Chowswooster It's still a bit hot to grow, but I have a/c so it's at least controllable. I'm treating this as an experiment in wattage per plant. I'm growing my last Black Jack from last years seeds, under both my HLG 135 Rspec lights. In a 3x3 tent. Also in a bigger bag than I've used before. So at 270 watts per plant, I'm hoping to grow a monster. All the Black Jack's I grew last year smelled amazing and were so gooey. I have also started buying distilled water to feed her. My first two seasons I used tap water with high ppms and experienced nutrient lock on many of my plants. When I get going with nutrients I'm going to try using just base nutrients, b vitamin, and a microbial drench every other week. Which is far fewer bottles than I've used in the past.

Chowswooster Well she looks pretty good. Nice and perky! I topped it a few days ago, above the second node. I do that so it has lots of recovery time. It is coming up a little mutated, missing part of one of its main leaves. And also only three branch sprouts, instead of four. I've seen this before and I usually blame it on hot soil. She will snap out of it when she starts to fill out. The last plant to do that to me was actually the most bushy, by the end. Thanks for checking out my plant!

Chowswooster End of week 3 and she's gotten off to a really good beginning. I started LST mid-week and have gotten the top of the plant nice and flat. I'm keeping the lights at a distance through the next few weeks, to encourage a mighty stretch. Coloration and vigor are looking pretty ideal. Thanks for checking in!

Chowswooster As you can see, there's been a ton of growth in week 4. LST is keeping it short and flat. She is ready to stretch and I'm going to let her. She is also flipping to flower. Thanks for checking in!

Chowswooster Black Jack auto grew about six inches over the course of the week and grew another inch while I was at work yesterday. So she's really stretching now. She's drinking about half a gallon of water per day. Gave one feeding of microbe brew early in the week and fed just base nutrients the rest of the days. I'm really very happy with these first 5 weeks. I'm excited to find out how much space she'll take up in the 3x3 with all that light to herself. Happy growing, to you all!

Chowswooster An explosion of growth this week. She's a BBW! She shot up 15 inches over the week and is now taking up 2.5ft x 2.5ft in the 3x3. Buds are forming nicely. I fed her a couple shots of Armor Si this week, so she doesn't get too floppy when the buds fatten up. Also added B-52 to the mix this week. Pushed the base nutrients to half strength. This plant has made up my mind and I think I will continue growing just 1 plant at a time. I can't imagine needing more weed than this beast is going to produce. I did start the process of popping my next seed a couple days ago. Next diary will be Vision Seeds Amnesia Haze Auto. Good luck everyone, have a great week!

Chowswooster This week I added a stainless steel rack to make drainage easier to empty. It will also keep the pot and lower leaves away from my space heater, when it's time to add that. I added a net at the top to spread her branches a bit, to get more light down inside the canopy. Also it will provide some support if the branches start flopping over from weight. Pom poms are chunking up a little. So I have to admit something... I didn't have a ph pen until last week. The pen I used last year dried up and was drifting bad. I just was trusting the "ph perfect" technology in the AN. Turns out that was drifting too. Runoff was at 5.8, but a couple of my feeds may have drifted down to a ph of 4 somehow. So I ordered a new ph pen. Advanced Nutrients website says this doesn't matter, because of some special chelates. Doesn't mean I have to like it. I bought some ph up, AN Nirvana organic bloom booster as well as some Terpinator. Probably only 1 more week of nutrients, but better late than never. I pushed the base nutrients to full strength this week, continued on with the b52 at full too. Still drinking a gallon of water per day and a half. So it's basically a morning feeding, an after work feeding and then a skip day. Regardless of my ph problem this plant is showing zero issues and I'm super excited to complete this grow. Happy growing guys and gals! See you next Monday.

Chowswooster She's getting chunky. Still seems to have plenty of flowering left to do. I noticed some tip burn happening so I mostly just fed her plain water all week. My next grow maybe I'll switch to a nutrients, water, water type of feed schedule. Lots of people seem to swear by it. The smell is very lemony at this stage, with a bit of funk behind it. Lots of little trichomes popping up everywhere. I purchased a 1.5 gallon distiller last week so I can stop buying water from the store. It should suit my purposes well. The Black Jack is in no hurry and neither am I. Thanks to @Purpleworship @Needsmorefans <---- great user name and @Sweetseeds for following along and liking my posts. Not just lurking like a creep. Have a good week!

Chowswooster Another wonderful problem free week for my Black Jack Auto! Some lower leaves have faded and dried out. And now some of the top leaves are starting to fade a bit. No crazy colors yet, but I'm keeping the tent a bit cooler and crossing my fingers. No nutrients this week. Runoff ppm is around 1100 so I think she should be fine until finishing. She got crazy frosty this week. Her lemon smell has gotten much more complex. At the forefront now it smells like Fruity Pebbles (artificially fruit flavored puffed rice cereal) Lemon-lime and brand new leather shoes 🤷‍♂️ I am addicted to sniffing this plant. The nugs are swelling well now and I anticipate harvesting in week 11 or 12. Thanks for following along.

Chowswooster Second full week of flush. Runoff ppm are down to 600 or so. I think she needs at least one more week. Let me know what you think. Trichomes are mostly cloudy, no amber but some still clear. I like a good % of amber trichs, so I may be waiting until late week 12 for harvest. She's got a good amount of purple sugar leaves. Fan leaves are fading to a traditional yellow. She is still chugging tons of water and that's a good sign, that she isn't done yet. Thanks for checking in!

Chowswooster Great fall colors happening this week! She's pretty faded, but still just cloudy trichomes. Runoff ppm now below 400. Started feeding 2 gallons of plain water when it's dry to flush a little extra every watering. She has slowed considerably on water intake, which is another sign she's almost done. Going to continue flushing until I get some damn amber trichs. She still smells and looks gorgeous. I'm pumped to harvest this plant and get another grow going. Especially since I bought a ChilLED Tech Growcraft Mini to use as supplemental lighting. Now totaling 330 watts of Made in the USA lighting in the 3x3. Still living the blurple life in my 2x4 tent, but I've got some ideas how to fix that soon. Thanks for having a look at my grow. Have a good week!

Chowswooster Stripped all the fan leaves and hung her up in three pieces, because my loppers wouldn't fit around the whole stem. Biggest plant I've ever grown by a lot. Humidity is down in Southwest Michigan so she should dry quick. I don't want to speculate on yields and put my foot in my mouth later. However there are fifty million buds on this plant and I'm anticipating a very large yield. I treated her like a superstar after all. Can't wait to try the smoke! Thanks to everyone who followed along and dropped a like. I'm going to take this opportunity to ask everyone a question. Don't you think you should be able to like the pics in a weekly post? I mean it seems a bit ridiculous that it's not an option. Anyway check back in a week or so for the numbers! Happy growing.

Really smooth smoke! Hasn't cured yet either. Smells so strong and hard to describe. Spicy candy? Fruity lemon cleaner? Hope that helps.

Chowswooster What an epic plant. I trimmed almost all of it. My only regret is not lollipoping her. Probably could have chunked up the tops a little that way. But whoa! Once or twice I got 6 oz from an auto, but damn. Just shy of 8 is cool with me. Curing in some big jars with Bovida packs. Thanks for all the encouragement and for just checking in. My next 3x3 grow is delayed by covid mail trickery. I am growing a couple ugly ducklings in the meantime.

I usually wait until there is about 25-50% amber trichs myself. At least 25% tho. She looks like she could still go a week or so. Make sure to check them trichs twice or so in that time. I would see if you can flush those PPMs a bit lower if possible, might pull more purp. Do you add a flushing agent? And do you gradually flush or do one large flush and finish with minimal feeding? Lookin great!!! Killin it!

@JuicyBuds__BLM, hey thanks! I have never gotten the flush right. I have some flawless finish, but this time I have just been feeding 1 1/2 gallons ph'd distilled water. So there's about 1/3 gallon of runoff. I have been doing that 2 weeks now. Started at 1400 ppm runoff now down to 600, so I think I might nail it this time.
