my personal schedule so. I jumped in.
She's scary 'Top heavy' and wobbles like spinning plates on a stick but fuck she's beautiful!
A forgetful underwatering moment saw some minor damage but a quick drink plus shes so late in the cycle that it hasn't been an issue except for visually.
She could easily be harvested now but I'll take the risk for a little more fattening of the bud.
👍✌️
I have had to add some scaffolding support to this top heavy beautiful girl.
Leaves may have some discolouring but I think that just adds to the beauty of her.
A couple of weeks left in the competition I want to keep this girl budding away because she is getting so fat.
I may trim off her beautiful discoloured leaves so she can focus more energy on her bud but I do like how they look even if it is wrong
A beautiful grow. I wanted colour in a bud and I got it. She shrugged off a lack of watering on my part like it was nothing. With smooth almost plastic unreal looking leaves, this girl is gorgeous.
The time has come to pass for this super cool Red poison auto from Sweet seeds.
The one bud beauty has been fun from the start.
It took as much time trying to figure out what 16oz was in English and then actually find a 473ml cup, as it took this girl to germinate.
I've mentioned before it was a picture entry from this this comp previous that drew me to grow diaries in the first place. (Yes I'm a bud slut, don't judge)
Back to miss Red P, she has taken the usual beating of me forgetting to water and feed a few days, a neglect that all my plants enjoy at some stage of their lives.
She started life in a converted shoe cupboard grow thing and ended her weeks in the main converted wardrobe where alongside the usual cheap LEDs she has had a few doses of the old UVB 10 reptile light. *Giving her a fantastic sugar looking crystal coating. My opinion through some research and personal experimentition*
Although nuits problems showed in her leaves in the second half of her growing life and some forgeful watering, they produced some stunning, ever changing colours, which were ironically a nice change to see from the regular grows of green and would probably have been more concerned if it was happening to one of the other girls.
The Purple to Red coloured main bud is bigger than the cup itself and weighs a ton. I had to put support in last week to hold her upright.
Her leaves look fake and plastic as my wife commented, true too which makes for a nice look I've never seen before.
perfect timing on the grow time although I could have harvested earlier to be fair but the bud just kept getting bigger and well, you know. ..
As of writing I've not posted the root pics but will soon.. . Honest... I just like looking at her for now.. . Every now and then a quick admiring close up look at them buds.....
I just don't want to part with her yet ok. give me time!
I'd say natural because of her already being in a small container and an auto. I would think it would stunt her a bit. Just my opinion though and I'm no expert by any definition of the word haha. She looks good though.
You've got a good strong start. I noticed that week 2 mine started showing calcium and magnesium deficiencies already because of the small amount of soil. So I'm trying to dabble slightly with the most miniscule amount of nutes to keep her going but not burning.
@GrowGirl419, thanks. The soil I'm using is cheap multi purpose compost 3 for £10 I bought about 6 years ago, aimed at "growing your own veg"
I've never checked properly but it seems to be pretty good on its own (for now) the nuit side of things but time will tell.
Good luck
I went through the same thing recently. I got off schedule with being down physically again. She bounces back quite nicely. Doing well my friend. I think we're going to enjoy the dickens out of these beauties!
This has given me a a little inspiration in my small tent. So much so I’ve just chucked 2 x Sour Diesel Autos in paper towel for 2 small pot plants. I will start a new diary :) I have some bio biz nuits and some soil :) thanks mate, I really find your diaries interesting.
@SneakyDog, Thanks, if I've inspired you then, good stuff! I'm humbled.
Truth is I'm just skint. Life is teaching me there's always a cheaper way, although not always the easiest.
Had a grow in a shoe cupboard about 12 months ago.
My first grow & 'tent' was made with a few poles from a canvas set of bedroom draws and a bed sheet pegged around.
Good luck with your grows. 👍
