As a first time grower in South Africa, starting a cannabis grow indoors seemed daunting and challenging however I was up for the challenge. After weeks of painstaking research I decided to start purchasing all the equipment needed to start my first cannabis grow. Finding and purchasing all the equipment was a challenge, but I eventually got everything I needed to start. Germination did not go as smoothly as I expected as it turned out the taproot started to grow out the jiffy. After I released what had happened I carefully replanted it the correct way and hoped for the best. I also carefully removed the seed shell to give it an extra boost under some light as it was stuck due to not growing out the soil correctly. Few hours later and both seemed to bounce back barely. I would have avoided this situation had I planted the seed taproot down however a study I found its best taproot up - LESSON LEARNED Day 0 _ Germinated in jiffy pellet with plane tap water Day 6 - Replanted in soil with seedling emerged from soil (leaves closed) Day 7 - 1st true leaves revealed

Seedling seems to have recovered despite the rough germination process. Seems like seedlings have stretched or I did not plant them deep enough although I will fix this in the next transplant

At the end of week 3 seedling is looking much healthier. Start of week 3 - Starting to develop 1st fan leaves (3 finger). Mid week 3 - 3 finger leaf complete, starts to develop 5 finger fan leave. End week 3 - 5 finger fan leaf complete Note : When I mean complete, I mean all the fingers can be seen on each leaf. The fan leaves get larger each day after having developed all its parts.

@kevinC I'm a noob, but something I've done that I've noticed you also did was plant a bit lower than the edge of the container. Next time, I'm not going to this that. The 3-4inch gap above the soil line, to the edge of the pot I believe holds moisture, and creates a humidity pocket and that's what I've been wanting to blame some of my mold issues on, idk if that's the case, but its something I don't plan on doing again. Don't know if its a problem, or what your reasoning was I did it because i didn't want soil blowing around the tent from the fans, but I want my soil to have air flow and able to dry out asap. Also I've heard of aerating your soil after feeding with something like a chopstick going forward I'm going to be doing that. Gl to me a noob your plants look good :D gl

When should I start my 1st topping? I have 2 plants both have 5 nodes with the next set of leaves growing. I was thinking of waiting until the stem grows to about 1cm and then cut 0.5cm above the 5th node. This is my 1st time growing please help.

I go by nodes and height.. I usually top between 4th and 6th node, depending on height. - Mostly cuz I got a tiny tent, and I generally prefer bushes over trees. Be careful when you do it tho. Watch some videos of other people doing it beforehand, to get a feel for it, since a bad topping can set the plant back quite significantly.

Topped after the 5th node. - day 35 from seed - day 26 from the first true serrated leaves (1 blade) Did 2nd feeding with nutrients at 75% strength, seems to be responding well. Planning to start LST on the 2 new main colas and 2 main secondary colas as soon as I'm able to

How much should I water? I last watered plant 24hrs ago with 300ml of 6.2 ph tap water at lights on. She is now 14cm in height in a 20l fabric pot starting 2nd week of veg (I counted veg when she started developing the 2nd set of 7 fingered serrated leaves ending seedling stage

Hi :) I usually just look at the soil: if the top 5 cm of soil are dry, then I water. I also find it useful to "weight" the pot with your hands. Pick it up right after watering and then every time you check on the plant pick it up again. You'll soon learn how much your pot weights when the soil is dry and ready to water. Anyway, I grow outdoor and I water about every other day while flowering and once every 2-3 days during veg. It really depends on the weather for me

Overall the plant looks healthy although the growth seems slow and not where I though it would be. Day 47 from seed Start of week 4 veg (Counted from 1st set of 7 blade leaf) Last Watering 1 litre 6.2 ph water with ghe micro, gro bloom at 50% strength. Removed the bottom leaves as they where touching the wet soil. LST on the 4 tops Any advice and feedback is appreciated. Always willing to learn

Looking healthy, noticed some nutrient deficiency so adjusted the PH and upped the nutrients to 75% strength. Few days later decided to test the run off and it showed around 8 although I need to retest this as I did not do the test correctly with enough of runoff. Will have to flush if the ph is high. Thoughts?

Do I need CalMag for growing with CocoCoir? I want to use: Cococoir with perlite - 70/30 ratio GHE Flora Trio (From previous grow) GHE don't recommend to use CalMag what do you guys think? https://www.eurohydro.com/calcium-magnesium-supplement

Follow the instructions on the bottle! Cal/mag is really only needed in extra amounts during flowering. Obviously GHE have formulated their "grow" fertilizer with adequate cal/mag, hence why they say not to add any extra. Too much calcium can make your ph really fluctuate. Hope this helps.... At some point you will need to add a little, but go easy when you do. 100 to 150 ppm 0.2 to 0.3 ec and only add when you see them starting to need a little. The ppm of cal/mg you add gets taken away from your other nutes so it keeps your ec feed level the same. Cheers

This strain is incredibly resilient and grew healthy throughout the grow and produced decent yield and quality considering the equipment used and 1st time growing. Next grow is going to be epic!
