First of all thanks for stopping by and checking out my grow. Secondly, Well shit, here I am again, trying to cook some tasty ass plants and conquer/iron out many of the huge demands growing marijuana in the high desert places on the grower. On deck for this grow i got 6x of MSNL's Stardawg. I would have bought seeds direct from Top Dawg by JJ, but with the seeds not being feminized i didnt want to run the risk of popping males.
I ordered these MSNL seeds direct from their website and i have to say, compared to the skunk #1s on my last run these popped 100% and rooted quicker than i could double take. so good on MSNL for not selling old/low qual seeds (not to say these Skunk#1s were not the DANK, some of them just didn't make it out of the cradle, and took forever to germ).
Now on to the particular challenges in this grow environment.
Even with a 10k BTU portable AC in the tent the grow area is cooking - 81-85 degrees. if the AC goes out i'm pretty screwed because the temp outside the tent is 93 degrees. the res, situated outside the tent has a water temp of a sweltering 91.0 degrees f which is definitely not conducive to a healthy root zone. Fortunately i have a chiller on order and set to arrive in 4 days. eventually im going to try and rig the AC to a Dryer hose and move it out of the grow room, as it takes up far too much space and also pulls the sides of the tent in pretty drastically.
With all this power drain comes some "trip ups"... ive popped my breaker and one time i didnt catch it until it was almost too late - my girls were this close to throwing themselves into flower.
Now With all these crazy demands and outrageous challenges with the heat, i gotta say, these plants are tough, and they are thriving. cant wait to see how much of this room i can fill with tantalizing gassy bud.
Well holy shit, welcome to this weeks episode of girls gone wild and with me today I got 6 lovely ladies doin their best to please you.
So I went and topped plants 4, 5, 6, as a result they exploded into disgustingly massive shrubs, requiring extensive defoliation near daily. MNSL’s stardawg, outside of plant 1, shoots foliage like it’s life depends on it, while maintaining a very stout short structure. It’s nothing short of amazing to absolutely mangle the plant at night, only to come back at 11 and see the thing turn back into a thick lush canopy.
Took me some practice, but I got the hang of figuring out how to properly LST the branches into an even Star shape, plant 4 is the best example. Next on deck to get lst training this week is plant 3, who has been a bit of a slow grower as well as plant 2, who seems to be very healthy, just in need of some love. Plant one is a little sloppy, her stems are weak and her leaf structure is a little more airy, but she looks great, and I have no doubt she’s gonna kill it in flower.
Pretty proud of the way I readjusted the room, removing the ac and taking it outside while wrapping its output in a garbage back taped to a duct hose, which pushes air in. Found it to be much, much more effective at keeping the 95-100 degree days out in the desert at bay.
I’m gonna long-haul these ladies, veg them out as long as I can. they just keep crushing it, September looks to be the month that I’m considering flopping, but it’s all contingent on temps, I can always bonsai/train growth.
Well it’s looking like it’s time to flip these girls are Losing their shit on this run. Huge props to MSNL so far, I mean, we’re talking 8/8 seeds popped, fast healthy growth like nothing I’ve had(and I put these girls through some shit-stripped them down to nothing almost weekly and they just bounce back.
Seriously, if this run continues to go anything like the veg then I’m 100% a believer in MSNL’s quality. They’re hardy, put up with some crazy shit that happened with circuit breakers cutting the lights off early on, a lot of supercropping, defoliation and lollipopping... And you don’t even need to rub the stems for scent... I just walk into the room and it’s like a sweet peppery gas smell. Straight fire.
Catch you guys next week, can’t wait to see some pistils!
Unfortunately, I had to ultimately end this grow due to security concerns. I had a breach, and it wasn’t safe to continue. When the time comes that I can grow through legal avenues, I shall jump back into it. For now, as heartbreaking as it is, I am currently on standby making sure my grow equipment, and accessories are in a safe place whilst deep sixxing the unnecessary components.
I shall return however. This hobby is too great to give up.
