I had a few seeds kicking around and decided I needed a project. Bored at home and sick of pay "high" prices so decided I'd kick it off with some mystery seeds while I was waiting for my seed delivery...which will follow. This will be my first grow and figured I better try something in the new gear while I wait.
The summer heatwave has been extreme...incredibly high humidity and temps, nothing but a struggle to keep the tent levels "normal". Had to leave the tent door open to get below 88 degrees, humidity was around 62% - can notice some minor issues, but the weather is breaking and hoping for some balance.
I also noticed a LOT of lower growth so decided to do the Loss Stress tie-down. They all seemed to handle it well and showing sings of additional growth!
Each plant appears to be a female from what I can tell, confirmed by a friend. Excited and curious to how it will all work out...we shall see!
The heatwave finally broke. I can see that the big pot of three plants seem to be stunted. I know now that I should have never put them into the same pot together (8 gallon). Was going to attempt to split them up into separate pots but thought that may do them in so I left them. Still unsure what strains I'm working with but the one appears to be a bit different then the others...it's tall, the others are bushy. Some purple leaves just started showing up on one of the plants...I believe it is a deficiency - I'll be investigating.
Considering moving the 8 gallon bucket to 3 but the roots were entangled - didn't move them, fingers crossed not too crowded in the pot / for the pot!
I switched the nutrients to something a bit more made for growing. The recommendations I found here and other sites seem to agree that this is effective.
The results after two days were amazing...the green came back and the leaves perked up. I'm liking the grow process and hope that the inexperience and the unknown strains don't bite me, but so far...looking good. The smell has begun! I'm excited !
Watered and fed on a every two day off and on schedule as needed. One plant started to bud and it was a male....had to yank it out of the tent.
Hopefully the others will survive and so far, they look great! Fingers crossed for the new few weeks!
They seem to be coming along - considering the seeds were random, the seem to be growing nicely. The humidity in the area has finally dropped. The "triple" bucket seems to be doing nice, the runt is growing some nice looking buds, plenty of cola's!
Been anxiously awaiting the picking season! Looking a lot more like a big Bud and a bunch of small on the 3 pot and the larger solo plant has really beefed up in size and budding. Can't wait to harvest, maybe another week and it may be ready....let's see! For a first timer and using an unknown strain, I think I am doing pretty well....fingers crossed.
The three plant mystery seeds were clearly too crowded in the small 5 gallon container and had to be harvested. I have another that is doing great and will put some pictures of week eleven. The single plant is growing quite nicely and some serious bud growth is happening. Excited for another for week or two until that is ready!
This mystery seed has grown to almost full potential, keeping a close eye might be another few weeks. I'll post some more shots when I have some spare time. Stayed tuned
Without knowing what the strains were it came out decent. Got about 2 oz and tastes decent with a nice heady feeling. Placed the contents into glass jars and burping daily. First grow complete!
