Being a second time first time grower i made the usual mistakes. I germinated with the moist paper towel method. Waited for the tap root and tossed them in the coco. In my haste i placed them 2 inches down or so. The next morning i woke up and decided that i made a mistake and all the seeds must be dug up 🙃. Yes, yes, yes i know im a dumby. Ive learned and moved on. My other issue this week was when i got my nutes i had purchased part a of ph perfect coco grow and part a of ph perfect coco bloom. Well good things seedlings dont need much for nutes because i went to the grow shop and everything else was there except coco grow part b, im telling the shelves were stacked and there was one empty row just misaing this exact nute that i needed, ugh. Well i hoped for the best as i waited for them to restock.

I hoped for the best as i waited for them to restock. Going into week 2 with a nitrogen deficiency developing on one of the lower set of leaves on only one of the plants. Ive seen this before on my first plant. Coupled with the fact that i knew i was missing half of my nutrient soloution this was an easy issue to pin down. After the hydro shop still hadnt stocked up on my part b i just got 1 day prime shipping. So i finally fed them a full nute soloution on day 9. As I feed them I decided there needed to be more air movement. So i lowered my 12in fan to about their level 🙃 and turned it on low. I decided to check on them in the evening. The fan was far too strong this close. It pushed the closest plants leaves into the soil over and over again over the course of a few hours, damaging the tip of one leaf. That was fixed by lifting the fan up higher and letting the wind blow down the sides of the tent onto the leaves. A 6in fan would have been plenty at this stage. But the timing on this made me question the if it was the fan or nute burn. It was definitely the fan.

Started LST Yesterday afternoon. Used a metal clothes hanger. Cut it into about 10in sections and bent them into U's and put them around the top node. I think its day 15 today, I hope they keep on the track their on now. Sept 5th i accidently snapped a new large fan leaf off one of the larger WWs. Tops were already formed underneath the leaf. Maybe the light hitting them directly will be better for it in the long run.

Yesterday i built a drainage system for the plants. I was tired of taking them all out of the tent when i had to dump the water out of the trays. So i framed a structure that was a upper case I. A flat top and bottom with a middle connecting the 2. One side had 8in feet the other had 6in. The shape of the I was made so i can fold it into it self and just make 1 skinny piece of wood. The difference in height was so I can pitch the drains going downhill. The plants are looking good though! Sept 12th. The smallest of the first/larger 3 started showing its sex yesterday, the 2 largest ones arnt ready yet i guess, probably another day or 2.

The stakes i made out of coat hangers ended up being far to weak for these plants. Within 2-3 hours they ripped them out of the ground and went back upwards. So i swapped over to 1 string tied to the main stalk. The new tops are just being hand trained. 2-3 times a day i re arrange the fan leaves and branches a bit. They showed their sex a few days ago and its getting smelly. I think the older 3 will flip to flower during this week. 9/16 While training one of the old main tops I cracked the stalk. I dont think it even cracked half way through. But out of caution I took a very small piece of duct tape and covered the crack and then use a zip tie very loosley wrapped around the main stalk and a new stronger top next to it.

Flowering started mid last week. smell is getting stronger. The smallest of the 3 plants actually started growing a bit faster. I centered it under the light for about a week and a half and then it started to get reallly tall and scraggly so i moved it to the side because i didnt wantthe tallest plant to be in the center, dictating my light height for me. But it seems to have slowed down vertically and is now the farthest ahead in flowering by q decent margain. Sept 24. After a lot of debating with myself of the pros and cons, im hoping i made yhe right decision. I defoliated. The reason i did was the canopy was so dense air couldnt pass through it. The tent was holding 72% rh for the past few days with my exhaust on full speed. So i hope 3 things were accomplished. 1. I hope enough air can pass through the canopy, avoiding .old in the near future. 2. Since there isnt as much dense leaves im hooing the rh will drop a bit. 3. More light to the many bud sites that are already prominent. There are things im worried about though. Since I hit flower mid last week and defoliated now, did i just fuck my entire harvest. My other worry is did i remove enough.

Starting week 7. Everything looks good. Fighting temps now, should go back to normal in a few days then ill be fighting from the opposite direction. Talked to a a few dudes at the grow shop and they said do not touch the autoflower during flower. Just let it do what it wants. I told him I already did a large defoliation run but i wont do another. You live you learn. Got RH down to 60% with lights on at 82F. Lights off is the worry now. Temps drop to mid 60s maybe low 60s. I have a heater that I havent used yet. Id like it on a timer but with this heater a timer is not possible.

Canopy desity is still a huge comcern for me. I dont have any experience with this. This is only really my second time growing, if youd count the first time in a gutted out dresser. So even in the dresser, it was 2 1.5ft photos. Using cfl bulbs. So all of this is new territory, autoflowers, lights, tent etc. Long story short i now have a 12 inch hurricane on medium oscillate going over the tops. I have a tube shaped fan thats about 3ft tall on oscillate on the other side, blowing directly through the canopy. Then i have a small metal fan just to move a bit more air. I got the humidity semi under control at 60-65%. Hopefully the dry winter air can help me along a bit more. If you have any suggestions, no matter how obvious, ill take them.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether the canopy is too dense or not? Im worried about as the buds get more dense. Also if it is too dense, what would your fix be?

At this stage I wouldn't remove anything. The last 2 to 3 weeks you can start to remove. For now just tuck bug leaves down and in to let light in if you think they need more light down lower. Cheers

Plant on the right, its pheno grows faster for sure. It also smells different than its 2 sisters atthe same age. Slight fruit smell mixed with a skunk. I wanna pluck a nug and try out the meds. But ive refrained this long, i will continue. The furthest along plant on the right will be ran into freah frozen bubble then into hash rosin. At least a wet pound will be. Depeneds on yields if i run more. Exciting

After re checking the dates and then using a date calculator :). It turns out were at day 65 today not day 61. The furthest matured plant started getting amber trichomes this morning. Id say out of every 100 trichs there 1 or 2 amber. Im trying to figure out why this plant is further along than its 2 sisters that got germinated and planted at the same time. The obvious would be a phenotype difference, where this one grows and matures a little faster but i dont think thats it. This plant was the smallest of the 3. Which made me not LST it close to as much as the other 2. As they transitioned into flower this plant had a huge stretch, which made it so its canopy wasnt as dense as the others. Which also made me not defoliate this plant. So I think the stress out onto the 2 sisters is just showing itself. They probably have 2+ weeks left. Where the mature plant probably has 7 days left. Well see, ill only chop at 10% amber.

Im fighting a deficiency on at least one of the plants, possibly 2. At least i think its a def. Im sticking with upping the nutes a hair for another few days. Rather than changing a bunch of variables id rather just go down the list. If things dont turn around by wedsnesday ill do a full flush with a good feeding after. Growing in coco is definitely more difficult. But also more rewarding. Larger plants, more buds etc.

Beastly genetics. Havent got to test the meds yet but it stinks, and is sticky. So its looking good there. I have 2 fresh frozen runs ready to go. So you guys wont get dry flower weight off of that plant. I saved 4 branches for flower though, so thats hang drying now. Update. Ran the fresh frozen, got close to 18grams off the 1lb wash. That had all top nugs. The second run was about 5oz. I only got 4 grams or so. But that run was mostly larf anyway The 90u out of both runs is full melt on a quartz banger. Taste is almost overwhelming. I have a 4t dabpress. I probably wont press the 90, but the 45 had a really pungent smell and is a bit darker, so ill squish that. The 4 saved branches dried and weighed 3oz 10grams Update 11/14 Harvested the 3 remaining WW. Got almost exactly .5lb per plant. I ran more bubble hash, 5oz dried and pulled a half ounce of full melt bubble.
