This is the anchoring method I arrived at: rubber band (dental braces size) stretched over the limb and armature, with a plastic scrap pushed through on each side.

I've just about finished the manifold training on most of these plants. I've been experimenting with different methods of securing the limbs to the armatures for training. I'm doing this so early so I'm concerned with finding something firm enough but gentle. I tried bent copper, wire ties, and ended up with the rubber band solution in the photos.
I'm thinking I may move these up to the flowering buckets/shelf next week.
I've followed the manifold technique taught at growweedeasy, but am trying one change in this grow. GWE's technique has me let each half grow and then trim except for 2 stems(+leaf) at node 1 and 2 stems(+leaf) at node 3. This is recommended because they grow laterally at 1 and 3 and stacked on 2 and 4. The change I am making is I am not trimming off the top stem(+leaf) at the second node. That would send up 5 stems on each side.
The reason I'm trying this is I damaged 2 or 3 embryonic stems during training, so I wanted to have an alternate branch ready to utilize if the plants don't recover from the damage I did. Later I don't know if I'll trim extra healthy branches or try to accommodate them all; ScOG grid is already set up for 48.
@Ragweed, I have this shelving unit in my closet. No tent. I hang a sheet of black paper with silver emergency blanket glued to it in front and back.

@professor, That's a great price. I'll be following your grow to see the results. I've been using a combination of 2' and 4' fluorescent T5s with a grow area of 12 sq. ft. and a total bulb wattage of 512W or 43 w/sq. ft. I'm pretty happy with them, but I like to experiment a bit, so I might give these a try. I'm sure you have it on your page somewhere, but what is the area of your grow tent? Thanks for the info and good luck with your grow.
@Ragweed, I’m using these right now. A combination of the red/blue and the warm white versions. 3 sets together. LED Grow Light, Aceple 2 Sizes... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0761KKJGQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Looks like you are as new at posting here as I am.
Another question- have you measured you EC or dissolved solids? Your grow is maybe a little more than a week ahead of mine and I'm going to compare notes since I am a real beginner at Aero or hydro growing.
I have not checked my ec yet because my meter is whacked. Got another one and will be checking in a few hours. Will post if I can figure out how.
@MikesGrow,
I take the plug of coco out with the seedling, and gently rinse the coco off the root. I don't measure the solution density, but am using about 2/3 the GH expert program recommendation for nutrients.
Looking good. I would let it grow maybe 5 to 6 nodes and top to the 3rd node for mainlining next time as it gives the roots more time to develop. Either way it should be a great grow best of luck.
Interested in how to do this. So my question is, after you put the sprout in the seedling box for a few days in coco, before you put them in the net cups do you remove the seedlings from the coco?
