All 3 seedstockers bcn critical xxl are still surviving the heat and in preflower.
All 3 girls are 20 inches tall with fat strong stems... They are all on the Remo Nutrients flowering nutes at full dose every other water, and 6.5 pH water on the alternate.
All 3 are in slightly different stages of early flower but stacking and building great bud sites
I have been removing about 6 to 8 shade leaves per week, giving them time to recover before each minor defoliation, but I tell ya what, it may go against the general autoflower etiquette lol, they seem to love it, and are standing proud withing an hour of doing it... I only did it on 1 for a start to observe the reaction... As for stunting growth, it didn't apply in this case because it is the most advanced of the 3 and went into flower first and due to the increase in light to the lower growth it is packing on everywhere.
I moved onto doing it to all 3 and the results are very promising..
Some heat stress and light burn this week but hopefully have it under control now temps are dropping slightly
Tune in next week
Happy growing
RSB
Your grow looks great! I'm new and am considering trying this strain, but forgive me, I dont know what BCN stands for and can't find an answer online. Thanks!
@RustyStarbuck72, I contacted a clone/seed bank (cannabis collective) who explained the BCN is a geographic identifier, this one in particular is from Barcelona, or at least thats how it was described to me. Thanks again!
Plant will come back soon, she just had a stretch, and was alittle to low in water and nutes, . She will look much better soon. Its way better to have an underfeeding// underwatering than an excess... Hemp is resilant
@Ixnay, lol the four tragedies happened due to the tent getting too hot In the heatwave. I was left them a day and when I went in the temp was 49ยฐc and humidity was 20 percent... It was 35 outside and the tent lives in the only safe place I have which is a concrete out building with a ton roof. they were as dead as the doe doe lol... I just shut the tent down.. Trouble was I had already cracked these 3 xxls and had them In Pellets ready to transfer to the tent... I haven't lstd these ones as I'm not quite sure of age.. They had a week and a bit outside in small pots as the tent was too hot still.. The 3 week age on here is from when they got put in the tent and then finally transfered to the 11 litre pots.. I planned to lst this lot but due to the fact they could go Into flower at any minute I thought I would not stress them further and just let these grow out in peace... I will lightly lst and leaf tuck to reveal new growth but the next 2 in there are going to get lst'd properly.
@RustyStarbuck72, we're in a similar boat for sure.. I also struggled with a heatwave for the beginning (32ยฐc some days), but come next summer you'll be prepared ๐
Yours looks like theyre growing well..
I would definitely recommend LST'ing. Mine was growing so slow I almost binned it, but then thought F it and went a little crazy with LST to see what would happen, I even snapped the main stem at one point but you wouldnt know today, it bounced back well and I'm predicting a better yield than expected! The SS Critical is known for being a pretty rugged strain for beginners..
At least try it on 1 or 2 if your not up for doing all 3, then you can compare results, I bet youll be surprised and gain some confidence for your next 2 ๐๐ฟ
How did you manage to kill 4?
@Ixnay, cheers mate, it is all new to me, and having a heatwave just when I started killing 4 plants and putting these 3 back a week before they went in threw me a bit. I'm not sure if they look good or not for the start of week 3 or not.. I think if get the watering frequency right I will be somewhere close. I have 2 new starters just gone in and they will be starting on a good foot so using 3 three critical xxls as a learning experience... I am not going to stress them with lst this time, but the new 2 starters will be lst'd.. Thanks for your comment mate, I'm following yours too
