Hello! Welcome to my grow. Please see my previous grow for some fucked up shit. It was my first attempt at growing and all the plants died. I learned a lot. I cried. I stressed. I lost close to $100 worth of Durban Poison seeds. After many hours of research I've decided to build a DWC system. As of now it has been operational and ready for plants for 12 hours. pH 6.6 / PPM 145 / 50% RH / Water Temp 66f / Ambient Temp 70f. Using Flora trio (Micro, Gro, Bloom). I'm using 15 gallons of water in a 25 gallon container. I've decided on starting with 1/4 strength nutes, which ended up being 9.25ml per bottle. I mixed them in a 1L bottle of water, and in the order according to the directions. I'm using my tap water as my solution. It has a PPM of 14 and pH of just over 7. After loading nutrients my solution's PPM is 145, pH 6.6. Let me know what you think of my numbers =) I'm really looking forward to this with great optimism and anticipation. I feel highly confident in how much I have studied to get this system working and working to serve me comfortably. Stay tuned to see pictures of the clones planted! They are Candy Kush, apparently. -------------------- The guy flaked on me and couldn't pull through. So I went out and got my own seeds again! I've learned about more than just growing during this experience, I'm learning about people, too. I've got a 5 pack of seeds here fresh in the package. To me they look like at least two, maybe three different strains in there, the size and color and markings on them are dramatically different. I digress, whatever I have them now at least. Today I'm going to clean out the grow room, clean out the DWC system and get it ready to run again for the new babies. I've been running the system for the past few days and as practice, I grabbed one of my young blueberry plants that I've been using for experiments. The roots on that plant have grown an inch in 24 hours, pretty amazing. Now I'm even more excited to get my medicine growing. I'm going to germinate one seed at a time this time instead of all 5 at once. This way I will get 5 chances at growing instead of one big one at once. I'm going to germinate in a proper germination chamber from the nursery, and once it's ready it'll go into the hydroton clay balls and away we go.

I would appreciate hearing some input on how to use the GH floratrio series. There is so much conflicting information. I am using 2:1 Bloom:Micro to 1034 ppm, 1.5 ec but that just doesn't sound very nice. I would prefer to be using all three bottles too rather than just the two of them.

I've learned alot in the last week about how to feed them. My next res change I am going to reduce Micro and Grow and increase Bloom. Someone asked me if I could get them 15 clones, I said maybe. And then I started chopping plant #3 because I knew if it died or if I needed to use the entire plant, it wouldn't be that much of a loss considering it was the runt. Well, I got about 10 clones from plant #1 in total and a few off #2. The clones have been cut for nearly 24 hours and are showing absolutely no signs of stress whatsoever.

Should I start trimming the plants? How should I trim them? Where? What should I do with the cut clones? I'll have a lot. what should I do with them to ensure the highest number of awesome nuggs? I started some pruning when they were too young which is why they look a bit wierd

Yes , it’s time for a lil haircut . First you can clean the bottom of the plant, then you can cut every fan leaves who’s blocking the light to others tops. The rule of thumb is to let light penetrate the inside of the plants.

Roots are looking pretty brown and gunky but not horrible. I'm only adding the poolshock solution during res change, should I add it more frequently? this week i'm going to add it halfway through the week and see if that helps. I'm also unsure if I'm dosing my nutrients right. I'm using an NPK ratio of 1-2-3.

Which NPK ratios have you tried, and which ones work the best for different stages? I' on day 1 of week 2 of flower and have just done a res change with an NPK of 1-2-3 in 10gal of water: Micro-25ml, Grow-75ml, Bloom-50ml. Do you agree with this, why or why not?

Don't overthink , use basic nutrients and add some cal mag , less is better than too much in DWC you can easily use 1/2 manufacturers recommended amounts , plants need water , oxyegen and light , the last one bring the most important .👍

Hi, I'm agreeing with green on this, more difficult without the pictures for sure.. to know and see where you're at. VEGETATIVE GROWTH Nutrient requirements are minimal. Less is most definitely more. Most growers favour a high N feed. An NPK ratio of 3:1:1 during the growth phase. Of course, some strains will respond better with some slight tweaking. It’s not all about nitrogen, but N levels should always be higher than phosphorus and potassium until bloom. Nitrogen-rich feeds are not required for soil growers as most high-quality cannabis soils contain enough fertiliser for the first 3-4 weeks. Just add water and keep an eye out for nutrient lockouts. Alternatively, Vertafort grow tablets can slow release nutes during vegetative growth. (Which I have, and they work quiet well). FlOWERING- Plants transition into flower, nutrient requirements swing in the opposite direction. That means switching to bloom base nutrients and adjusting the NPK ratio. A effective NPK formula is 1-3-2 for early to mid-bloom, followed by 0-3-3 for late bloom. Add a final flush of pure water and/or light flushing solution during the final week for flavour. Then, it’s time to harvest. P & K dictate the quantity and size of bud, respectively. Tapering off N levels while simultaneously increasing P & K is the primary grower objective. Too much nitrogen late in bloom spoils the sinsemilla. Buds will taste harsh and just won’t smoke as smoothly as a thoroughly-flushed crop. Leave out the N altogether for the final 20-30 days. Every cannabis strain has its own nuances. This is true when it comes to nutrients and feeding too. Regardless of whether you intend to use organic or chemical fertilisers, you must incrementally increase doses. You simply cannot launch right into full-strength feeds from the get go. Again, Vertafort slow release organic bloom tablets are a viable alternative as they time-release nutes throughout flowering. This is just advice and you're free to do as you wish, but in MY opinion this is what generally works. Good luck

as you can see, I have learned what to do in order to grow roots like this. you can tell, because as you can see, I've grown roots like this.
