So far just filled up the new earthbox junior I was sent and my main soil seemed to have gotten some bugs cuz saw someone stinging insects crawling thru it and def was chasing stuff inside! Seedling bin tho was all clear so used it instead and improvised! She’ll still rock out I have no doubts! Only on day 4 today but haven’t crawled in to get pick since day 2 as seen in last photo of the baby! In other news didn’t track her on here but just chopped frozen scoops rocbudinc and HOLY MOLEY!!!
So far she’s literally growing herself! All I’m doing is keeping res full of plain water with 1oz of lactic acid bacteria serum added! SLF100 once a week also and that’s it! Topdress homegrown bokashi too for some nutrients to feed soil and extra microbe diversity!
So she’s been growing pretty easy peasy except my mishap with ph in soil! I got lazy this last time and instead of building soil into base sphagnum moss 1 ingredient at a time I used craft blend instead and my dumb ass therefore forgot the dolomite lime! Won’t make that mistake again as it was 5.3ph when I caught it! Luckily other than some ugly leafs she’s rocking out!
So I had big issue from using LABS (lactic acid bacteria serum) and when I saved any leftover I didn’t bother checking before using next watering and hadn’t checked it’s ph! Wondered why my soils ph kept on plummeting and now I know why! Usually microbial life in soil even forgetting lime can fix itself eventually but this dropped under 5.0 and realized the leftover h2o+LABS was falling to 3.3! THIS ALSO MEANS EVEN USING LABS AT ALL IN MY EARTHBOX JUNIORS if they aren’t drinking a full gallon a day (what reservoir holds internally) then ph is also dropping as it sits in the res! Now know gotta swap back to my urb naturals or maybe snag mammoth P to try! Come to think of it prob can save some $$ cuz shouldn’t actually even need to add bunch of extra microbes via the water since crazy microbes in soil already from the homegrown bokashi goodness!
She’s finally back to doing the damn thang and isn’t giving me the middle finger from ph being below 5! Got her back in range and she’s cruising to the finish line! Crazy dark purple fade coming thru and she’s def got a strong grape funk stanking up my bedroom! Looking forward to this smoke that’s for sure!
Letting ph plummet into the 4’s really took a toll and lost bunch of fan leafs and guarantee I’ll lose some yield but at least she survived! Think I have maybe 5-7 days left max and then she’ll get the chop! Prob Sat or Mon! We’ll see!
So she’s been chopped and drying last 10 days and prob get final trim tomorrow! Didn’t do harvest update since don’t have that weight or smoke report yet but diiizzaaaaam smells loud like some grape gas! Stanking up the whole house! Had to go ahead and chop her lil before I normally would have cuz the ph falling down to 4.7 caused tons of issues! Lucky she made it to harvest at all but her fan leafs were all burnt off and some sugar leafs were starting to go so gave her the axe! Woulda been my luck after all this that 1 of the sugar leafs shriveling up finds its way into top of a bud and cause a mid infestation to take off! Better off not to risk anything trying to milk it to the last second!
