I actually started this seed the same day as my Purple Punch Cookies (PPC) grow, but the seed head was stuck on this one. I removed the head immediately, but the membrane was still attached to the seedling and it took me a few hours of research to get up the nerve to remove it, and it's been about a week behind the PPC development-wise. :( Lesson learned for next time.
Started of nutes at ¼ strength during seedling stage and worked up to ½ strength.
Trying the "Ponytail technique" to areas where removing or bending leaves isn't optimum. Still experimenting with how long to leave "ponytail" on.
She's really taken off. I started this seed the same day as my Purple Punch Cookies grow, but the seed pod got stuck on this seedling, so I left her in germination for an extra week to recover...she was a bit stunted but took off. I was amazed when I moved this Pure Kush plant to the flower tent next to the Purple Punch Cookies.....she's outgrown her a bit!! Not just caught up, but actually a bit bigger!! Whoo Hoo!!!
I think I may have over-defoliated last week....not too bad...but I wish I had left more....lesson learned.
Also had my pH bottom out on me, but the ppm's stayed good. Research pointed to too much nutes, so I started flushing before each daily feed, and the pH is back under control.
The buds are starting to really thicken up...she's so pretty....
I added an afternoon, water-only flush in addition to her morning feed and the pH and PPM's seem to have stabilized.
I can't believe how fast she's growing. I expect to harvest her sometime during week 7.
First amber hairs and she is getting soooo frosty!!! I've decided not to use Fox Farm's Cha-Ching...I don't like the reviews I've read and that's one less nute to flush out later.
I REALLY wish I hadn't taken so many leaves......lesson SO learned.
Water/feed her twice a day...I'm trying to love her hard enough to ripen her...she's killing me making me wait.
Excellent lesson learned this week: when checking for maturity, check the trichomes on the BUD, not the sugar leaves. Almost started flushing WAY too early!
