back at it once again, still not bored.
i decided im going to give shiskaberry another round, since i liked the last batch a lot but i know i can do better.
9 days in
some shitty pictures,at this point im just talking to myself anyways,at least until i get a non blurple light, still havent found one i like.
this run im basically putting the least effort i can into it and seeing how it turns out.
gnna go another week and hope i dont get lockout,(have not changed the water once yet)then change the water and flip to flower.
went a final week of veg and i think tomorrow i will flip to flower cause we are cutting it close with my height restrictions even after a bit of a scrog.
did major defoliation, probably a bit too much but i got carried away.
emptied reservoir and gave them water for a day to sort of flush out b4 the flower.
week 1 of flower is over and it would appear im in trouble lol
they are stretching more than i thought and im not sure im gnna have any lamp to plant distance after the next 2 weeks of stretch.
gnna set up a scrog sometime this week not that it will do any good cause there is no space to weave branches through, but it'll hold up my branches.
probably gnna have to do another defoliation too a lot of moisture on the leaves sitting on top each other
week 2 of flowering complete, moving along nicely.
i somehow managed to create a somewhat even canopy, despite scrogging way late.
i have extremely limited space so i really hope this plant is done stretching, but its probably not for another week,so we might be getting some light burn.
i tried to make feminized pollen from a clone, and sacs formed but no pollen in them, there is the tiniest bit of barely visible dust maybe ill try pollinating a branch.
were coming along nicely, did the last heavy trim to keep that airflow moving
ppm around 750,im gnna wait tell end of this week then do a 2 day flush just to refuckulate the plant, avoid nute lock
and best news- i have ordered a new light with a white spectrum so no more blurple pictures after this week !😲
week 4 and a halfish.
things going alright but buds could be bigger, thankfully my order of the sun has come in.
i tried the new light today and the leaves started lifting up so i think the plants will enjoy it, hopefully not too late to add some bud density.
week 6 went alright, ppms are highish around 1200.
slight bit of nute burn and a bunch of light burn, lights as high as i can put it and i only got 2-3 weeks left so nutrient burn doesnt concern me ill just slow down a bit on the feeding.
smell is getting stronger according to people who come over. buds pretty sticky but i wish they would fatten up
week 7 complete with no major issues.
im going to just add water tot he plant when its thirsty instead of nutrients, that should bring down the ppms to under 400 come harvest in 1.5-2 weeks.
pheno 1 is starting to get nice and purply ,and smells sweet if you touch it.
pheno 2 is smaller and is more orangey, and smells kind of air freshner like.
both seem pretty sticky and i cannot wait tell harvest 😯
week 8 down and i think 1 week left and im chopping at least plant 1, plant 2 maybe a bit more time.
i have flushed for a few days so far cause i wanted to bring out them purple leaves, ppm down to about 400 now.
humidity is rough cause its a pretty packed tent, i have managed to keep it below 50 but a lot of the lower branches you cant see are falling over and i know when buds touch that can be a problem.
the smell is very intense now, smells skunky from far away.
thanks for checking out me buds 😌
final week of flower ,week 9 complete, and today im off to harvest at least the top half.
plant 1 is the clear winner i think, its the purple one and smells like blueberries.
plant 2 is smaller structure, orangy color and smells way skunky.
there is a lot of pictures cause im no photographer and have no idea what looks good so upload em all 😂
chopped er down after 9 weeks, gnna save the harvest category for when they are dry.
plant 1(purple one) smell like blueberries and skunk, plant 2 just smells like skunk.
doing my first dry trim cause i hear that gives more flavor when it dries slower,i hope so ,cause even though i liked my last few grows, they lacked the flavor.
let me know what you think, thanks for checking out my grow.😉
do you guys prefer leaves on bud or off look? i cant decide. excuse dark pictures, havent seen the sun in a month here
first off shiskaberry is very easy to grow, pheno's differ ,but not very much.
the nodes are kind of far spaced compared to other barneys strains i find, but they make up for it with big tight lower nugs.
the feeding seems to be light to medium, does not take much.
they respond very well to topping and lst.
taste= blueberries on inhale, earthy exhale.
smell=super skunky. i break apart one nug and whole house reeks.
high= powerful,musical,relaxing
edible high= paranoid, burning eyes, hearing dogs bark 4 blocks away
buds= very dense, probably 160 of those 208 grams was solid nugs.
yield= high enough . i got 208 grams off 2 plants with only a 200w light,so i consider that a gram/per watt and i am super happy to finally hit it
what i wish i did differently= i dry trimmed this time to get a smoother better taste, but my plant still dried in only 4 days at 55 percent humidity and 20 degrees.
i think its because my dehumidifier was so high last few days of flower and dried out the buds before they ever got hanging.
next time i will turn humidity from 40 to 50-55 last 2 days get some of the moisture back before i harvest.
overall i am very happy though .next grow = cookies kush 😵😜
happy growing
