The first couple weeks of grow I didn’t take pictures so I will insert pictures of my second grow start. Don’t get confused I am growing 5 plants for round 1 regardless of # of plants in pictures.
I will be clear when the pictures are of this grow.
I didn’t use any nutrients until week 3. I used Zero Water to water the sprouts, although I later learned it wasn’t really useful I actually removed useful calcium from the water. On very sunny days I put the sprouts in the window.
Plants are now basically settled into their routine. All I have to do now is get a small fan and start the exhaust fan up, swap to the more intense light... yeah lots of work left to do. Also I don’t water my plants daily. At this point the soil stays moist for most of the week.
Started seeing a calcium deficiency (I think) so I started really looking into what I wasn’t doing for my plants. I read that low humidity can cause issues to arise. I also started checking the soil ph and it shows up extrmely alkaline.
This week has flown by with all the different prep work to be done. Slowly trimming away fan leaves that block budding points, and keeping the plants rotated. At this point I water basically every other day. Finally getting my PH to where I want it, so far no signs of serious trouble! Flushed the plants end of this week to ensure no buildup and get the plants ready for pre bloom. These plants are ready to flower! As I trimmed them I saw white pistils on the main stem! Week 8 flower starts these plants will get huge!
This was transition week. I saw the plants were ready to flower and I figured it was time. I flushed the system with plain tap water and then trimmed most of the lower branches and fan leaves. After a couple days of R&R and rotating, these girls are looking promising and putting out quite a smell. Very excited first the next handful of weeks.
Switched the plants to 12/12 finally this week. Kicked all the younger sprouts out into a different set up, making this tent officially the flowering tent. Trim off these is super fragrant, made some cannabutter with it the other day- can’t wait to try that out!
So yeah I finally did a major trim on these girls. Now that I’ve gotten past the mental wall of worrying that trimming would harm the plants, I’m ready to chop whatever off! Not that I would!
I’ve been trimming these girls as much as I can to keep the plant focused on the canopy. First grow so I was having trouble cutting budding branches lower down, but the trim won’t go to waste! Anyways settled into a flowering cycle now, plants are very healthy and responsive.
Really having fun with these girls. They aren’t getting much taller just concentrating on the flowers! Drying trim to see what it’s like at this point.
This week the plants haven’t been doing much. Just a waiting game. At this point the trim is awesome to smoke. I dried a bunch out and tried it. Totally awesome !
This week I’ve been watching the beautiful growth and watching for those changes that mean it’s time to flush! Can not wait to harvest, the smell is crazy strong, I can smell from a distance even with the exhaust fan going! How is my first grow looking?
At this point I am thinking the next watering will be a flush. I am very excited and nervous for my first harvest. I will also be using a dehumidfier during flush to keep everything ideal. UPDATE I spoke to my local hydroponic/ grow experts and I will be pushing flush one additional week... really looking forward to harvest baby!!!!
This week has been exciting! I’ve been learning a bunch about harvest and I’m very excited to harvest at long last! I have done the initial flush on two plants, one last round of nutrient on the others. I took the main top off one plant as shown in the pictures, currently it is drying. Harvest is a very sticky and fragrant process, and so exciting!! This will be the last week of flower, flush and harvest are in full swing!
No more nutrients, everything is starting the flush. Two plants started flush last week, now everything is just water. Next round of plants are ready to rotate in, dry room is being set up. These girls are SMELLY! Drying room needs great ventilation or the entire place is going to smell.
Now that I have done a grow, I can see exactly where I can improve. I’m a little disappointed in the bud size, that will be something I work on in the future. The next rotation of plants have been topped and stress trained.
