The baby bubba's germinated on Thurs. This is my first serious attempt at growing indoors. I'm on a budget though and don't have a lot of fancy equipment. I think I have all the basics. Day 5 and all looks good so far. I'm not to sure about the PH. The digital tester I bought says it's in the mid to high 7's. I know that's wrong because the paper test strips that came with the DWC kit say somewhere around 6.0. And if the PH was as high as the digital tester says, I think the seedlings would show some negative signs. Using well water btw.
My power strip is inside the tent. It has four constant power sockets and four time programable sockets. My question is, should I be worried about the light coming from the orange lit up power switch and LED screen during the flowering stage?
When in doubt, cover it with electrical or duct tape.
FYI, outdoor grows have to deal with moonlight, starlight and man made light, and they get good bud development.
I changed the nutrient solution for the first time today. I'm very lucky to have well water with almost a perfect PH level. I tried real hard to get the temperature of the new solution as close as possible to the old solution. Kind of hard to do by feel, huh? I guess I need to get a thermometer for the solution. I upped the nutrients in the solution. They'll stay at this new mix for the next 2 or 3 weeks.
It's Day 12 since they sprouted and the change in nutrients seems to agree with the Bubba's. The growth has been great and horizontal for the most part.
I had to move the plants farther apart, they were starting to over lap. One of the plants is showing some signs of stress and I'm not sure why. The humidity got a little high but I fixed that as soon as I noticed. I'm going to get a better air stone and see if that helps.
I started out with two plants, well, I still have two plants but I dropped one when I was changing the nutrient solution. It isn't dead, but it hasn't grown any either since I changed to 12/12 light a week ago. Trashed the stunted one. The remaining one looks like it needed the room anyway.
I'm having a very hard time getting the humidity down. I know about bud rot, mold, mildew. My question is, if a plant feels threatened, will it make it finish early? You know, will it make reach end game sooner than it should, or I want it to. Thanks!

No, high humidity will not lead the plant into an early harvest.
70% is high, put as much fan as you can to dry the air and limit the risks.

Does anyone have experience with the VIPARSPECTRA Pro Series 600W LED? I keep it , on average, 14" above the flowering tops. Can I move it a little closer with out burning them? Heat is not a problem, very cool running light.
Sorry I've been slack with the updates. Bubba is coming along nicely. Running into a little root problem but this late in the game I don't think it matters too much. Big xtra sticky nugs, y'all!
This was my first grow and a learning experience for me. If you're new to growing, I would highly recommend this strain. In the hands of an experienced grower, I can't imagine what the yields would be!
I can't praise the VIPARSPECTRA Pro Series 600W LED enough. The light penetration from this thing is amazing. I thought I was going to have to "undercut" the plant and just have the main top canopy. Not so! I'm getting really good size buds a lot deeper under the plant than I thought possible. For a 2ftx2ft area, this light is perfect for my needs. Got to say something about the Bubba. Very strong healthy strain. The genetics in this baby are top notch. Weedseedsexpress you've done an awesome job with your Bubba Kush. I've done things to this plant that would make most growers cringe and Bubba has took it like a champ and come out smelling like a rose! Well....not a rose, but you know what I mean. :)
The switch to 12/12 and the new light has really kicked the bushy bubba into overdrive. Hope it doesn't out grow my tent! I've kept it short by cropping the ( insert expletive here ) out of it. I have a plan "B" in place, just in case. ;)
The root problem I mentioned did end up causing a mess. I had to harvest about 2 weeks sooner than I would have liked but, oh well. The clones are more than going to make up for it! Pictures of the harvest coming soon. Nugs are dried and curing now.
I'm being slack about updating my diary, sorry about that. Bubba is doing well and will be ready for harvest in a few weeks from the looks of things. Judging from a little sneak preview, Bubba is going to be very potent. Hurry up and come out of the closet, Bubba! Just kidding, some thing's are worth the wait.
