New grow started this week which is always exciting. Popped 3 Seedsman Auto Blueberry to coincide with the beginning of Spring.
I started them Sunday in Jiffy pods & then transferred to the mini greenhouse on a heat mat. By Wednesday we were above ground & I put them into their final homes (a 70/30 coco peat to perlite blend) on Friday.
Today is Monday & they are cruising along in the sun, with abit of vertical growth over the weekend.
Watering had been ph balanced mix with Rapid Start root solution. Keeping them moist & covered with glass jars at night to stay warm. Nutes will start later today at 1/4 strength to really kick them into gear.
Looking forward to having them more established next week!
Stay tuned.
Originally there were going to be 100% indoors, but my other lady still has few weeks left to flower before the tent will be free. So for the tine being they are in the vegie patch :)
Great week this week for the 3 ladies!
Started their week with glass jars covering them to help with a random 2 nights of cool temps & 1 day of heavy rain, but this was followed by some really gorgeous & mid 20's sunny weather which they loved.
5cm growth from all 3 so far & I've continued with 1/4 strength mix of nutes & Rapid Start for some extra root growth. Giving roughly 250ml every 2 days (apart from the rain day).
I started them today on 1/2 strength nutes with added Cal-Mag.
So far the second sets of leaves are out & third sets are visible. The hardest part of life seems to be behind them :)
Some sunny days ahead with a touch of rain forecast (which I'm hoping blows over) this week so fingers crossed for some extra growth as the added nutes kick in.
Bit of a tough week with some really heavy & unexpected rain/cold weather coming midway through the week. The lil ladies got drenched as a result & were really not getting much bigger.
So I squished them in the tent with a flowering plant that is nearly done about 4 days ago. They got switched to 18/6 last night & already look way healthier. So outside visits will only be for hot daytime sun from now on.
Lil bit of vertical growth for all 3 ladies.
With total heights as follows -
Plant 1 - 10cm
Plant 2 - 8cm
Plant 3 - 9.5cm
Nutes ran at 1/2 strength this week with added Cal-Mag which I think was not really needed as after feeding I noticed a few spots on the leaves. This week I'm gonna cut the Cal-Mag & focus on just the grow nutes.
Looking forward to seeing more growth now they are getting a more substantial level of light.
Check back next week :)
Great week this week with my new light arriving & the girls getting proper efficient light at 18/6. I changed to 20/4 this afternoon as my other plant filling the tent will be out in 3 days, so the lil ladies should start pumping!
They have responded fast & have grown several sets of new leaves & shot up in height. The addition of full strength nutes at the start of the week has helped with that.
I started a small amount of LST on the stems early this week to help with their lankiness & with the help of my fan they are now looking nice & strong.
I noticed her first tiny pre flowers today, so I'm gonna run one more week of full strength grow nutes before switching over & letting the magic begin 😁
Really happy with these seeds so far!
Check back soon!
Great week this week with her really coming into the early stages of flower!
Lots of pistils & the emergence of main heads on all 3 of the girls plus decent growth all round has me very happy 😁
Height wise we are looking at 10cm growth since last week & I'm hoping for the stretch to continue into the next few weeks. I did a touch of LST on Day 39 to allow extra light on the heads & they responded really.
So far we are at the following -
P1 - 24cm
P2 - 23.5cm
P3 - 25cm
I continued Veg nutes this week with the reintroduction of Cal Mag now she is established & will be starting Bloom nutes this week.
Looking forward to seeing what this week had in store for me 😁
This week was exciting, I can't believe how much all 3 of the girls stretched!
We are looking at nearly double the height on all 3 plants.
Plant 1 - 45cm
Plant 2 - 43cm
Plant 3 - 49cm
I'm very impressed with how they have been progressing, lots more bud sites & the above mentioned growth has kept it very exciting.
I decided to try a Screen of Green technique for this grow. It's my first time with this so I'm hoping I get good results.
I attached it on Day 44 & have begun weaving colas in over the last few days to get as much light across all the buds as I can. So far so good as of Day 47 they are looking healthy. From Day 44 I also started abit of defoliation, super cropping (on the shorter colas) & lollypopping to maximise growth
Forst week of bloom nutes done & seeming to drink it up quick with each plant taking 250ml per day.
I have noticed an unsual alternate spiral growth pattern of the fan leaves & buds which is interesting. Not sure if this is of any benefit or just a genetic trait, but it looks cool.
All girls are loving life & I'm excited to see what this week brings!
Another great week of everything going as it should.
Continuing the Professors nutrients feeding schedule & increased watering to around 500ml-1L per day, the girls sure have been drinking it up fast!!
Stretch has wrapped up I think, with not much vertical growth in the later stages of the week but a good height for my tent.
Current & likely final heights are -
Plant 1 - 59cm
Plant 2 - 51cm
Plant 3 - 59cm
All the main colas I was trying to get through my Screen are through now thanks to abit of Super cropping, garden wire & LST throughtout the week & I'm pretty set on my training now apart from continuing to lightly defoliate leaves blocking light above the screen & lollipopping below the screen.
Excited to see the first trichromes this week as well!
Check back soon :)
Good week this last week gone with consistent growth (fattening) & all 3 girls looking very healthy.
My inklings last week on the plant's stretch period being finished was spot on with no extra height gained over the week.
I've continued light defoliation every few days to aide the buds in getting maximum light. Speaking of buds, there are so many heads & the main head on Plant #3 is getting big! I can't believe it's only the end of the thurd week of flower ha!
Two slight issues this week included some lightening of leaves around plant 1 & 2. I thought it may be an over feed issue so I have cut out Cal Mag for this coming weeks schedule & will note results.
Also a friend of mine who is growing the same strain popped by to see how my ladies are travelling. He's about 3 weeks behind me & getting really excited for his to start flowering. While he was checking out my plants he spotted a Plant hopper nymph tucked under of the leaves! It darted away quickly though & we lost sight of it!
I was super thankful for him spotting it & although it evaded me, after 2 days looking for it, I finally got it & it's additional 3 friends (all at different life stages) out of the tent. We have a large tree just outside the door where my tent is kept & being spring in my country, the tree is full of plant hoppers, so at least I know the source. So I'll be keeping an extra close eye from now on.
Not much more to report this week! Check back soon :)
This week flew by with some really nice changes to go with it.
It was only when I looked back at the photos from last week that I noticed the dramatic change in leaf & stem colour on plants 1 + 2. And much to my excitement there is purple coming through as we enter the later half of flowering 😁
As per last weeks mention of cutting Cal Mag & doing further research, I realised it was the plant hoppers doing the damage so this week I will reintroduce the Cal Mag. I did find some more plant hoppers this week annoyingly, but I introduced a Praying Mantis that I found in the house into my tent last night who is currently loving life & will be my live in pest defender (I hope).
Watering continues at roughly 500ml per day & the buds getting fruitier & fatter by the day. The fruity smell is increasing & the tent smells like berry candy!
I did some very minor defoliation this week, but not much more is needed until the final stages I think.
Check back next week :)
Standard week this week & I've patiently been watching the buds fatten up nicely.
Plant 3 is by far the fattest of the 3 ladies & I'm thinking that her being at the back of the tent & harder to access has attributed to this. Plant 1 & 2 are looking good but with the amount of purple showing on the stems & smaller buds I am thinkin that I went abit hard on the defoliation & super cropping in earlier weeks. Speculative of course, but the 3 plants look dramatically different.
I added Cal-Mag again this week & managed to eliminate any residual plant hoppers & larvae. Unfortunately my introduced Praying Mantis got stuck on my yellow sticky sheet & I wasn't able to save the poor thing :(
Watering has stayed the same & i've been giving about a litre every 2 days or so. The weather & temps in my area have been very wet / high this week so my humidity levels were a touch high. But I've been keeping a close eye on all the bud sites & removing any fan leaves as necessary.
Not much more to report this week but we are in the final weeks now & the leaves are slowly starting to die & I'm getting excited.
Slight delay on this weeks entry as I have been busy with work!
Week 6 of flowering was very stress free & the buds are getting really solid! Trichs are milky & all 3 ladies overall are lookin gorgeous.
I've included a video this week so make sure to go through all the photos 😁
I've been upping my watering to around 750ml per day & the girls haven't had any issues drinking it all up.
I did change the light cycle from 20/4 to 18/6 at the start of this week to give the ladies some extra sleep & time to get fatter.
Light defoliation has continued as some of the leaves are starting to yellow & I've removed a few extras from around the bigger buds to give them some extra air.
They all are looking so good & I'm loving the smell! It is understandable why this strain is called Blueberry!
Check back soon, 2 weeks left! 😊🌿
This last week has been a good one. I've been watching the girls get so much fatter, it's actually awesome haha
All 3 ladies look beautiful & are starting to display signs of the end in the leaves. I imagine next weeks flush will exacerbate these signs too.
I dropped my feed down slightly as per the Professors Nutrients feeding schedule & pumped up the watering to 1L per day. The plants had no issues with taking the extra water & I would imagine it's helping the buds get that much thicker.
I started defoliating mid week & particularily on Plant 3 to clear out any bigger leaves & leaves gaps to hopefully be filled + give the bigger buds some air. She's gotten the least amount of defoliation this grow as she's at the back of my tent. But she also has by far the bigger buds... so a good lesson learned for future grows.
I also cut all LST wires at the end of this week & now all plants are holding their own.
All plants trichs are looking nice & Plant 3 has more amber in the colouring, it also happens to have the bigger colas 😏 Plant's 1 & 2 trichs however appear to be more dense.
The change of light cycle from last week has seemed beneficial with no negatives sighted, which has been good.
It's hard to believe that this coming week is the start of the flush & my next post will be harvest. It's exciting!
Check back for the harvest ✌️🏼
Well that was a fun ride! 101 days from the seed hitting soil.
It all started off abit sketchy being outdoors in the cool pre Spring air & then crammed in next to a Photoperiod plant at 12/12 means these girls had a rocky start. But alas they really came good & I pulled a decent amount off each.
P1 - 26.7g
P2 - 27.4g
P3 - 38.2g
I staggered my harvest to experiment with an optimal flush cycle & I've noticed a pretty clear difference in the smoothness & taste of the in Plant 3 which was flushed the longest at 10 days. The others received 5 (Plant 2) & 7 (Plant 1) days flushing respectively.
All 3 plants grew relatively similar until I cut down the net & got to look at them properly & Plants 1 & 2 were very leggy with Plant 3 being thicker & deeper green in colour. It was very interesting to see the visual differences in the phenotypes.
In my last week P3 copped abit of a beating with myself nearly snapped off 2 branches due to weight & the whole plant started to foxtail which was very interesting to watch.
Overall as a grow I had alot of fun but next time I aim to defoliate less, much less haha as I'm still hoping to pull bigger yields that are more in-line with the height of my plants. It's an excellent past time to watch these plants grow day by day & although I'm getting better & making less mistakes, I was blessed to have decent genetics to help my ladies get across the finish line.
Now it's time to enjoy my buds which have pretty much cured & are smoking a treat!
Hope everyone enjoyed my diary & I'll be starting up another after the Xmas holidays 🤓🍁
