It's taken 2 months to get to this point. I have had trouble getting the environment warm enough. Especially in the start. I would have like to leave them for another two weeks before switching to flower but that could be a problem at the other end. Expecting these to take 70 days in flower
Did some extreme defoliation today. Removed everything no getting enough light. Have added some new photos. Not the ideal time to do it - day 2 of transition but having some problems controlling the environment due to the weather so thought it better to strike early!
Generally looking ok - I haven't done a great job of training them this grow. Last grow I went with main-lining and it was much better. They had such a slow start I thought main-lining would slow them down even more. But now I am regretting it.
The EC has jumped up from 1.3 to 1.7 this week so I will have to watch out for signs of nutrient burn.
This is my first time using Emerald Goddess nutes. Previously I had used Canna Coco. I like that it has all of the boosters and stuff in one starter pack. A bit on the expensive side, but so far the results look good.
Lots of terps already which is what I am after.
Canopy has filled out nicely. Think that they may need another hard defoliation at the end of next week
Plants are really stretching well. Continuing to fill out the ScrOG net. Looking for a nice even canopy.
Defoilated to front left plant. Removed a ton of fan leaves and opened it right out. Not sure whether I will do this to the other two, will see how the first one bounces back. Would prefer to sacrifice some harvest weight for better airflow. Don't want the mould!
Lollipopped all three day 20
The big defoliation/lollipopping doesn't seem to have set them back too much. I think they are going to be much more manageable like this. Really great airflow through them.
The nutrient tank and the autopot trays are looking pretty gummed up - so i layed off the recharge this week. So even though the nutrients have bumped up in strength, without the recharge the EC is the same as last week. Will be keeping an eye out for nutrient burn as it feels like a bit of a big jump.
Day 34 - 30L all gone by Friday. Threw in another 10L. Small amount of nutrient burn as expected. Also seeing a bit of yellowing on older fan leaves. Perhaps som N deficiency. Would like to through in some cal-mag but don’t have ph pen or up/down. Don’t want to fuck with the ph and have found cal-mag hard to use previously. Will do without for now.
Cleaned out reservoir and added 40L of water and nutes.
Looking good - not sure how much my hard out defoliation is going to effect yield. I'd be happy with 150gm and ecstatic with 300gm :-)
Day 36 - finally got around to grabbing some cuts and putting them in a small tent to re-veg. Late to take cuts I know - but interested to see what happens.
Into a small propagation tent in EZ Cloner under t5 flouresent
Pump died on coroner. Clones dead. Will start again tomorrow
Seeing quite a bit of nute burn in the tips. Reduced EC from 1.6 to 1.4 for the week. Not seeing signs of any nute lock out.
No signs of pests or pathogens at this stage.
Gah - some problems last week. As in the photos i started to see some of the older fan leaves on the back left plant start to fade. At first I thought this was light burn, so I put the light up 5 inches. I came back a couple of days ago to find that it had start to spread in less extreme way to the others and that they weren't using any nutes from the reservoir. Further investigation showed that the lines were clogged (because I have been putting Recharge in the res - doh - won't do that again). So I cleaned the res, cleaned the autopot bases, valves and lines. The res is filed with fresh nutes. We will see how it goes.
I think I need to pay more attention to PH also. Will start testing and adjusting daily (as soon as I get a PH pen).
Turned the temps back up last week. I think that with the led it was just too cold. The stopped drinking nutes and just stalled. They seem back on track now. Will feed this week. Flush next week and harvest at least 2 of the plants. One looks like it has a bit further to go
Starting flush according to Emerald Harvest schedule. These are meant to be 8-9 week strains but the trics look all clear. Wonder if they will go 2 weeks from here. Maybe I am flushing too early?
Waiting waiting. The Chocolope and the super silver haze are still going. The SSH has lots of clear trichs. The Chocolope has about 25% amber but still a lot of clear trichs
