The run starts with (2X) Green Crack Seeds & (3X) Jack Skellington seeds. The JS Seeds are dispensary seeds and I am going to keep a close eye on them as I hope they don't HERM out on me or do any cross pollination to the FEM GC seeds -- My 1st time growing Photoperiods.
I have transplanted the seedlings -- I will be using Great Lakes Water Only by detroitnutrientcompany.com
I know nothing about living soil so it will be a learning process as always.
Start of week 2 and across the board they are the same height and same stage of growth. all seems spot on atm. I got a new water filter system for the home- it will do a much better job with the chlorine levels in our local water system. I intend to only give these plants filtered tap water from seed to harvest. i will change that as I learn more & see anything develop during the grow. I am finding it easier to control the Humidity & Temp with a new appliance. Going into the Fall time of year the temp drops fast in these parts & the humidity lvls as well. Come flowering time the GC will love the environment but the Jack Skellington's, well, we will have to see what waits their fate! NO HERMS!

Start of Week #3 and overall the plants look healthy with the exception of thin stalks. I am a bit concerned about that. I think. I am hesitant to add nutrients to a water only product, so I will wait another week or so an see how they develop. If still think then I will add some calmag. Still not able to tell the sex on Jack Skells - I have a scope so perhaps by the end of the week, I can try again. I really don't want them to mess up the GC's.
Start of Week 4 - I am still just adding water. Watering has increased but I am sticking to a schedule this run. I am using automatic watering system. It's pumping 1/2 gallon out to all 5 plants in 4 minutes set to every 12 hours. For the 7 gal bags it is working perfect, the 5 gals, they will need another watering tube added.
I topped 2 of the JS's mid week #3, & the other was done today. Yah know, just testing to see what works or not. Makes it interesting & it's a learning curve for me. This is the part of the veg process I do enjoy, topping / training & whatnot.
The GC's were topped today & look like healthy devil's lettuce growing happy AF. The leaves are healthy with no discoloration, & that is valid for all plants. The stalks did bulk up - looks like fan control was key to that development. Push them but not to hard. I found a great fan that has total directional control. This is a good thing, because I have gone through a few fans that just sucked to deal with. This one will be added to the permanent design setup.
I still do not know the sex of the Jack Skellington's. Shit is to micro for me to see & I am too high to f with the scope this a.m. 😉 I will be separating them into my 3x3 as soon. Just waiting for a 4" AC Infinity & a couple of new fans to show up. It will be cool to be able to grow them out to the point of obvious sex can be identified, albeit suks to have spent 5 weeks grow.
Hopefully all goes well with the topping. No hurry to run to harvest, so plenty of time with the photoperiod GC's. The Jack's fate still looms .... I hope it works out, because I like that strain.
Ok heading into Week #5 & nothing but dechlorinated tap water. Yah boi!
My 1st venue into high stress topping & training - The Jack's are still undetermined sex, so I figure what the hell -- have some fun & hopefully learn a bit.
I don't see anything obvious on the Jack's that are giving me anything definitive in regards to sex. I'll just keep watching. One thing I have noticed with the leaves, is that they are very strong, like a bit rubbery. Overall the are very clean, green & healthy looking.
The Green Crack duo is looking nice as well. Same deal with the leaves. Strong & stretchy, but healthy -- I defoliated the giant leaves & cleared off the 1st nodes. No training - YET -
Watering is done automatic for both tents. Was bout 1/2 gallon every 2 days, that will change with the the recent defolio ----
well that's about it, .
I decided to flip the switch to trigger flowering. I have them pretty well pinned down LST wise, so we shall see how it goes. I imaging they will pull up the wires & I will have to reset -- still working on my LST technique -- depends on how high I am -- I freak out when I have to abuse them so much -- remember, it's just a weed man --
I should know pretty quick as to the fate of the 3 Jack Skellington's. Hope for the best, expect the worst? I like growing, so it's all an experience, but fuck that - I hope they turn out to be females.
I perfected my little water ring system for the Green Crack plants -- seems to be working evenly now and dumping about 1 gallon for both per 2 days -- I top them off at times to keep the edges fucking MOISTy --
Yep, still using dechlorinated tap water - I inspected each plant today and saw nothing that showed any signs of worry. They look healthy , have a sweet smell and the leaves feel sturdy.
Let flowering begin!
Start of Week 7 & all is going well. The Green Cracks are stretching nicely & after a brief defoliation back in the tent they went. An earwig looking bug shot across the tent floor and I nearly destroyed my fan nabbing the lil fucker --
No signs of pistil yet in both tents -- The Jack's are not stretching so much but are filling in.
Water as usual -- no nutrients at all this run --
Ok so into Week 3 of Flower & all looks good. The Crack Ladies are doing the stretchy thing and I now have them under a SoG setup -- I moved the move into the center because it will fill in due to the topping on each. This part is the challenge for me - keeping everything under control and not trying to mess with them to much - Good thing I am gone each week for a couple of days --
The Jack's look like they are all females -- There are obvious budlets on one of them and it is looking rather healthy -- Smells great too! -- The other 2 I was able to see some signs of pistils but they are not obvious budlets yet -- so I did use the scope and best as I can tell they are female -- Anyone taking a look -- please let me know what you think !!
I added some Liquid Cal from Nectar of the Gods -- Demetrs Destiny -- I am just testing to see how they respond -- otherwise just adding water as usual
Both tents are maintaining good temps & humidity. The temp is basically being controlled by the apartment ambient temp, about 74 -- with the LEDS running it spikes up to 79+ Humidity is stable around 39-42
The GC's are leveled out and ready to be left alone to start their bud development. The Jacks are taking some time to develop the budlets but are progressing nicely. Sadly, I snapped a top off one of the planets while reaching over to another. I was so pissed I could have punched a horse. JK.
I am using a hand sprayer to water the top soil, as the watering system is getting deeper into the root ball and not much is getting to the top. This will cause an issue when I go away for a couple of weeks later this month. I have seen some slight greening on the top soil but the bags look clean. I will adjust the air flow within the tent and make sure it is sufficient.
I have a couple of weeks before I travel so this will get interesting. Looking forward to an early December Harvest 😀
Moving right along - Both tents checking in looking & smelling great! I removed the ScrOG setups from both tents - Next run I will be filling in the 4X4 -
The budlets on the Green crack plants look amazing, and the smell when I poke my nose in the tent, always brings a smile. I dialed in the water schedule & have it set up for regular automatic watering. I check them often and the weight checks out so let it roll ...
I did change the orientation of the GC tent plants - just trying to make use of the full area & testing some layouts for future grows
The Jacks are looking amazing! Super frosty and looking happy. I know I am ...
The Deez Co2 Bag fell on DEE Floor! I heard it and thought it popped -- it fell from the hangar and nearly chopped off one of the Jack's soon to be kolas
I added some Late Week Pics -- The smell from the Jack Skellington's is very powerful -lovin it!!! - the Crack Ladies are definitely a high smell grow -- it's so great :)
Looking forward to the coming weeks -- water as usual and enjoying the process.
Both tents are loving it so far. Slight issue with the watering system -- it's dumping more into 1 pot than the others - so farking hell I had to re -rigged it and test it out - It will be okay for the 9 days I will be gone. I have 2 of them and so far they have performed. The lights did not come on for some reason in one of the tents, but I have corrected that.
The Jack's are frosting up and the Crack Ladies are filling in a bit -- I did defoliate a bit but other than that I am letting them do as they please.
One of the LED's flamed out - well I smelt it -- no fans and was just sitting there getting super molten hot. Unplugged it - returned it and got another one overnight -- I like the LED's but what if that happened when I was away? F me sideways
I'm happy with where they are at so far -- water only is fine but nutrients definitely bulk up the yield.
So after being gone for 9 days, both tents look fine.
I think I had a watering problem in the Jack Skellington tent as the pots were light when I returned. The reservoir still had 3 gallons left which means the were not getting the level they needed. The buds look super frosty, but the yield wont be there and a bit underdeveloped.
The Crack Tent watered as planned & ended up using 9.5 gallons. One plant is yellowing so I pH corrected the water and will wait & see if that is the cause or if ran out of nutrients from the soil. The Buds look super frosty and have that classic Green Crack Green glow to them .. Love that!
I will keep an eye on the tri's but I feel like they are getting very close. Perhaps another week.
It will be a very high holidays :)
This is the week. I am watching the Tri's and looks like I should see some amber very soon. This will be a low yield but the bud quality will be very HIGH! The Jack's did well on just water and are very sticky.
Harvest is near - Then it's off to Vegas Baby!
Mid Week Check and due to my time frame I am going to harvest tomorrow evening --
I did harvest both tents. I must say the Green Crack is amazing. The buds are brilliant green, super dense & smell intense!
The Jack Skellington's came out very well. The buds are fully developed, super sticky & very strong smell. The trichome's looked ready, mostly cloudy with sprinkles of orange -
I can't wait to get these buds jarred up next week & get a final weigh in. I mostly look forward to some killer home grown bud! Super happy with the density of the buds from both tents.
Grow Bud Yourself - Grow Bud Yourself ! ...
I grew in Super Soil & used dechlorinated water only. The buds grew large, dense & sticky green. This is a very potent strain & my favorite to grow. Thank you ILGM!👍
This grow went well. I used a local Super Soil & dechlorinated water throughout the whole growing process. I was gone a lot, one time for 9 days, so automatic watering was essential. However, I was way to conservative on the timing schedule & the plants were under watered.
The Green Crack plants were fun to grow because as they developed, they gave off a strong odor that I love so much with this strain. The buds develop bright green and just ooze stickiness. They grow large and have weight to each bud. I did top both plants but did little defoliation afterwards.
I love this strain in the morning! I love the smoothness as it smokes & the high just keeps getting you higher! A bit psychedelic.
The strongest strain I have grown to date. I look forward to future runs with the few seeds I have left.
I am happy how these dispensary seeds came out. All females & none of them Herm'd out. They all were a bit under watered IMO but they grew heavy with trichomes and would be a great strain to grow if you wanted high kief yields.
I love the smoke as it makes me feel uplifted, mostly functional and calm. It's a very intense high as you can feel it and smile when you open the frig door but your looking for your car keys!
Nice looking grow, that living soil looks to be doing well for you! Its hard to positively say but they all look female from what I saw. Good job so far 👍
