Popped quick as always with Fast Buds seeds, solid growth throughout the first week, a bit odd/smooth look to em, but nothing that I'm gonna worry about. Seeing as the CalMag I'm using apparently needs to be used in huge amounts, I'll start my calmag earlier and heavier than previous runs.
Trying things a bit different this time with the soil and soil health. Previously, I've been letting the soil carry it through until deficiencies show and then feeding, but I'm always a week behind cause organic. This also leads to the microbes having nothing to break down and then the PH of the soil getting thrown off.....looking at you other diaries. This time I've top dressed in Week 2 with a light solution of Elemental, Uprising Foundation, and Uprising Grow. At the end of the week, on their second watering, I did a compost Tea of the Terp Teas plus the Trinity ( molasses and other carbs) and the Extreme Serene ( kelp ). They have taken to this heavy feeding (comparatively to my other Auto grows) very well. I am monitoring the soil PH with my new pen to avoid the issues I'm having with the RQS and SoloCup grows.
LST'd them last night and they've recovered and oriented all ready, maybe a bit early on day 14, but I'll keep re-tying and stretching them as needed. I have also planted clovers, they took forever to come up but they are starting to spout now.
On my next grow, I am going to pre-amend the soil for 4 weeks of feeding and then do a top dress in week 3/4 that should carry the plant out to the finish. I'd like to get to the point of plain watering the entire time, maybe a tea or two here or there for some immediate deficiency relief.
Going continue to tie down, tuck, and adjust everyday. Showing happy healthy and vigorous growth. I'm feeding them way more than previous auto grows, and they seem to be loving it.
Continuing LST and Tie downs this week. Top Dressing with Bloom, grow and Foundation this week, started to show mild mag striping early in the week, and the 0.25% water-sol mag in the foundation took care of that. I began feeding a lot earlier and a lot heavier this time as in previous grows, I was feeling my soil was running out of nutrients and then I was always playing catch up. They are growing fast and I'll continue to adjust and light defoil everytime I LST. Debating on setting up a trellis for these, the structure of them is begging for it.
I am really pleased with how these are growing, I've been feeding them more, keeping the soil healthy and the microbes eating the organic material instead of molasses or cane sugar. They are kinda starting to take over the tent, so I am going to move everyone into my larger tent so I can spread these out a bit more. One of em is drinking about double the rate of the other one. Plain water only with a weekly top dress of the 3 amendments.
I've been bottom feeding 1200ml per pot until that gets fully absorbed, and then top down with a contractor sprayer about 600-800ml per plant. No runoff, been watering when the pot is dry-1/4 weight. Lil droop on the front one this AM, pot is light, this plant in particular has been extremely sensitive to watering, anything longer than 2-3 hours after the pots gets to where I should start prepping water, the leaves are drooped, always come back within a hour of watering.
Continuing to train a bit and defoil as she grows. Feeding and growing. Top dressing with the above amendments and plain water PH'd to 6.0-6.2 to keep the soil 6.3-6.5. Bottom watering with 600-1200ml and then about the same from above, no run off. Can't wait to see what they next couple of weeks holds for these gals. Amendment's above should be 15ml/plant. ( 1 tablespoon per plant )
Continuing to defoil where needed ( they need it now ). Top Dressing with 1 TBL of the amendments above, and then a bit of Recharge or BioForce in the water at 1tsp/gal here and there. Everything is looking healthy and normal, a bit of lightening near the top on the larger plant, but I've adjusted my light schedule and PPFD more in line with what they should be getting.
Big, happy, healthy plants. These gals are putting on weight on growing, need a another defoil this week to improve airflow and light penetration. Switched these into the new tent, under the new lights and they seem to be responding well. Looking forward to harvest on these gals but a couple more weeks to go yet!
No nutes this week, letting them finish up what is in the soil and the leaves. Starting to take on their fall colors. One is pretty much done, gonna let it finish up over today and tomorrow. The other needs another week or two, gonna let her finish and bulk up. They stink to high heaven and can smell them through the carbon filters. Really looking forward to chopping these down, but patience must prevail!
Let the 2nd plant run out another week to finish up, and finish up she did in full autumn colors! These plants were easy to grow and train, with some good feeding they really took off.
