just started this new adventure with the setup provided by RQS 🙏🏻
I had to take a break to enlarge the growbox (I'll see if 6 or only 4 come in) as always all DIY 😁
Given the still high temperatures I preferred to use the jiffy I already had rather than the starter kit (the pots are really small and dry very quickly)
I gave a week of difference between HB1 and the others because I forgot to buy the soil before and now I ordered it 😅 but it seems to have been fine (although the fat banana took almost a week to germinate, while the others of hulkberry less than 3 days)
I found a silverfish (is this the correct name?) in the soil of a plant; obviously I immediately threw it out and checked if there were others by moving the ground a little, but how do I make sure I make them disappear? or do you know if they can be harmful to the plant? 😭
Silverfish and Firebrats don't really harm your plants, so there's nothing to worry about. They like protein.
- they're extremely hard to get rid of tho, as eggs can stay dormant for a long time waiting for water to hatch..
Diatomaceous Earth is a good way to kill them.. It'll enter their shell and suck them dry of fluid.. just dust some on top of your soil, and inside your tent.

I am also noticing that the fat banana grows much slower than the others, but I should have expected it seeing how I had to force germination (the first two did not germinate normally in the soil so this time I left it for two days in water and then the jiffy constantly under the glass, also risking to create mold 😅)
in the previous harvest I noticed that, between the plant on which I did the LST and the one on which I did not, there were 3-4 grams more, but the quality (both in smell and taste) was definitely to the advantage of the plant grown without stress (probably because to do the lst on autoflowering plants you also need special nutrient boosters to make them recover 🤷♀️🏻)
so I decided to let them grow normally and who knows, maybe in some other cycle I could start with photodependent plants

I can be pleasantly surprised by the organic nutrients of RQS which, even if used recently after germination, did not create any burns or purple stems, but on the contrary, comparing the growth with the previous ones it also seems to be speeded up
after only two days with just water I noticed the first two leaves from below of HB1 that are turning yellow so I will try to start again with fertilizers (RQS grow tablets) and then I will try to increase the concentration a little to "push the growth"
this yellowing that starts from the edges and ends up drying out the whole leaf is only happening on the hulkberries (the fat banana looks great) so now I just don't know what it could be 😭
Just your plant feeding on its lower leaves, not a big deal, could mean your overwatering a bit or have a little nutrient deficient but if it’s just a couple lower leaves your all good. Just watch it and back off the water a bit maybe. Cheers💨
I started to give only water to HB1 and HB3 (by now they have many orange pistils) while for FB and HB2 I think they still need at least another 2-3 weeks so I continue to fertilize
I really think that the time of HB2 is approaching (harvested day 73)
for its "twin" (same soil, same nutrients, planted at the same time, in short, all identical) it will need at least another week ... I did not expect this 🤔
