FIM'd another top. Just got in the remo nutes and wanted to give velokelp a go. Seems to be helping the recovery, but used as a foliar it left an oily sheen on the leaves. New light is on it's way, currently under a crappy little true 40w blurple. This pheno seems to be pretty kick-ass, it's been through a lot and still keeps on trucking at quite a decent pace, considering some of the trauma. Little bit of accidental HST when a fan fell on it.

The kingbrite came in on the 9th, holy shit. Such a step up from my old light that I could see a difference overnight, even running at half go. Now using the old one to supply a little bit of ambient red/blue. The now almost-month-old seedling is really liking it, given it doesn't have to stretch anymore. My soil PH is getting too high, as are my day temps. My humidity is getting too low. I'm gonna try to rectify these things before they have a dramatic effect on my end yield. Feeding tomorrow with slightly dechlorinated, ph'd tap water using my own recipe of remo nutrients.

Tried out the remo nutes at half strength or so, now feeling I could've doubled my dosage and been fine. That still remains to be seen. Plant has been drooping lately, partially due to the somewhat heavy defoliation this week to improve airflow, and partly due to much lower-than-optimal RH. Noticing nutrient deficiencies, multiple at once so I'm guessing it's PH-related as I've been struggling to control PH. Due to photo upload error, I'm updating a day late. So, thought I'd include that pumping the humidity way up (43% before lights out last night, 51% when I checked this morning) using a dish of water with a fan blowing over it and a cloth to wick some moisture has seemingly caused the plant to perk up a bit, go figure. Last night I noticed a microscopic, red, pear shaped insect crawling on a leaf underside. Jumped to conclusions of spider mites and bombed the plant with Safer's Trounce (potassium bicarb and pyrethrin) - Upon further research I realized my dumbass had gone ahead and killed off a population of beneficial mites. I suppose that's where learning from experience comes in.

Repotted to a 5gallon fabric this week, letting her recover from transplant shock before some heavy defoliation and LST on the last month leading up to the flip. I did a little bit of defoliation on 9/29 as some leaves were hitting the dirt, which I don't like to have happen. Added a mulch layer on top to hopefully improve watering and microbial life in the soil. Soil is drying out much more rapidly than it was, but it's still mostly fucking promix so it holds a litre of water for like an entire week. Been battling temps ridiculously hard this week, humidity not as much once I installed my DIY crackpot humidifier. The tallest nodes at the moment are actually from the middle of the plant, surprisingly. On my previous first grow, I didn't have the space to fully experience the magics of LST and selective defoliation, but I do now. Wow. She does look a little sad still, but it's certainly not the most she's been drooping, so I'd rather her be this droopy than as droopy as she was a couple weeks ago.

Decent week. Didn't have to battle temps as much as usual, which was nice. Defoliated right after last week's diary and she picked up like crazy. Flushed the medium a little bit as I was worried about salt buildup. Going to water with no nutes again, and feed next watering so I can figure out if she's deficient or if it's a PH issue. Defoliated again last night, perhaps a little too heavily, but she seems to be picking up again as of now.

Watered with plain water 10-6. Tomorrow (10-14) she gets fed. Uneventful week, did a bit of defoliation here and there, tightened the LST, took a clone as a little experiment. Nothing too major. Temps are slowly improving as the climate gets colder here. In the home stretch before flower, hopefully with this upcoming feeding she bulks up a dece bit before I flip around halloween.

Not much notable this week, she's just been growin. Going to put her into a couple days of 14-10 to assist with transition into flower, then flip to 12-12. Perhaps overdid it slightly on defoliation yesterday, but she'll bounce back. Worst comes to worst I'll push back my flip date. Noticing she's been drinking more. Humidity's been plummeting ever since it started getting colder, at this point it's a total shit show. On the upside I won't have to worry about getting molds from humidity.

This past week was the final week of veg. Feels like just yesterday I was typing out last week's post, but anyway. Somewhat uneventful week, bit of defoliation here and there, watered with plain water the day after last post. Popped her into 14-10 on Friday for a little bit of transition time, then flipped to 12/12 today. Also chucked the ScrOG net in today, can't wait to see how she flowers. She was quite promising in veg, so I'm hoping she'll really put out in flower. on a side note, I took a tiny little clone when defoliating one day, so it'll be interesting to see how that'll react to 12/12. Just a little experiment, not hoping for much.

Ah, week 1 of flowering is over. It seems like she's only just started to stretch, but the pistil production looks to be in full swing. Fed right at flip (10/27), and fed again on 11/1. Seems to be loving the nutrient concentrations as of right now. I'll be tapering off the grow stimulant over the course of now-F21, and adding astroflower starting at F14. Did a bit of defoliation here and there to try and achieve an even stretch. I won't be lollipopping this grow but I'd still like to achieve as even a canopy as possible before or around F21. Humidity has been much better since flipping to flower, I suppose that'd be because of the increased transpiration rate. At any capacity, it lets me get a little closer to the target VPD. I know I should be careful about over-defoliating in flower, but there's just so fucking much foliage it doesn't make a difference in how much of the plant is absorbing light, even after a fairly heavy defo. I suppose I should only be worrying too much after another week or two.

Fairly uneventful week yet again, doing progressive defoliation which will grind to a stop completely at F21. Over the past week the buds have been starting to develop nicely. Not too much of a stretch in this strain, for whatever reason. (Only grew about 3 inches upwards since flip) Fed the usual mixture, with a bit of added nitrogen. The added nitrogen is no longer going to be added, and I'm going to start feeding a little AstroFlower (Bloom booster, if that wasn't implied) with the next feed and increase the dose slowly as she grows. Generally I'm a pessimist, but this is one plant that it's hard not to be optimistic about. Can't wait to see how she develops from here on out.

Great week overall. The bud development looks beautiful. Although uneventful for the most part, this week was very enjoyable. Did a little tucking here and there, I believe I've done all I can at this point. Today (F21) I did a sparing defoliation to try and allow a bit of light to access lower bud sites. This is the last defoliation in this grow in the interest of still having active photosynthesis sites throughout the plant, lol. Busted out the zoom lens and camera and snapped some real nice bud shots.

Welp, I went too light on the defoliation F21 and a shitload of bud sites were completely under the canopy so I had to go through and remove some leaves. Fuck, hopefully she won't stress hermie or anything like that. Other than that the week has been good, she's been putting on some weight and she's starting to stink up the room she's in. Very photogenic, can't wait to see how she develops even further. Hoping for some bigboi yields off of this one. She got a little dry yesterday but all was well, nothing compared to my other plant which I essentially drought stressed by watering/feeding a day late. Paying for that now with mag deficiency and droopiness for a day. I'm seeing some purpling here and there, so definitely an interesting strain when flowering. that and the buds are FAT.

Another somewhat uneventful week, however she's quite noticeably frosting up as well as slightly fattening up her buds. She seems to be ripening very fast compared to the other plant in the tent, which may prove a pain in the ass for drying purposes. (I'm seeing some cloudy trichs here and there on her already) As F35 passes I head to the tent with the zoom lens yet again for some bud porn shots. She seems to be developing a minor deficiency, which looks to me like a bit of potassium/maybe sulfur hunger, however I'd prefer some more inputs. (Grow question) Other than that, she's fully healthy and growing like crazy. For some reason, her terp profile smells like actual garbage (when I smell the tops, it smells like an open trash can, no lie) but if I get any resin on my fingers it smells completely different, very earthy and gassy. Gonna be boosting the feed a bit this coming week, as well as considering inputs from the grow question. Thanks for viewing.

Hi, past two weeks or so I've been noticing progressive chlorosis and eventually some necrosis starting from the edges of the leaves and working inwards. Photos of this can be found in Week 18 Flower denoted by "For grow question #x 12/1" Humidity low, could be related? thx

she's getting old! just leave her aging, she will show some beautiful colors ;) the burn tip is a sign that she's over sucking your nutrients and now is time to start some flush until the trichomes start turning opaque/brown! happy harvest!!

Another uneventful yet good week. We're getting some purple/yellow fades on leaves near bud sites as the temps dip at night and the plant nears the end of it's life cycle Trichomes are approximately 70% cloudy and 30% clear as of right now, so it seems we have a good 2 weeks or so of fattening up and ripening to get to. Not many pistils are white anymore, leading me to believe I'm fully in the home stretch. Amped up the feed ever so slightly this week, with +1ml of astroflower as well as +1ml of Nature's candy and VeloKelp respectively. I'm hoping the juice-up of astroflower will help to fatten up the buds some more, and the NC and kelp should contribute to stronger stems to support said fat buds. Humidity averages 40% still, so not bad but could be much better. Got back in there with the zoom lens yet again to document the progress. The buds are frosting up very nicely and seem to be packing on some weight. Fingers crossed they pack on a hell of a lot between now and harvest. She's also starting to stink up a storm, something I'll attribute to the appearance of MANY more trichomes than were originally present in previous weeks. With all my training and Scrogging, I have about 30 tops exposed to direct light. Hopefully aiming for somewhere around 120g dry from this plant.

Just vibing this week, nothing too special going on. -Upped the concentration of Nature's Candy, AstroFlower and VeloKelp slightly in the feed mixture. -Removed some leaves with progressed necrosis. -Noticing increased purpling in leaves near bud sites -Plummeting temperature at night awhile after lights out -Buds are fattening and frosting slightly -Trichomes are mostly cloudy with a handful of clear outliers I would've liked to see some more fattening of the buds this week, however I have careful optimism that they'll fill out a wee bit more before harvest. Optimal trichome ratio for me is 1:1, or 50/50-60/40 cloudy/amber. Wishing I had another space to clone in, as I'm loving the amount of frost that's developing on many of the buds. See you next week, happy growing.

uneventful week. Fed, watered. Hopefully chop time comes out to sometime around Christmas, as the buds seem to have stopped continuing to develop. Trichomes are continuing to turn cloudy and amber. the other plant in the tent is evidently finishing WELL after as a large quantity of pistils are still white and extended despite some fat ass buds.

Gave her the final feeding of the grow this week. A day late on the diary due to Christmas festivities, bear with me. Somewhat uneventful week, aside from the fact I've chopped a couple branches off to let the rest finish out. Will be taking two more in the following days and letting the rest go for around a week. Drying conditions are far from optimal, at 30% humidity. At the very least I can keep the temps low. Many of the lower buds are much further behind than the top growth, obviously. Hoping the rest of it doesn't take too long to finish out so I can whole plant hang. (At least what's left of the whole plant) No bud porn this week, that'll be for the pre-harvest/harvest entry. Happy growing.

Last week for this unknown bagseed. Final watering was today 1/6. Some branches are still drying, will be trimmed within two days. Once the trichs are at satisfaction and the other branches are out of the drying space I'll be whole-plant hanging. It's been a good run, this was a fun plant to grow. Next grow will be starting some monsters to put outside in the spring. I'll either update this week or add a harvest week once the plant is fully dry, trimmed and curing; however I won't update until then. Thanks to all who followed this grow. Happy Growing!

Damn good for a random bagseed. Pulled 160g of flowers incl. 14g of popcorn that I'm gonna make some butter with. Also pulled 70~g of trim and a substantial amount of dry sift. Here's the review, smoked in a joint for the fullest possible flavour. -Very fruity and sweet on the dry pull with a hint of spice, slightly earthy aftertaste. -More of a coffee flavour when hitting, with a hint of spicy and sweet. The spice is especially noticeable at the end of the joint. -Right at the end of the joint is the apex of the spice, with the sweetness moving to the aftertaste. -The ash burned nice and white, and the smoke was incredibly smooth for the first half of the joint. -If you ask me, it’s the best weed I’ve ever smoked. That’s simply because I grew it myself. It just hits different to me. Realistically, it’s some damn good weed but not some crazy AAAAAA++++ type thing. -The effect is incredible, exactly what I look for in an indica. Great full-body high and somewhat noticeable but still minimal head high. Perfect for sleep or anxiety. -On a scale of 1-10: Smoothness: 7.5 Taste: 10 Ash Whiteness: 8.5 Effects: 10 (Subjective, they’re what I look for) -Overall Rating: 9.5 =-=-=-=-=-=-= Really good to grow, incredibly disease resistant considering the foliage density and absolute lack of botrytis or PM throughout. Always responded incredibly well to defoliation, as well as other methods of low stress training. =-=-=-=-= I didn't weigh it wet, but I'll just ballpark it at around 4x dry weight so GD has a number.

Overall this strain was quite fun to grow, once all the problems I had were worked out she really took off. I hope I have some more unknown bagseeds of this same strain, as I love it's effects as well as how it grew. The only gripe I have with this strain is that it was a pain in the ass to trim, even as sloppy as my trim was. Very leafy. That's where my complaints end.

@sativaman, depending when exactly this run is all cut down and dried I may run some genetics I got in a giveaway to put out in the summer, otherwise I'll just run those same genetics indoors.

@EmeraldLakeCannabis, wish you a good harvest up to your expectations! What will be your next run?
EmeraldLakeCannabis
EmeraldLakeCannabiscommented4 years ago
@sativaman, that's my bad, it seems I was the one misreading. I don't believe that the issues are caused by improper PH, as the lockout zone of N and K is waaaaay lower than my tap water which comes out of the tap very basic; and those are the closest nutrients which symptoms resemble the leaves fading. However, it is probable that it's simply an end-of-life-cycle thing, as the some other leaves closest to bud sites are showing the "autumn fade" I've been looking at the trichomes under a 60x pocket microscope daily, they're mainly clear with some rare cloudy outliers, even on the sugar leaves. 2 weeks is a possible harvest window but I'm not completely sure about the solidity of that figure. My previous grow resulted in a very underwhelming yield due to harvesting too early, I'm gonna feed until I see ambering, and then use plain water. (I'm aiming for a higher than average ratio of CBN for medical use)
