Alright! Week three and I’m having some stretch happen and I’m hopeful that I’m just a paranoid grower since I have never grown autos before, but she is stretching and growing a bit more rapidly and she seems to have some white pistils or ore flower occurring, but we will see how she grows! Using Gaia green has been successful for now, and she has some nice lush dark leaves witch I was worried could be related to nitrogen but nope it’s just the phenotype and genetics of this one little seed and strain. But growth is moving fast and even if I can get mild harvest with decent quality buds, I’ll call my first auto ever a success. I plan on lst soon since I know it does wonders for indoor photos and I’ve been told it’s a must for autos. Autos take quite a lot less nutrients so I am happy with my medium for this grow. But fingers crossed
Hello again! And thank you for taking some time to look at my little candy cane auto, despite this auto supposedly being a large auto I am exited to see the final results! She’s growing fast now as expected I could say, or hoped is a better way to say that, she’s piped pistils and looks happy! I’m hoping the growth dose not stop until mid flower or so but we will see! First time auto growing I don’t know what to expect! Updated the medium because I realized that the first three weeks were at the wrong nutrient level I put in on this grow, my bad. I’m only tuning half strength for nutrients per gallon. Making it 0.5 tbs per gallon! Of both but more of a 40%bloom 50%4-4-4 all purpose.
So I said tbs last time hahaha it’s tsp my baddd. Don’t document stoned haha. She’s growing really fast and having a great time at some basic lst. Bud sites are popping up like crazy and I’m able to supply them all with light through the lst, happy plant is growing fast, I’m happy because I had a suspicion that a lot of root development happened when it was slow growing witch is fantastic! So I’m enjoying this boom of growth! Happy camper over here
Flowering is kicking off super fat now, probably could have considered it flowering about a week or so ago since it was obviously flowering but I figured the growth stretch after flowers first popped could be considered end of veg but since autos have a short veg time I guess it’s really just the start of flower but who cares you be the judge, I’m just a newbie auto grower haha, I’ve added some top dress of a ratio of 30/70 444-2-8-4 Gaia green, i eyeballed the ratio since I was in a rush to clean my tent and top dress my other plants, but I know it was very on par with about 3 tbs of 2-8-4 bloom and about half a tablespoon of 444 just for the extra, and a dash of fish bone meal for some extra calcium and phosphorus, but still keeping it very low with nutrients as not too burn or stunt her, can always add more and it’s a struggle to add less, especially with autos. Stay safe.
Flowering is going amazing, this candy cane is growing some very fast weight and caking up with Trichome’s. The sweet and slightly minty berry smell is growing in power day by day, and I’m very happy with how the size of the buds are developing since adding the increase of 2-8-4 and fish bone meal, just a little bit, not too much at all and she’s reacting great, knowing that the candy cane is a larger auto in size makes me a bit sad with the total size of this plant, but in its young age as my very first auto I believe I probably stunted it, but after all this and how she looks now Im more than happy with the growth, yield and quality of it, just speaking now as I do not obviously know how much I Will revive from it, I’m guessing about a ounce. No small bud sites other than maybe one on a lower branch that already has a main top cola on it. The main cola is massive and packing on a lot of size. I’ve switched the light to a hour less now as I am growing 2 photo indica L.A grape and with the season change I am having to fix my temp and humidity more for the photos, so changing to a 17-7 schedule has actually helped quite a lot and also has helped my other autos veg slightly better. But all in all I’m very exited!
Alright so it’s actually the Sunday before week 9 but I’ll still count it as week 9, it’s amazing how this candy cane auto is maturing and it’s just smelling so sweet and minty right now I’m in love!
She smells great already, fatting up quite a lot fat for day and maturing at a good rate for bud development. Exited and more exited every day. Not a massive plant but I imagine it will be some fine ass bud. That’s why I’m called Microsun🍂🍭
She’s getting their! She’s starting to show signs of finishing and I’ve already given her a bit of a flowering nute boost, but she will be going in to flush once I get about 10/15 amber and the rest as milky as I can get. Still waiting for some pistils to turn orange or curl but that’s okay. I’ve got time. 🍭
She’s getting their folks almost, I’m pushing for 10-30 amber and mostly milky. But we gave her a great watering and some tlc, took off some fading leaves and made sure she was happy and growing well, added some thrip protection due to reducing a outdoor from the snow. But all is good in the hood.
Alright, the time is here, I’ve started the harvest but I don’t want to press the harvest button until I have all my info correct, but I’ll show some photos from my baby, we started a slow 6.0 flush about 2 weeks ago and finishing flush about 4 days ago. She was already fading but I had some problems since I fed her without thinking after having some drinks witch is obviously a very rookie move. But as I’m still learning it’s just another oof under the bridge, she was fading and I got some nice looking tricombs and I’m happy with the smell and size for her life cycle, I’m aiming for a slow dry and cure but my space is limited in my appointment and grow room so I have a drying tent set up but conditions could be hard to handle since the season change. Cheers. (And yes I didn’t wanna flush my auto but I figured it was the safest route.)
Going in to cure week one now! I have very low humidity in my home right now so I will be using a humidity regulation pack in my jar, it has helped me keep my buds fresh and curing properly thankful with burps every day she smells amazing and is a great in between of a nice crisp outer and a soft but properly humid interior perfect for the cure, she will be in this single glass air tight jar and in the curing room and drying room until two weeks is up then just over half will be caned and sealed up for long term storage with a pack and regulator for conditions inside the can, and the other will be personals for me to save, store and cure. I’ll post more when I test her out and get some taste but her profile for smell is quite floral and very sweet, a bit of a musky pungent kick but almost like a mango sour kick, very candy like. My total amount is unknown because I have it separated and curing in two different containers, more air and less packed, better cure in my opinion. I don’t like squished buds right off the bat yeah know! Cheers!
This strain has a very interesting high, I and my girlfriend did a test on her at about week 2 of cure and found she has a very sweet minty mango tinge, but a more of a minty tea smell with a bit of sour tinge once you crack that bud open to put it in the grinder. She smokes amazing all white ash and a very dense but romantic softness to her. At first I was bummed smoking this strain because knowing it only peaks at around 17% supposedly I did not expect a very strong bud already, but when I smoked her I got almost a very gradual increase after a few minuets of puffing almost like a euphoric wave was slowly rushing over my eyes and head like a tide coming in on a beautiful night after a long day at the beach. I felt quite sativa stoned with it growing in intensity in my face and eyes, then after I finished my joint I went inside for a glass of water and as soon as I sat down, it really hit me and my girlfriend right in the ass, I was couch locked and so was she, but in a very odd way, I was not indica deep, but I was more a good hybrid deep, a very relaxing eye and face buzz with quite relieving muscle tension I felt amazing, my body was so bloody relaxed! I felt just comfortable like a cozy blanket and a fire on a cold December day, hot chocolate in hand. This strain from start of smoke, to burn out was a very calm and needed high for me and my lady. We both burned out and slept like rocks, like someone had just given the worlds best massage in my brain and bones. I woke up the next morning feeling quite refreshed after that eye relaxing euphoric head high and my back and legs felt very relaxed and ready for a great day! So in my opinion! A good 6/10 for max potency but a 10/10 for flavour and enjoyment. Over all I give this strain a 8/10 in my books, a 17% is all I need and I’m betting she came out around that, of course without lab testing I can not prove that. But I love this strain and the high it gives, one single 0.5 joint got me fried, and the next day I finished off 3 bowls and went to fucking muchie land so he’ll yeah! Give candy cane a try!! Also! Sorry about the lack of info! I did not have a scale when it was in wet weight, I also had a whole half a plant chopped to branches and the big buds left on the plant to hang dry slow, so I was not able to get it on a scale until dried a week later due to my work schedule and having stores open as I’m in the shop and close as I leave.
