What's happening my friends 😁👍 Miss Strawberry will kick off this weeks updates as she was the last one to be transplanted last week. In conditions far from ideal she did very well, and she looks very happy and healthy 😎 She grew another node and pointed upwards again. Also the secondary growth developed good. Today I trimmed 2 big lower fan leaves and 6 growtips and it's so nice to finally see those sexy legs 😂 I also did another round of LST, took the top tie off and placed it on the new node 😉 I would say that after 2 more tie downs like this she will be in the right spot to start the spiral. See how we go.. Better get that tomato ring sorted, no updates on that yet 🙄 We had a few rainy days so there was no watering/feeding. Tomorrow they all get a drink so hopefully see yous then!! Thanks for peeping in!! 👍✌️

Spiral LST vs topdressing/mulch.. I planned on training like shown in picture, just not sure how this will work out with 1" of mulch and a monthly topdressing with all the pegs/wires, might get tricky. Thought about bending all sec branches to the outside vs 1out 1in?? Cheers

I agree to you, that its might be difficult to to topdressing , if you want to bend her like this. But i would look from a different side 2 Points....as you are growing Outdoors, and sunreaches every small point of the Plant, your Lst, dont have to be so specific like growing under arificial Light The Plant itself You need the fitting strain to your Technic. how elastic is the strain you grow, because the " new Genetics" tend to be super Sturdy . I had afew cases and gave up in "big bending" And another Point,,,,.. maybe alittle Zen...... follow the flow of the Plant,,, if you start binding her, intead of astiff plan. The Girls will be very grateful. aND SHE WILL GROW WAY BETTER

Today I noticed all my outdoor plants have pistils after being 3-5weeks outside. Is this normal and will they continue veg due to increasing days/temps? Also, could this be reversed with additional light? Currently in the 7th week of Spring with 14h light and 13h sunrise.

The time now at 13 hours sun and 14 light is where most photo cannabis starts to flower. You would need to add another hour or more to the sunlight to stop her from budding. Cheers

On you double leave set: Polyploid I think. Polyploid is induced mutation. Polyploid plants carry double set of chromosome. Bio activities double. It’s is a great technique to enhance potency, speed up growth, increase disease resistance. No harm to smokers. Flowers and sometime leaves double also.

@Smartie, its a gout medicine derived from crocus bub. Germinating seeds that fall into a vat of gout medicine mutate into polyploid plants. 😀😀😀😀😀 And the mutation carries to off springs. I think this is why modern cannabis strains so much stronger and easier to grow. Here are the nitty gritty: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpls.2019.00476/full https://www.rollitup.org/t/colchicine-treated-marjiuana.252793/

@Med_in_Tropic, Interesting 🤓 Sounds good then from what I understand? Double flowers = double smell, great, just what I needed 😂 Just one question: who or what induced the induced mutation? Cheers for the reply mate, good stuff! 👍✌️

Wow, great set up smartie. Love the new shade and mist area. Similar to my place, looks like you have found a spot free from neighbours prying eyes,,, never an easy task in the city!! I just looked at that OGS website. They look great! Might give them a go myself next run. Might try their super soil first as it seems to have many of the components you have listed here, some others I can add here like castings and i could add aloe and coconut via foliage sprays. I really like the look of their aeration mix too, I see what you mean there. So much good stuff, looks like I will end up spending more on growing than buying weed! But hey, it’s the hobby that’s great for the soul and nothing goes to waste. Next level lst mate, really looking forward to seeing that spiral eventuate. Cheers Smartie 🍻

@Shooey, Thanks matey 👍 Pretty happy with how it turned out, probably with the necessary face slaps down the line 😂.. Initially I wanted to make fully adjustable ones you could roll up but all good.. Might spend some time in there myself over the hot summer days 😁 Neighbors view is currently the least of my concerns, I'm more worried about the smell 😂 But I see what you're saying, pretty good spot to be in town (not city) 😉 As for OGS, I can't say anything bad about it, only thing would be high shipping price, at least for me in a rural area. Couldn't justify spending +400$ for free shipping (80$) but next season I will or chip together with some mates.. But quality and prices are better than your local hardware store and soil is reusable forever. No-brainer to me 😎 As for the LST, it sure looks good on paper, let's see 🤣

Such a nice and caring Setup!!!!! If its so hot i water my Girls 2 Times aday,,,,to be sure the Roots stay nicely cool
Smartie
Smartiecommented4 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar, Thanks!! Shade house is more for the bad UV on the plants/leaves. For keeping the roots cool I might look into isolating the pots in some way but yeah, few extra waterings are necessary for sure, mine had a drink that morning 😉

@Med_in_Tropic, Cheers dude!! Yeah, they will hey 😎 The issue I was wondering about was to try and keep things flat, o well solve the problem when it's there 😁

360 degree leaves!! Cool mate. Still looks hard for neighbors to see under the lights mate,, at least for now anyway!

@Shooey, Yeah they look kinda cool 😎 I meant more the difference of light that is put on that top area before and after the flood light. I'm masking it as a work light, I do some stuff in the shed with some music on when they're on 😂

Looking good!! 😍 I like how you are using alot of additives like I am too. Did you know that triacontanol and kelp is much much more potent when fed foliar? You can make your own triacontanol spray with alfalfa and enzymes. Kelp4less.com has some nice tutorials for using different additives
Smartie
Smartiecommented4 years ago
@Shagrath, Thanks a lot 👍 I'm just using a basic organic living soil recipe for my first grow. I added only 4 amendments when making my soil whereas pro recipes can have double that amount. If harvest is not a complete disaster I will look into more amendments, more fungi and bacteria and aerated tea instead of topdressing for next year 😁. Yep, correct that plants take some nutrients up better through foliage, thanks for adding another thing on next year's list 😂 Cheers for the info, I definitely have a look 👍✌️
